That was actually my first time playing hammerhead. Huh, weird map...
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
That isn't even the half of it @MasterWario. And hello again. Nah, Tower Control is really really weird. There's a choke point, which if you get the tower past, you've won essentially.
And I absolutely love the sheer brokenness that is Saltspray Rig Rainmaker. We got stuck really close, behind an unjumpable wall. That was absolutely hilarious.
Mind you, most of it was.
I've never really thought about me from other perspectives either. Should be an interesting watch.
@MasterWario: It takes some getting used to,it did with me anyway.I really enjoy Splat Zones on there,it's intense.Didn't really work out there with 2v2 though haha
One of the most important skills to do well in this game is awarnesss. Do you have a good idea where the enemy is before super jumping? Can you notice slight ripels or sound to alert you to enemies and weapon types? These are what separate good from bad players for the most part.
I sometimes have to remind myself to try to spot the enemy from as far away as possible. I tend to do a lot better when I do that.
@crimsontadpoles: yup it is the first time i saw myself on someone elses video was on @Megumi vid it was only for a few moments here and there but it was cool nonetheless
Huh. I thought I was absolutely appalling. On watching from another perspective, I'm not That bad.
I might have to start trying the Luna Blaster after watching that. You do use it very effectively. (And certainly well against Rollers...) Do you work out where the Enemy will be in a few moments, and fire above there, or do you fire at where the enemy is currently, and hope it hits where they will be?
@Spoony_Tech: I know some people like to stick with one weapon but it becomes important to have at least another weapon type as a secondary especially for squad.
True! For a long time I played with only two weapons (Aerospray and regular Splattershot), but by now I have practiced and played with many other weapons (mostly dual squelcher, N-Zap, Splatlings, standard Slosher) and it gets better. It's important to become versatile, especially if you're playing in a squad. You have to observe what your teammates are using and be able to adapt. I'm still not that good with chargers but if I play a few hours straight with one of the Splatlings I get more used to it again.

I kinda wanna disagree. Not with your main point anyway. I do notice all these little things (especially the sound effects and slight changes in distant ink), but I still get splatted a lot after super jumping (although the number of those deaths is in fact decreasing) and I still haven't reached A-. But then again, I play often when I'm tired or not concentrated/fit enough because I just love this game so much and there is no real alternative to ranked battle.
@pikminfan22: Lol really? I always paid attention to the abilities, right from the beginning. You can change so much with them! Be it one of the things affecting your special or other things (e.g.: currently, I have 2x main for sub weapon range on my Splattershot so my Burst Bombs become a range weapon). The only thing the game lacks is an ability to extend the range of your main weapon. And if you do it right, you can have six different abilites at once (3x main, 3x3 sub).
There are several guides on those and tons of information (like the effect of every brand etc).
Here are a few from my bookmarks:
@pikminfan22: Actually, one of the wikis also has side-by-side comparison videos for every single ability. There you can see the effect with 1-3 mains and 1-3 subs. The wikis mostly explain it very well, but if you have specific questions, just ask here. What exactly do you want to know?
It's important to know that every brand (except for a few) has a five times higher probability for one ability to be rolled on a sub slot (this way you could for example get shoes with 3x swim speed as a sub ability). You can see those for all brands on that picture in the imgur-Link.
The effect of the different abilities isn't equally strong (in percentages), for example damage and defense don't have such a great effect, while one main slot of ink saver (main) alone gives you 20% (so it uses 20% less ink on your main weapon).
This applies more or less: 3x sub ability can equal the effect of 1x main ability
Also, some abilities only are available on the head or feet (as a main ability).
Some abilites are stackable, but some of them give you diminishing returns if you stack them. So if you have that abilities on three slots, you won't get 3x of the effect but less.
Of course you have to choose according to your weapon set. You have to ask yourself questions like: Do I need my special ability as often as possible? Should it last longer? Do my subs use too much ink (especially seeker, beacon, ink mine, splash wall, but basically everything except the burst bombs)? Does my main weapon use too much ink? Is my main weapon too heave and do I therefore need more swim speed? Am I playing rainmaker, do I take it a lot (then run speed up would be nice)? Is the range of my main weapon that short that I should extend the range of my sub weapon?
Whatever you choose, the effect is perceptible. By now I immediately can notice the slightest differences (like when I forgot to change my gear to have it better suited to my weapons) , but even without any training you will notice the effect of one main or 3x sub.
It took me a long time to get through all of it, because there is no official source and every site shows slightly different amounts, but I desparetly wanted to know it and if I want to know/ find something out, nothing can stop me. So I had to compare them and also take some reddit comments into account. Maybe one day I'll try to distill all of this into one definitive guide.
@shani: I'm looking at the chart in the imgur link, and I'm not sure I'm understanding the last two columns (the ones with x5 and 1/2)... Can you elaborate, please?
