@shani: Well, I did think about that, but then the update prompted and I came to the conclusion that the game would perform a fresh install on the Wii U. But I'm trying the game without the stick now. Fingers crossed.
@VeeFlamesNL: Ok, wish you luck! Keep us informed. @DiscoGentleman: I don't know about that, but for example I got the red chucks with ink resistance and all three subslots are swim speed. At the time I also had swim speed as my main ability on the head. Maybe your gear affects the chances? I don't know.
My GOTY? Legend Of Zelda: Splat of the child. Ah no, I meant LoZ: Breath of the SPLATOOOON!
@shani Yeah, the Wii U performed a fresh install. Which all but confirms that all my progress and stuff (as well as my brother's) was saved to the flash drive. I should have copied the save data to system memory when I had the chance....
Ugh. I'm not happy about this....
Cheers for the games all.Apologies for just going with Rainmaker most of the time.It seemed the best mode to play with uneven sides.I hate being the one in charge of it haha.
@VeeFlamesNL: damn, but do you still have the corrupted save data on the flash drive or is it completely gone? @DiscoGentleman: From my understanding, it doesn't make sense anyway to focus so much on one ability, because it only adds about 2%(?) or so, so I don't envy those who have such montone items. ^^ I just happen to have those chucks but I also use my boots with ink resistance.

@shani Yeah, the 'corrupt' save data is still on my flash drive. I don't want to delete it yet...
Just so you know, while the other co tent in the flash seems to be working fine (I've not tried all of it), I'm very sure there's some missing content... like my Mario & Luigi Partners in Time game.
I'm real sorry I bailed, guys. I got a sudden shock when I realized I had to be somewhere really important in 10 minutes (Thank you, Google Calendar, for your 10 minute reminders). I just had to shut of the system and bolt as fast as I could. It was really fun playing with all of you guys! You guys are really friendly, and I think practicing with S rankers gives me some really good practice!
@DiscoGentleman: each gear brand has 1 sub bility that is 5x more likely to appear. So that makes it easier to reroll. Spyke can still be a meanie and you dont get the triple at all.I saw a guy on youtube burn 1 million p till he got it XD.

I once saw a sheet where all brand were listed with the likeness of getting all the same sub abilities. The amiibo brand is apparently extremely difficult to reroll to identical sub abilities, something like 1 in 4,000.
Perhaps that's why Nintendo advice against flash storage?
I don't know, do they really advice against it? I heard rumors from a friend, but didn't find anything official. At least I didn't encounter any problems with USB-sticks so far, I hope that doesn't change (but now I have a backup stick, thanks to your unfortunate experience).
I really think the Splash Wall is a bit overpowered. I haven't played Splatoon in a while but I've always felt that the Splash Wall outshines all the other subs, on both offense and defense.

Not at all! I find the Splash Wall underpowered. When an enemy deploys one, I simply swim around it and kill him. Of course that doesn't work anywhere and always, but often enough. And you can just shoot down the Splash Wall, too.
My favourite subs are Burst Bombs (you can throw four of them), but the Seeker is also useful. And in Tower Control I sometimes use the mine.

Well there are a few issues I have with the Splash Wall, such as that tt provides total protection from your shots (so long as they stay behind it), it allows them a huge advantage if they manage to set it up, not to mention they last fairly long and can tank far too much in my opinion. Their only big downside is their purposely tricky to use and set up, but with a bit of practice you can basically over that. In a sense, I find them to be a bit too tanky, powerful and convenient for how easy they are to use.
Splatoon's Meta is basically dominated by these suckers (referring to the Splash Wall) and most players agree that the Splash Wall being is the best sub at the moment. Although Burst Bombs are also a bit underrated and are overall a very good sub.
Burst Bomb cancelling is so good with Carbon., definitely puts the sub high up on the list. About splash walls I just feel they need less health to stop TC abuse as it is honestly the most annoying thing considering how easy it is to pull off.
I think the Splash Wall is the most annoying in Port Mackerel. The Splash Wall fits perfectly in the paths, and makes it impossible to keep to Tower moving if one is placed in the Tower's path. I know that if you shoot at the Wall it will disappear faster, but it doesn't feel like it speeds up the process. Either way, it takes forever to take one down, and by the time you managed to get rid of one, the person who made the first one is ready to use another! Frustrating for sure; it's also very common that most of your opponents have the Splash Wall in TC. I agree with @Jazzer94: less health for the Splash Walls in TC would be very nice.
I finally got back to a B rank after falling down to a B- weeks ago. Almost went through a mental breakdown with the constant tug of war in the rank points. Whenever I'd lose, they'd take away way more points than what I'd get for winning. One time they took 14 points away.
