@pikminfan22: it's super unfair on those who may only like one of the three modes, and they have to wait eight hours to play it again. As for map rotation, I'll be OK if they just shorten it to something like 1/2 hours. 4 is too much. Also, if you are able to pick whatever mode regardless of rotation in the future, I hope they have their own map rotation, but if all ranked modes share maps, I'm alright.

This is exactly my problem! Love Rainmaker, I'm okay with Splat Zones, but HATE Tower Control. I don't want to wait 4-8 hours for Rainmaker! I also hope they make these modes available in a non-ranked system sometime in the future. I think playing Rainmaker, or any of the other modes would be a lot more fun if you didn't have to constantly worry about your rank.
I'd like each of the four game modes (including Turf Wars) to have its own individual rank, with these being combined/averaged to produce an overall rank. This would give us better insight into how good we are at each mode as well as improving matchmaking for each mode.
If the internet connection is actually on my end, it definitely still has something to do with the net servers of this game because I never have had this problem with other games. I've gone down an entire rank because of "unstable" internet connection and the game disconnecting. It has disconnected a total of six times today and each time, I have lost points.
Splatoon requires much more stable user connections than MK8, specially since the 2.0.0 update, so a (full duplex, non-inteference) wired connection would be prefferable. MK8 just guesses with players that loose packets.
That said, perhaps the upcoming 2.1.0 update might fix some user connection issues if they are caused by bugs in Splatoon, although the update notes only mention gameplay fixes.
That sucks, it sounds like the game is going to be, for the most part, unplayable for me then online. The way my apartment is designed, its going to be very difficult to get a direct wire connection from my cable modem to the Wii U (I don't have the attachment for it anyway).
I have fast, good internet but living in an apartment, it's always going to be somewhat unstable when there are so many people living so close with a bunch of WiFi equipment.

I use to live in an apartment, and didn't have a wired connection, and Splatoon was fine for me. Maybe I had better internet than you but just wanted to let you know it was very much playable.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I posted my internet speed test; I'll post it again.
The game was running fine online for the first four days or so I had it. Just recently, starting on Saturday I've had disconnects in almost every game. I don't know what the problem is and I don't really know how much Time Warner will be helpful if I get a tech out here. They all seem to have their own theories and I never feel like what they're saying is actually correct.
@Rexcalibr: WAY better than what I had lol. I wasn't able to play on Saturday, but that was during Splatfest, which means there is a huge influx of players and that means more ways for things to mess up.

@DefHalan: Not to sound design like a stupid tech jerk, but did you try moving your Wii U around? Back when I was using WiFi I could only get a decent connection w/ the Wii U standing on its side vertically and on an angle. Mine is kept in a big TV Stand under the TV so that might have had something to do with it. But it did make a big difference for me, from barely being able to connect to the eshop to rock solid streaming, just going from horizontal to vertical, weird I know.
Also, and this is beyond me, but many pages ago there was talk of DMZ and port setting and all that. I know the Wii was a mess, was very particular when it came to routers. Both my sisters have Wii and I could never get a reliable and consistent connection on either one. It's why I bought the adaptor for my Wii right after launch, and moved it to my Wii U soon after.
Good luck.
Gosh darn it, wrong reply. Sorry guy, I'll try to edit the other one in. @Rexcalibr

My Wii U is on a TV stand under the TV... here is a pic.
So you're saying if I move it to the top level it could improve with my internet connection? Does that really work?
It would ruin my whole display.
EDIT -
I am going to try the vertical stands (I've never tried them) but keep the Wii U on the middle shelf on the TV stand.
Time Warner gives you two separate Networks. Like if the name of my WiFi network was Yoshi.
There will be a Yoshi and a Yoshi-5G. My laptop and phone can connect to the 5G network. The Wii U can only connect to the regular one; I tried manually looking it up with the IP address and everything and it will not find it. The 5G is the faster network but I put the phone and laptop on the 5G network and deleted the regular one on their settings so it will never connect to them and it will only be for the Wii U.
EDIT - I've had perfect connections since doing this. I sort of feel bad for being a little rude to the Time Warner customer service lady on the phone but everything is working good now with no disconnects or lag, thank god.
@Rexcalibr: Hopefully what you've done will work better for you.If not try changing the DNS in your Wii U internet settings to an open faster one.I was having problems with mine before but since I changed this it has worked much better. The DNS below is meant for online gaming.
There's a few others you can try too,Smart DNS gives you a free 14 day trial,I used that before and it worked great.
Edit : You can also try adding the value of 10 or 20 onto the last digits of your IP number.Say for example your IP is 192.168.2.5 change it to 192.168.2.15.
So I got as high as A 99 last night before losing 2 then winning one more So I sit 2 wins in a row from A+ again. Never thought my first win of 9 points would come back and haunt me lol.
Anyways I'll be on later say in 3 hours of anyone want to team up.
