Got kicked, will call it for now as I'm tired not the best run but it might be because we've never teamed before plus some of those squads were definitely communicating.
We definitly started bad, VERY bad, but we improved a ton match after match. Althought some teams were strange, those of the last round were NOT C- and C with an S rank, I start to think some japanese players played so much that they even made multiple save files >.>;
@OorWullie: Sorry man, I was hoping we could help you raise your rank up, instead we pushed you down >.<
@BakaKnight: Haha cheers man, next time we'll do better.I was getting pretty tired the last few rounds, getting splatted left right and centre.I was sure we were going to win that last round when I saw they were C's.
Twice in a row on Tower Control, when my team was in the lead, someone (I'm guessing on the opposite team) quit and I got a "connection unstable" message and the game disconnected. Do they get penalized in their rank or at all for this?
Also, I realized they way they give you points based on which person on your team contributed the most is based on only kills, and it doesn't average your kills to how many times you died. That is really weird and makes no sense to me...

As it was explained on NeoGAF, the "Connection Unstable" message during matches is a message to you regarding lost packets on your end. FWIW, I have played many many hours of Splatoon, and I never get that message. Are you on a wired connection?

It's a wireless connection and I have a hard time believing it would be on my end. I've never gotten disconnection errors on Smash Bros or Mario Kart 8, and I always make sure the WiFi is turned off on my phone when playing and that my laptop is closed... I don't see why it would start happening now all of a sudden when playing Splatoon. It's also only happened when my team was in the lead and the match was within a minute of ending.
If the internet connection is actually on my end, it definitely still has something to do with the net servers of this game because I never have had this problem with other games. I've gone down an entire rank because of "unstable" internet connection and the game disconnecting. It has disconnected a total of six times today and each time, I have lost points.
I have owned this for a week now and this is the first time this is happening. Gonna have to give this game a rest, it's starting to get frustrating.
@Rexcalibr: I would guess that it has something to do with how your ISP is spooling out your internet service.
From my experience, Internet delivered over cable tends to be faster at times, but also jumps around a lot throughout the day. In most cases (like web browsing and movie streaming), you'll never even notice the throttling, but for games this becomes an issue.
If you think about it, there is quite a bit more data that needs to be transferred for a game like Splatoon than say Mario Kart or Smash. Sure, you've still got player locations/poses and power-ups to deal with, but in Splatoon's case, you've also got the ink map to send back and forth rather regularly!
In the end, you only really need a sustained 3 Mb/s to keep Splatoon happy, and you could probably get by with 1-2 Mb/s.
Did my part for the Autobots, went 28-20, quit when I hit King, fortunately on a win. I was mostly win lose win lose but at 1 point had a good team and won 8 in a row, don't recall that ever happening before, got my so Hawt up to 12.0.
Today played splat zone for a bit, on black belly skate park and Flounder Heights, I really should know better, won the first and got 7 points, lost the next 5, -10,-13,-12,-8,-8. I quit then at B+ 3. Really didn't feel like going down a rank. Think I'm taking a break until after vacation, too stressful.
Splatest was fun though. I now have about 47 sea snails and over 900k of whatever our money is. I'm trying get to get to a million before going on a big spending spree. Hope the week plus off doesn't screw my game up too much. Guess I'll play a lot of turf war when I get back.

Man, I just checked the Splatfest results and I clearly missed my calling as a psychologist. I said when I saw what the matchup was that Autobots would easily win the popular vote because most people like being the good guy; but that the people who play this game the most and are the best at it, meaning they get their kicks out of shooting and killing things, will overwhelmingly pick Decepticons and they will have the most lopsided win percentage we have seen in any Splatfest yet and win the whole thing. I was right across the board. The one psychology class I took in college finally paid off!

Splatoon requires much more stable user connections than MK8, specially since the 2.0.0 update, so a (full duplex, non-inteference) wired connection would be prefferable. MK8 just guesses with players that loose packets.
That said, perhaps the upcoming 2.1.0 update might fix some user connection issues if they are caused by bugs in Splatoon, although the update notes only mention gameplay fixes.
@Xyphon22: I figured that out when I was about 12 hours in and repeatedly getting my butt kicked by teams of higher ranked players. When I was winning 8 in a row Autobots seemed like a good choice.
