Ah that explains why first there was no one else in your room and then it showed me I was on standby for the next one. ^^ But I think I had enough Splatoon for today, it's getting really late here.
Private battles are lots of fun, sometimes even with uneven teams (e.g. if there are two really good players that excel the others but have to play in the short-handed team). I usually play private battles with Bizzy_Moose, a streamer on twitch. His channel isn't that big really, so it has a nice community.
But judging from the short squad battle we had, I think those are even more interesting. Playing ranked and having a competent team is more fun than random ranked matches. ^^
But still, being able to change the mode and type in private battles is also great, especially if you have a chat (like on twitch or at least a thread like this one) where people can suggest maps/modes/teams.

@Aromaiden - They probably did, but I'm not sure. I hate it when the two colors are pink and dark purple. It's hard to see the different colors in certain areas sometimes.

My friend complained about exactly this, he said it was indistinguishable on his tv. While i didn't even notice till he said something. This Transformers Splatfest will also use similar colors so i can see people complaining about that there too.

@Spoony_Tech: I also hate being orange in Port Mackerel; it's hard to see if you painted the crates behind your spawn point or not. I hope the Splatfest colors turn out to be okay, but like you said, I think a lot of people are still going to complain.

Yeah, I noticed that too when playing with you guys. I'm not entirely sure but I think it's the first time I've seen the combination of those two colours in battle. How on earth could they do that? Surprisingly, it was somewhat distinguishible, but still a bit irritating.

No problems with being orange on Port Mackerel, though.

With that out of the way: Why the hell am I still awake, earlier I wanted to go to sleep and now I'm stuck here. ^^

Don't know if anyone realises this but I hadn't played Splatoon since the last Splatfest until this morning and found that there was no mention of the results from the last Splatfest (I was on the winning side) and my sea snails hadn't increased! Seems there is a time limit. Guess I'll have to log on soon after the Splatfest is over to get any rewards.

Does anyone know where level 09 is in Campaign mode? I literally sprayed the entire island with ink and have no idea. The game didn't really do a good job explaining where it could be and the Old Weird Man (Captain Cuttlefish or whatever) appeared in the area but offers nothing other than "press this to switch between your grenades) and other lines. I need to collect one more fish in order to fight the World-2 boss but can't find anymore stages to complete to get one....

Is there also any benefit to collecting the scrolls as far as hidden clothing and stuff?

@Rexcalibr: Yes, you get weapons and clothes. Sometimes it's a little tricky to find the levels, but without it it wouldn't be challenge, would it? Maybe this helps.
EDIT: Ok I just realized the Walkthrough doesn't show you the locations in the Octovalley. But if you google "Stage 9: Unidentified Flying Object", you find videos like this one where you can see it.

@Judgedean: Interesting, hadn't thought about that! I didn't play during every Splatfest, but always chose a side and - in case of a win - got the sea snails when I logged in on the Monday after the Splatfest.

Thanks, I don't know I couldn't find it but I'll boot up my game back right now and try to beat it. I doubt I'll be going back into all the levels to try and get the scroll/papers ( I never finished getting all the star coins either n New Super Mario Bros U).

@Rexcalibr: I haven't gotten all of them either, just finished the campaign a few days ago. But you should - I guess the IGN wiki is the right place for that - at least look up which weapons you can unlock in the campaign and where. Like the two Aerospray guns (my weapons of choice), when the game was new I tried them at a friend's and got constantly splatted by them online. When I was about lvl 15, I started wondering when they would be unlocked, just to find out that you only get them through the campaign. So make sure to check those things out.

Also, I often wondered where all the players got those (non amiibo) items that you can't order at the plaza. Maybe one day you might be looking for exactly that item. But then, you can still use the walkthrough and get them.

To get your super snails, you need to log in to Inkopolis before the next Splatfest is announced.

You don't need the Sunken Scrolls other than the ones at the bosses (which unlocks weapons in the weapon shop). However, the boss Scrolls are the ones that are really easily available after you beat the boss.

The Sunken Scrolls provide lots of the strange history for the Inkling universe, so it's a fun read to get all the Scrolls.

Dual squad anyone?

I think there should be a way to report AFK players. Giving up because you're on the losing side is flat out not okay! There's always a chance to turn the tide.
