Something tell me I got to start making some Wii U friends when the update comes out since most people on mines don't even have the game, much less play the Wii U in general. Plus it would be interesting play with people on this site, who knows it might finally get me to play Ranked Battles.
In any case I'm more excited about the new lvl cap, weapons, and outfits. It would be cool if they introduce some new skills, for example one that can increase the duration of a sub-weapon. Useful for Splash Wall, Point Sensor, Disruptor, and Ink Mine (which also makes Bomb Sniffer a bit more useful to opponents).

Splatoon's Japanese Twitter revealed more details on Squad Mode. https://twitter.com/splatoonjp/status/625982176794820608
When in a group of 2, it will pair you up with another group of 2 vs. two other groups of 2 and if in a group of 3 or 4, you will face another group of 3 or 4 so the teams can be uneven.
This game sure can be a lot of fun, but just to put a warning out there, do not play online around 5 AM Eastern Time. Anytime I do (before work) I get put up against a team of hyper active Japanese players that seem to think the goal of the game is to make sure you can't leave your spawn point without dying over and over and over and over again, and I usually do pretty well otherwise. Sucks the fun right out of it though and I end up leaving angry every time. Oh, and don't ask for any tips on Miiverse. Unless you like 7 year olds telling you to 'git gud'.

(used to be Joshers744...
@Whopper744 I did that once, but I seemed to have better luck. (Wasn't great but wasn't bad either) Maybe I was playing a different mode than you. One thing's for sure though, it's basically all Japanese players.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
That would be neat to do, a shoal of squids clan.... ya that sounds weird. Now I see why there were petitions to change a group of squids from shoal to squad. Sounds way cooler. Squid Squad, soon to be a title of something like a movie, show, or band near you.

@Whopper744: Ya I had a similar case the same night when Camp Triggerfish came out at 3am est. Every match I end up fighting against 1-2 inklings that uses E-liters and somehow have the eyes and reflex of a cat and hawk that splat you before you can reach the other side. I have a combination of those 2 words but it doesn't sound clean to say outloud. Also consist echolocator tracking doesn't help.
I guess I should be thankful for those splats since by the time I played against the majority of non JPN players, I was dominating every match with the Octobrush, long story.

Anyone else suffering from MAJOR problems in Splatoon? First few weeks no problems, I would've laughed at anyone who said that Splatoon's online service was flawed, but the last couple of weeks, in particular the last few days, have been infuriating.
I've had everything, connection failures during matches, players dropping out of matches, half the team scoring 0 points making my trying redundant, waiting upwards of 3 mins to join a lobby after a previous match on that lobby ended even though there should be dozens to choose from, waiting in a lobby for the match to start with 7 other people only for the error message to say '8 players couldn't be found' (WTF!?), and of course getting booted off immediately after trying to search for a lobby nearly half of the time.
I'm looking forward to the big update as much as anyone (bucket FTW) but Jesus Christ Nintendo sort it out, it's become infuriating rather than fun as of late to play the game.
P.S. I've a stable and very good internet connection, there's no problems on my end.

Yeah, for the last few days it's been playing up. I've dropped down 2 ranks because of it so now I'm taking a break from it for the tie being.

No issues here, other than (I think?) 2 matchmaking lobbies in Turf War that didn't fill the past few days. No issues at all in ranked. In-game communication errors are usually on any of the players' sides (since it's P2P during matches), while matchmaking might be server or player communication issues.
I usually get in, only time ive seem real issues is when i played in both Splatfest Events. Ive had a few games of 4 vs NONE.... I feel like sometimes the aiming is off or peeps dont get splat though im getting all these hit markers yet they dont have any extra defense... The cursor aiming gets glitchy when im trying to spray someone just below a platform im standing on, like it aims at my feet instead of the enemy yet they somehow have a clear shot on me when they look not to be in any range.
Several odd something pages ago, I mentioned my issues with getting a lot of disconnects despite never having a single issue with my internet until I bought Splatoon. I had called my provider and everything and nothing was wrong yet nothing got fixed.
Until I bought a new router. Just a cheapo $20 USD one off Amazon. I no longer have any disconnects or communication errors at all!! Well, unless the weather is bad. My old router was over 5 years old so its possible that Splatoon's bandwidth sucking super powers fried it to be completely useless. Not saying this is main solution but it did work out for me!
Another route is to go hard-wired by getting a client adapter and a wii LAN adapter or moving your setup and just get a wii LAN adapter.
Or try putting your wii U in DMZ settings to see if that fixes your connection isses first before spending money.
