Topic: Splatoon - OT

Are all the people haivng connection issues playing over wireless? I have a LAN and a pretty good DL speed and only had 1 night where I had issues, almost everything else has gone flawlessly. The only time I even have to wait for a match is when I join friends. It may help that I live just outside NYC so players are closer, but there are almost always 2 or 3 players with unreadable names. Of course it is NYC so they could all live within miles of me if a NA Wii U can use other language fonts.

So I finally finished all tge single player stuff, I am back to multiplayer. I am waiting to do ranked until I get to max level (20) Does anyone have any tips for scoring big? I used the inkbrush for a little and was scoring big but started bottoming out, so I switched to the Zapper but was only getting about 700 normally. I am only level 12, anyone have weapon suggestions?

FYI, I am also trying to unlock all abilities on all clothing, so I don't have a build yet.

Don't know if all this is old news, but to get high scores in Turf War, I'd say these things matter:

• Paint the ground constantly
• Use the sub weapon wisely
• Use the Specials wisely (such as, when a Special is used, you also completely refill your ink tank)
• Don't run low on ink
• Don't die (that's 9 seconds of not painting)
• Win the match for the extra +300
• Paint straight forward (not towards the ground) with guns.

At level 12, you have access to level sets such as Krak-On Splat Roller, .52 Gal, Splattershot Jr., Aerospray MG, Splattershot Pro, .96 Gal, etc, which all can cover lots of ground. I really don't think there's a bad weapon set, but some weapon sets are easier to use than others.

What do you guys think the Rainmaker mode is going to be. I've been thinking about it over the entirety of my day, and I can't seem to come up with any good ideas.

Rainmaker sounds oddly self explanatory to me. Two teams compete to make it rain with their ink thus winning the match or round 1 of the match. I figure it's a fight to fill a pot or launch a weapon to ultimately hit the opposing team's side with their ink. The team on the receiving end would have a hard time making it back to the goal and maybe it counts as points since you inked the enemy's side. It could be simpler in that the weapon(think inkstrike but nuke scale) has a timer and whoever fights for control and holds it gains the advantage and devastates the other team for KOs.

I still think a good mode would be something similar to a search & destroy or whatever and each team member only has one life.

They could call it Hide & Squid :3

During the Splatoon launch window NoA tweeted that the two new modes would be released "soon" after launch. Releasing one of them tomorrow after Nintendo's E3 Direct presentation would be soon enough for me.

@MegaMari0 Your idea of filling a pot with your ink sounds familiar, but I can't remember from where. It sounds fun, whether its rainmaker or not.

That would take away the point of Splatoon. To be different from other shooters.

I can't wait to see Nintendo reveal more Splatoon content at E3 and maybe they'll release more during E3. Then after that we have Splat-fest on the 20th in NA. Wow, I'm so excited for the Nintendo conference.

What is everyone's favorite weapon so far? Mine is the .52 Gal. Ive been getting scores like 11-1 and 9-0 with that gun. I even got all 4 before they killed me, 1v4.

I don't know why, but I honestly think Nintendo won't show a thing about Splatoon at E3. I hope I'm wrong, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I have 10x more use out of the .52 Deco then any other weapon. I've tried those other ones but the range is too short or the fire rate is too slow. Don't care for charge or burst type weaons either.

Custom E-litre 3K! I can't wait to see how it functions, since I really loved the normal E-litre 3K. I feel it's somewhat underrated. I wonder how the L-3 Nozzlenose will work.

I actually tried Arowana Mall with the Gold Dynamo Roller just a few hours ago, in the previous map rotation. For me, the best way to use it was to paint and defend the home area (until the middle choke point of the map), with occasional inkstrikes to help the rest of the team. (I never used the sub weapon, since I didn't have any Ink Saver Sub abilities.) The attack range for occasional intruders is good (but the attack speed is slow). I was able to get 1,200+ on that map during my test, but with my approach the score became very relative to how many enemies reach my home area, requiring me to repaint.

I think we'll just get a small preview of upcoming dlc and ranked battle modes. Nothing huge, but that's a good thing. It gives more time for newer games but obviously I have no idea what will happen.

Perhaps we will get good coverage of the 2 known upcoming game modes in the Treehouse Live segments? Sounds like a perfect place to show those things (apart from the 8-console setups). After all, those mode should unlock before the August update.

Since there are also an announced weapon unlock appearing just a few hours after the Nintendo Digital Event, perhaps that will unlock more than just weapons?

The Custom E-litre 3K set apparently have the Beacon+Kraken.
