Topic: Splatoon - OT

So just got the game with my Wii U, any pointers?

Here are a few pointers:

1. Shoot EVERYTHING
2. Make a mess
3. Make grunts and funny sounds when you splat (kill) a player. Bonus points if people are watching you
4. Buy merchandise like squid hats and amiibo

@OorWullie: Our team for the tournament is looking to play squads tomorrow at 8pm. Are you available at all?

Also the most important thing is never go too heavy on the ink, some people get addicted to the stuff...looks at Lz

Can someone explain to me how the Tentatek Splattershot is not OP?

@Freeon-Leon: Nope. Impossible (/s). I guess one could say every weapon that is overused feels OP because you're more likely to get splatted by an overused weapon, and you could argue that a good sniper > tentatek, but idk what else I could say. Honestly it's probably that Inkzooka that tips it over the line. But it's definitely not that OP.

@LztheQuack: Well I don't grunt but I am most certainly talking out-loud to myself just about the entire time.

Uh oh everybody, next splatfest is Burgers vs Pizza...

Pizza is my favorite food so I'll have to vote for it.

@MasterWario: (Sometimes) I can deal with them easily with my MK II + 2 Attack ups but when they get close they usually do more damage than other weapons. And yeah, the inkzooka doesn't help much. _{And the fact that many japanese players use it}

Always blame your team members. Always.

Or more seriously:
1. Play through the single player campaign first, to get used to all the mechanics.
2. The Gamepad aiming is worth it
3. In multiplayer, try to master as many weapon types as possible. That also gives a better understanding of the enemy team.
4. Choose weapons that matches the gaming mode and the map rotation
5. Invest in good abilities and sub abilities that suit your playing style
6. It's much cheaper to use the shops than paying Spyke. Try to only pay Spyke with super snails (Splatfest awards).
7. Staying alive is a good strategy. A respawn is around 11 seconds of no-playing.

@MasterWario: This going to be one of those Splatfests were I'm going to want to change my team every hour, depending on what I feel like.

Pizza will most likely win the popular vote by a mile but I'm going with burgers. I'll take a good burger and day over pizza!

@Spoony_Tech: I think it'll be very close because one of the Burger ranks will be "Burger King".

@Grumblevolcano: Well in all fairness there's a Pizza King in my city as well. If course it's not a national chain but still.

Eh? Are you serious? How is the Splattershot supposed to be OP? It excels at nothing, its an allrounder weapon (that I have used often but not the most). Damage is okay, but not great, range could be much higher and fire rate could be higher, too.

On a side note, I'm a bit disappointed by the Sloshing Machine. I thought it would really work more like a washing machine, as in: You just hold down ZR (like with any gun) and it constantly sloshes ink around. Instead, you have to press ZR every time you want to shoot some ink. That's really exhausting and exactly the reason why I don't use the Nozzlenoise or other weapons where you can't hold down ZR. My fingers just start to ache quickly because of that.

It's settled then. Pizza is so easy to share, but burgers are a far more delicious dinner. Plus, Burger King... hehe, priceless!
