believe it or not, we're working with Nintendo on this but it's against their policy to put out castings on social media.
Do you know how to reach kids/parents based on locations? rankings?
@MarioKartKids: Why not advertise in the local newspaper, or through the local TV/ Radio station? Maybe set up some sort of advertisement at a mall or some other place kids hangout at.

@Tasuki not a bad idea. Just have to run it by the producers. Btw, before shows are officially announced with a set air date, networks rarely like the show mentioned in the press, so they may not allow me to go super wide with the news. Also, since this is an airing pilot, the budget is low. If the media wants money.. we may not have any money for advertising.
Still trying to find these kids on leader boards. not easy though. Definitely appreciate anyone helping us get the word out and welcome suggestions on how to reach parents/kids since we're mainly looking for gamers under age 18.
@MarioKartKids: You can try contacting the staff of the site (there is a contact form located at the bottom of the page) and maybe they can write up an article for the news section of this site to help get the word out as well.

I'd suggest that you submit a press release to the news sections of major Wii U/Nintendo fan sites, and things usually goes viral from there. (Only a minority of the site visitors goes to the user forums.) Include your full requirements in the press release. To me, at least a Wii U screen shot of the MK8 user name with the current online ranking shown would be required. (I don't know, perhaps there is an easier way to submit the current online ranking.)
Some sites to send such a press release to:
www.nintendolife.com (yes, this site)
www.nintendoeverything.com
www.gonintendo.com
www.wiiudaily.com
I'd also try to contact the news sections of major gaming sites like http://www.ign.com/wii-u. If they choose to cover such a press release, the ripple effect is huge.
Even if Nintendo can't help you with the social media part, perhaps they can help you with forming a technically good requirement list?
Does anyone know how to find KID GAMERS (ages 12-18) in the Los Angeles area who have mastered MARIO KART 8?
They should be playing the game at a level of 8+ out of 10.
Too bad that people keep doing the drift jump, online. They don't even realize it makes the race basically impossible for everyone else, including others that know how to do the technique, unless they want to ruin the game on purpose.
If someone one is all far out in front because of it, they cause lag and forget that everyone behind them is still dealing with items, even if they also know the drift jump. Kind of sad.
But I think it should just be one pack, reusing the graphics from existing courses instead of being completely new. Donut Plains 2 for example. Just to keep development costs and time down.
Edgey, Gumshoe, Godot, Sissel, Larry, then Mia, Franziska, Maggie, Kay and Lynne.
I'm throwing my money at the screen but nothing happens!

Lol they know what they're doing. It's called "ruin da game", people did that in the Wii days, and there was some exploit in MKDS as well that made winning impossible for others if you knew how to make it happen. Just in different ways, like driving backwards and hitting people with the good items. You get kicked out now if you drive backwards too long, but there's different ways to screw things up now and people abuse it for fun. But it is annoying nonetheless, I stopped playing because of this reason. It doesn't really bother me that I don't win but then there's only two scenarios, where EVERYONE is getting triple mushrooms over and over and nobody can pass each other cause everyone is going full blast but can't catch up, or the items get mean with mostly triple reds and greens and everyone's just spinning out and crashing while 1st & 2nd place get even further ahead than they were before.
lol I was really going to attempt to play again the other day but I was like "oh yeah... the items, nvm"
The item balance is so whacked out I've been crying for years
@Dankykong: There were much worse issues during the Wii/DS days and that was how prominent actual hackers were. Spam lightning until everyone disconnects...
@Dankykong
The problem is that they don't think you can beat them. That's the impression I've gotten from players who do that it online. I can do the drift jump to get the extra speed, but if their drift jump gets them far ahead enough in the race, it lags the game, because their console already loaded part of the race that hasn't been sent over the internet, yet. I've literally not been able to play if someone abuses it. That's besides that there's items, and the only item they have to worry about is the blue shell, but it doesn't even matter if they lag the race anyway.

Ya. One time some guy was spawning stars that were just over the first twist on the GCN DK stage. They were leaving stars on the ground to make it look like they didn't just get a star from nowhere. Once I took the star they left, they started blue shelling me til they won. I'm honestly surprised no one has action replayed the Wii U games, honestly, even though Nintendo Network is being slightly more moderated over Nintendo Wi-Fi connection.
@SCAR: Yeah it's not impossible to beat them. I've beaten beginner or intermediate cheaters who weren't good at avoidance or couldn't always do the drift for long amounts of time, and I probably got lucky a few times. I probably looked like a cheater too cause I'd catch up but still everyone else would fall back. Blue shells are pretty much their only worry but you can still avoid it if you time it properly of course.
@Grumblevolcano
I've seen videos but I never experienced that level of wild myself. They took care of old problems and there's new ones. I feel like MK7 is the only one with online where there weren't really any notable exploits. I never really heard of them anyway and it didn't seem like people cheated...?
I kinda wish I would have been able to see someone dropping stars everywhere, I can't really imagine it happening before my eyes. Sometimes I question if the videos on YT are online or 1P. Lol it seems fake. No "action reply" for WiiU? Probably due to lack of interest. But they do have that WiiU emulator for PCs now so maybe eventually.
