Well on the other hand, Square Enix wants MILLIONS of sales on each platform, not a "measly" 400,000...
Look at how they reacted to Tomb Raider's 4 million sales....which weren't good enough
400,000 is a good chunk of sales for a company that is getting a bad reputation. There's probably a good profit to be made on the Wii U, and any profit is good profit. It also creates new Final Fantasy fans. New fans are made every day; I only became a fan like 2 or 3 years ago, and now I'm obsessed. Creating a larger fanbase is what Square-Enix needs, now that many Final Fantasy fans have been abandoning the series since Final Fantasy X.

^It's not like it's impossible to save up for a PS4. It'll be a year or two before it comes out, the PS4 will likely go down a bit in price by then, and if all else fails, you could always pick it up when the price is right and you have the money. It's Final Fantasy, it's not like it'll be hard to get a few years after release. Maybe by then the PS4 will have more games that interest you, and if not, that just means you can sell it for a small depreciation when you're done with it.
Not saying to give up hope for a Wii U version, but it's not "your only hope".
The only series that Sony has that really interest me are Jak and Daxter, Team Ico (Ico, Shadow of the Colossus), Final Fantasy (which has been on other consoles), thatgamecompany (although I heard they might develop for other consoles), Resident Evil (which is on other consoles and is in decline since Resident Evil 4), and maybe a few others. Unless some new IP comes along, or some series take a dramatic turn, I can't see myself buying a PS4. I also don't want to pay a monthly membership for PlayStation Plus.

You don't have to pay for plus. We told you that 10 times already. And you don't have to get Sony series. You could get it for that one, maybe two games if you're interested in KH, and then sell the thing when you're done. You wouldn't even need to chop much off the purchase price, since you could say you only used it once.
I'm a Wii U owner, and I will say this: I DO NOT want Final Fantasy XV for the Wii U.
Why? It will just be a port, and for the most part, ports FAIL. Case in point: Why isn't SE releasing the game for the Xbox 360 and PS3? Is it perhaps because it can't handle the same kind of power as the Xbox One and PS4?
Let's face it: the Wii U is a 7th gen console in an 8th gen's clothing. Otherwise, we would be hearing much more about the Xbox One and PS4 games also for the Wii U.

But you only have to pay for PlayStation Plus (which is amazing and only $50 a year) in order to access online multiplayer. Most of those games you mentioned probably won't even have online multiplayer (except for perhaps Resident Evil). And why the strong bias toward PS Plus? Considering you get tons of free games for only $50 a year (which is $10 less than a brand new $60 game), I'm trying to see what's so bad about it.
And considering the PS4's library will likely ramp up rapidly over the years (while the Wii U may only provide Nintendo and indie games), I honestly can't see you avoiding the PS4 without torturing yourself. I highly doubt that you will ever see a main series Final Fantasy game on a Nintendo console again if the next one is behind the competition like the Wii U is.
Even something like Tomb Raider which is more than possible on the Wii U is not coming to the console because there's no profit in it. So how do you expect a AAA next-gen game to come to the Wii U? It's not going to happen, simple as that.

It's more just the principle of the whole thing. The PS3 did just fine without requiring payment for online gaming. The only reason Sony is doing it is because they saw it worked on the Xbox 360, and they wanted more money. It's essentially the same as if every gas company decided to double the price of gas for no reason.

Ports are usually only slightly worse than the original game. They may suffer from worse graphics, more glitches, and slowdown, but that's about it. And the reason it's not coming to the PS3 or Xbox 360 is because Sony and Microsoft want people to buy their new consoles.
The Wii U is perfectly capable of running FFXV, as was previously agreed upon by many, many people in this forum.

Again, as I said above, it's more the principle of it all. I don't want to support this corporate strong-arm of the consumer.
As for torturing myself by not buying a PS4, I only really played my PS3 for the PSOne classics, HD Remasters (PS2 games), The Orange Box (A PC port), and a few others like Final Fantasy XIII, Resident Evil 5, Skyrim (another PC port), 007 Quantum of Solace (which was also on the Wii), Uncharted 2, and maybe a few others. The console didn't have many original excusive games that interested me. That's why I'm sticking with Nintendo this generation. Because they consistently captivate me.
EDIT: We have proven FFXV is possible on the Wii U, and I don't know why Square-Enix is ignoring the Wii U. Probably because fans aren't vocal in the Wii U fanbase, even though they need to be.

No, Trust me, this fanbase is more than vocal. But that doesn't matter. In business, numbers matter, and in the eyes of many publishers, the Wii U's numbers aren't good enough right now, and don't seem to have much chance of drastically improving. What more proof do you need?

Besides this forum and that petition that I signed, I haven't heard anyone else talking about this issue. And if you look at my figures I presented earlier, a Wii U version of FFXV would almost certainly turn a profit.

Yeah, no...even as a port, the drastically increasing costs of making games means that they're gonna need more money than that. There's a reason JRPGs don't get ports within the same generation that often (In fact...I think The Tales Series and every Dreamcast RPG are the only ones to do that, to my knowledge). They're HUGE games, ports would be expensive to make even if it was easy to do, and unless it's on a platform with a ton of sales, there's very little guarantee you'll make the money back. That's why most of the ports that there are for JRPGs are to consoles with a lot more sales. (or at least more of the demographic you're looking for)

Let's face it: the Wii U is a 7th gen console in an 8th gen's clothing. Otherwise, we would be hearing much more about the Xbox One and PS4 games also for the Wii U.
Basically every game the PS2 got, was an Xbox port, so...
Wii U has more specs than the Xbox 360 and PS3, so...
I don't get it, you guys are saying that Wii U is weak, but it's GPGPU is at least twice as capable as the Xbox 360's. It also has 33× more OS RAM, and 2× more game RAM than the Xbox 360. Then it's CPU is efficient, and has the same amount of eDRAM as the Xbox One.
The specs are better in the Wii U, than either the Xbox 360 or PS3. It's fact.
The GameCube never got X, or XII, even though that could easily have run those and then some. XV most certainly cannot be run on the U without serious sacrifices (And no, it wouldn't be some minor graphical glitches or worse textures, etc., it would be smaller areas, less enemies on screen, bad frame rates, and other very bad things) and even that is speculation. Just what is in the trailers would likely not run on the U, and the game isn't even close to finished. Remember that people have also claimed the Dreamcast was more powerful than the PS2, that the Jaguar and 3DO could compete in power wise with the Saturn, and many other things that are in all likelihood, not true.
Since Final Fantasy left Nintendo, the only time Nintendo has done even remotely decent with third parties was during the GameCube days, which, as stated above, did not get a mainline Final Fantasy game.
The Wii U has a tiny install base, Nintendo doesn't predict for that to improve ATM, and making a port of the game that isn't absolutely horrendous (If it's even possible, which I doubt), would cost tons of bux.
The Final Fantasy fanbase moved to Sony over fifteen years ago. Microsoft is getting the games because of the extreme ease of porting between SameStationBox and similar demographics. Also, if it's anything like XIII, it will be extremely controversial and get shunned by a large part of the fanbase anyways.
I'm not trying to sound mean at all, but if you really wanted games like this, and you were only going to get one system, the U was probably the worst choice you could have made.
Ports are usually only slightly worse than the original game. They may suffer from worse graphics, more glitches, and slowdown, but that's about it.
They can suffer from a lot more than that and have a lot more problems. AI, physics, world size, number of enemies (or anyone really), view draw distance, number of objects in an environment, and number of things going in a set piece. All of these can suffer from a lack of power, and all are potential problems from the Wii U's lack of power compared to the PS4.
@8bitsamarai
That's far from settling the thread. If you want to look at specs, compare PowerPC to ×86 architecture. The specs don't even mean the same things, otherwise they wouldn't be be different architectures in the first place.
Comparing the Wii U to Xbox One, would be like comparing a sedan to an SUV.
EDIT: We have proven FFXV is possible on the Wii U, and I don't know why Square-Enix is ignoring the Wii U. Probably because fans aren't vocal in the Wii U fanbase, even though they need to be.

I was afraid you'd say both these things...if no one else is talking about it besides you, then that just goes to show that no one else wants it. Which only helps the point that it wouldn't turn a profit. That's not even talking about the huge elephant in the room that no matter how much we demand it, no one will listen. Millions demanded, petitioned, begged and whined for Bravely Default. Nintendo was the one who stepped up to get it localized. Localized. Not ported, just...translated (though they did decide to add features once they got Nintendo's backing, though). If they couldn't even do that, then what makes you think we can change Square's mind about not bringing FFXV to the Wii U when everything's so stacked against it?
And I'm not going to do a "sales projection". I will hazard a guess and say that they'd need at least a million sales...which right now is roughly a third of the Wii U install base. And trust me, you should never shoot for that much, 10% at most is usually the best you can hope for. Even if 600,000 was good enough...that's still roughtly 20% of the install base.
As for proof, if they drop back the thread, I can give you a lot of testimonies on the matter.
