It is certainly the GBA with the best screen, it looks great compared to the SP and the original model... Just a little small.
I like to carry mine around, being so small. I think it actually goes out more often than my 3ds. I use one of those carrying bags for phones that come with multiple pockets, can fit the system and three extra games.
@Morpheel: Yeah is small but apparently the pixel density is amazing and everything looks super crisp! And the backlit screen is the best of them all! I've got a gameboy player for my gamecube but I've alwyad preferred playing GBA games on a GBA system (feels more natural I guess) But I love how small and how portable it is will be awesome for bus rides to shool and back which take about 40 mins!

@TingLz: I am so jealous. I want a Gamecube (last two I had died on me) but I just haven't got around to it. I do however have a BC Wii but I don't know just something about having the GC.

I am in the process of getting a Gamecube (yes it's retro you old farts) and some games. I got Viewtiful Joe and Paper Mario TYD already.
my farts are anything but old.

@OneBagTravel: That's really cool actually! I loves the OG GBA it was just too dark and the sp was good in the dark in daylight the backlit screen was kinda useless! Micro is bet for me as it's affordable and it has a very sharp screen and is also incredibly portable!

Just purchased a near mint silver GBA (non SP) and I plan on doing an AGS-101 screen swap.
I watched a video about a guy doing a battery test between a modded AGS-101 screen and a standard front lit GBA and the backlight actually pulled 20% less power than the older front lit screen so he managed to get something like 24 hours out of 2 AA batteries with the mod vs 20 hours without. He was surprised by the results and so was I.
@OneBagTravel: That's sweet let me know how it goes. On a side note my fire emblem GBA order got cancelled as the guy lost the copy! So I had to pay £50 to get it boxed seems like that's the best price though as when I looked everywhere else I could hardly find any copies boxed!

Yeah some of those rare GBA games are silly. No boxed FF VI is $50. Collecting just a few games has become pricey, i'm not even a Complete In Box collector.
So having really enjoyed The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang on the SNES (and after having found out something new in relation to it on The Cutting Room Floor at the beginning of the month), I decided to order Super Naxat Open: Golf de Shōbu da! Dorabotchan on the Super Famicom which I received last night. And so far I'm having fun with it... even though I'm not exactly good at the interactive golf genre XD But I'll learn to get better
Well, if you count Virtual Console games as retro purchases, I got Adventures of Lolo and SMB a few days ago. If not, then my last retro purchase was the GBA version of Super Mario World.
@WaveBoy: I hear what you're saying Wavemeister; it's why i barely post outside of this thread except to point out how stupid something or someone is.
To me though, regardless of the general disinterest i have in a large amount of current gaming (there's plenty of stuff that i do still like, but it doesn't scratch that same sort of itch, if that makes sense), that doesn't really affect my overall interest in gaming. I still like to follow the industry in general, but as far as actual games/gaming — i see it very analogous to my tastes in music. While there are a few more modern groups/acts with songs that i enjoy, at the end of the day, i don't give a crap about like 90% of it. I'd much rather put on the classic rock radio station (or one of the SiriusXM retro themed stations), or put on some Beatles, Floyd, GnR, Nirvana, etc (i still feel weird thinking of Nirvana as "classic", but hey, Kurt's been dead for 20+ years, after all).
But you know where we are. There are still a handful of us good'uns here (you know who we are), but again i have to agree on the "can't relate" thing. Maybe it's just age (though i hardly think that's the whole of it, since i still have the mentality of a 20 year old, lol), but — not to go on a rant here — honestly i'm dumbfounded by some of the idiocy and naivete of a lot of the users on here. I know you've been around NL for a while, and though some may say it's just rose-colored glasses, i think you'll agree that it honestly wasn't like this say 5 years ago. C'est la vie.
I guess it doesn't help that i don't give two craps about things that seem to be the lifeblood of a lot of the modern NL'ers — Mario Kart, Smash, Pokemon, Kirby, et al.
Anyways, back to some games; i might hit the retro shop later today. I do have a few recent pick-ups to post (including the item that i mentioned in a previous post that i thought got nicked in the post, but turns out it was just buried under snow, lol), but i may wait until i have a few more things before the next ShpydarhaulTM update.
Just ordered Fire Emblem Path Of Radience for £70 I hit a bargain in terms of pricing for that game so now the only one I need is radiant dawn which isn't too hard to find!
