To be fair, there are native English speakers who are just as bad, if not worse, that totally deserve the same amount of ridicule. No quarter to the unintelligible. The moment you give 'em an inch, the site'll turn into another Tower of Babel, like GameFAQs and /reddit...or even small scale sites like Giant Bomb...

Just FYI. I dunno anything about punching, and even less about Basketball. I also haven't played the game in question (as in Arch Rivals. I have, unfortunately, had the displeasure of playing Basketball) myself, so...

They deserve to be disincentivized from utilizing poor english while posting on a primarily English-speaking forum, as does most everyone else (though, thankfully, the number that have required any direct methods have been few and far between). If that requires ridicule, then so be it.

I think everybody deserves ridicule, myself most of all.

Yeah, that might've been a bit harsh. I figured it'd say the same thing as the post I made above, but obviously that wasn't the case.

Really, communication in general is difficult enough as it is when everyone involved is reasonably fluent in the language they're speaking. When you get Gobbledeegook like that first post, however, it does no one any favors, and personally, I just can't let it slide so easily all the time. I mean, it's just frustrating to read. I picked out two key words, and I think I provided some further info so others with more skill and patience could try to decipher it, but I have no idea if I'm actually on to something or not. I could just be making it worse.

And really, I know it's difficult for a lot of people around here, especially non-Native speakers. But a lot of those people also clearly put in a lot of effort when they post with the people around here. Which is great, in all respects, but I don't really see why I shouldn't expect that kind of effort from others. While communicating is difficult, at the end of the day, all we really do on this website is communicate exclusively through text - whether it's learning about Nintendo-related video game news, discussing articles, or posting on the forum, like we are now. If someone isn't willing to put in the effort to communicate, why are they even here?

Because Arch Rivals is a cartoony sports game (basketball) that I assumed featured punching.
I never played it.
