@urrutiap I had read somewhere that Xbox Series consoles seem to download slower if there is a game running in the background (including if it's using Quick Resume), but I've never actually tried it to see if it's any quicker.
To be honest I haven't really noticed it being overly slow, although I don't have a last gen console to compare it to; the last "proper" console I had was a PS3 so obviously the games would be a lot smaller by comparison and most of my Switch downloads tend to be indies.
well i dont have any other game running while im installing a game that i bought off of the X Box Live store.
That shouldnt be the cause.
It pisses me off every time whenever I buy and download/install a game off of the X Box Live store it literally takes whole day or even day and a half just for the frikkin game.
Never takes that damn long when I had to buy a game off of the PSN store for my Playstation 3 or even from the eshop for my Nintendo Switch or 3DS.
The 60fps patches for previous gen games might be coming next week. Or being announced officially next week.
Spanish youtuber ElAnalistaDeBits says he has something to reveal on the 17th, and says Microsoft have given him early access to some information.
Well his channel is almost entirely dedicated to performance comparisons between different platforms. Like Digital Foundry but without the commentary. So it seems like a reasonable inference that it's the 60fps updates.
Picked up a Razor Kishi and holy ****, getting to play full xbox games portable is amazing.
I lay in bed last night playing Destiny 2 and it looked gorgeous and (apart from a few drops) played amazingly. I will more than likely play the indy stuff on it as well as hunting achievements which will leave big screen time for more competitive sessions or raiding.
LOL
I already have 9 XBOX 360 games and 2 XBOX games but still don't have the machines yet. 😅
The XBOX 360 USA version was really hard to be found in Indonesia. Actually i found 1 seller that still have an Original XBOX 360 slim USA version but i think i can wait for next year as my priority on this year is building Wii U, PS3 and PS4 games. I still don't have enough space to put one more video game machine.
@urrutiap quick online search shows that the issue isn't that uncommon, even with Xbox One. Unfortunately most of the "Solutions" offered up by internet experts are the always-useful "switch it off and back on". Could it be your ISP throttling your connection? I do vaguely remember seeing suggested router settings for Xbox somewhere, but can't find it again.
@urrutiap Quick question: are you on a wired connection or wi-fi? It's always better to use a wired connection, especially with high volume content such as for game consoles. Wi-fi is fine for streaming but you don't want to be downloading tens of GB's at a time with it.
As for solutions, here's some stuff you can try, to see if that works for you:
@urrutiap It might be just your ISP. Sometimes I notice stuff downloads slower at busier times i.e. peak hours. You might also have a cap on your data and you have reached it. I would check with your interenet provider.

@urrutiap have you checked your router settings or is your provider throttling the downloads?
I downloaded MCC, Destiny 2 and Gears 5 in a night on XsS so if its taking over a day for 1 game something is wrong.
Yet another indication that we're getting big news tomorrow, probably on the backcompat enhancements. Wow, this combined with the Nintendo Direct, it might be the biggest day for gaming all year.
What previous gen games do people most want a 60fps patch for?
I'm really hoping for Red Dead 2, Final Fantasy XV, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Spyro Trilogy, Forza Horizon 3.
And yes I'm aware some of those have patches on Series X, but I'm on Series S so those are all 30fps still. And obviously games like Witcher 3 and GTA5 are desirable, but those already have enhanced versions being worked on by the devs, so I don't think they'll feature in this.
I turned my Series S on, and it... went straight into a random game? No menu or anything. It went (bam) game. It’s not even a game I have played recently or anything.
I haven't had that specifically but the Instant-On power mode is very weird and I have had some random behaviour from it, in terms of which games it seems to keep paused in the background.
I've turned that power mode off now though, because there were those reports about how it wastes a lot of power. The alternative version is totally fine so you should just use that.
