@ThanosReXXX You mean the online setup disaster? Because the Xbox One can install and play disc games offline just fine.

The Series X needs to download a config file every time you install a game.

Shame that MS did nothing to improve upon the Xbox One. They keep it the same but little worse for One games. At least I hope in 2 years when real Series games come they would Not have that online "issue".

The online aspect could exist with the offline functionality. They just wanted to kill the second hand market. Greedy idiots...

The only thing that "online" can helt to enhance the experience is to afford DLC and patches. Nothing more. So forcing that greed on the platform resulted in the Xbox selling way less than the competition.

I still love my One X but those idiots tried to bury it harder than Sony the PS Vita.

My Mrs has just bought me a Series S, really excited as it's been ages since I've had an Xbox so I finally get to play Gears 5.
Now to spend the next 2-3 days watching for the delivery guy lol.

@Zuljaras you can play games offline on the Series as far as I know.

@Eel yes you can but only after you have downloaded the config file from their servers. Then you can play the game otherwise you can't start it.

@Zuljaras Oh, you mean, like, the first time you use a disc?

I have the Series S so I can't use discs anyway. I thought you meant you had to be online to start the game every time.

@Eel yep I meant only physical games

I really hope when new games arrive they would NOT need this.

@Zuljaras Yeah, that's probably a combo of both DRM and online check to see if you have the latest version of a game, which might necessitate updates. Disc versions aren't always up to date, nowadays...

And luckily, the config file only needs to be downloaded once, whereas the Xbox One always online disaster, aka "Xbox One the Don Mattrick way" was FAR more intrusive and ridiculous.

Thanks to a tracking website, as soon as Curry's had stock at 7 am, I managed to order an Xbox Series X. I already had a PS5 so I'm all happy. My wallet on the other hand... not so pleased with my impulse decisions.

My Series S arrived today (leas than 24 hours for delivery). Playing Cyber Shadow while I wait for some games to download.

Ugh, saw on the Push Square forums that PS4/Series X shortages are going to continue until the 2nd half of 2021 (original estimates were shortages ending by April).

@Grumblevolcano I feel embarrassed to say I may have stayed up 2 nights and kept a constant eye on my phone all day at a tracking website just to nab an Xbox Series X. I feel like I was drawn into the hype/desperation of the whole limited stock just a little too much. Thank God it's payday this week.

I have a question. Why do most weekly Xbox sales really suck? The one at christmas was really good, but I haven't bought a single game in their sales since then.

a mega sale going on the X Box Live store. sales for Dead Rising 3 and 4 along with Just Cause 3 and Just Cause 4 along with Silent Hill 2 and 3 HD on sale again.

all day earlier today i bought Dead Rising 4 and its still installing which is taking forever.

Installing a game off of a console's live store never took this damn long for my Playstation 3 or even with my Nintendo 3DS where it would take about a short hour to install.

Games off of the X Box Live, well i swear any game off of the X Box Live store takes literally a whole day and half just to frikkin get a game installed

well i cant stand it waiting for a whole day or day and half just for any X box game to install.

I never have this problem when buying and downloading/installing a game for my Nintendo 3DS or Playstation 3

Well someone must have read this thread, because this week's sale included both of the 2 x360 games that I'd been waiting for. GTA4 and Lost Odyssey.

Pretty much the only X360 games that I'm waiting to go on sale now are the Fable games. After that I've got all of the ones I care about.
