Yeah that's the problem I am having I try to sync it to my tablet and wherever I am in my house my Xbox turns on.

Well, maybe just ignore it let it turn off on it's own. I think it does that, right?

If you happen to have two xbox one controllers, perhaps it would be worth it to designate one as the tablet controller.

Do you have any other types of controllers? Maybe an 8bitdo? Those have multiple profiles for cases like this.

Edit: You can also try to turn off the xbox using the controller itself. The controller stays on for a bit, and you can sync it to the tablet then. Just hold the home button until the controller vibrates, then press up, left, and finally a.

I have three Xbox controllers, one is mine one is my sons and this new one. I am trying to sync the my controller to my tablet and my new one to the Xbox.

I’m not sure what’s the problem then. It should not turn the Xbox on after you’ve synced it with your tablet.

I just tried with my main controller. Once I tied it to my iPad, it immediately stopped looking for the Xbox.

I had to go up to the Xbox and start the pairing process again there.

The Gears 5 DLC comes out today/tomorrow. Anyone planning on playing it? I'm currently using my free month's gamepass ultimate, so I might just marathon through the DLC in a single sitting.

@Ryu_Niiyama Same. I have everything except the "remaster" trilogy on XB now. Hate have to rebuy the rest, since I just bought those in the past year on PS...but oh well.

DS5 is definitely the best PS controller that has ever existed, ergonomically. But it's still a step behind XSXS controller in melt-away ergonomics.

@Dezzy Ain't that the truth. Just bought Doom 2016 for $6 the other day. Eternal was $20 but I didn't get it....still too much while it's on GP anyway. I feel quite silly paying $60 for 2016 on Switch now

Greedfall is, what, $12.50 this week?

@Dezzy I preordered it back when it became preorderable but for some reason it's not installing properly (update and DLC went live 4 and a half hours ago. Maybe it has to be on the internal drive?

Nevermind, it's working. Haven't played much but it seems Hivebusters performance on the OG XB1 is 60fps, I guess open world is why the base game campaign has a rough framerate.

Hey the Hivebusters DLC is pretty damn good. I kinda wish it wasn't just a completely separate story from Gears 5, as it feels like they should've just put this into a brand new game like with Gears Judgement.

This has some of the nicest environments I've ever seen though. Uncharted 4 level stuff in here.

@NEStalgia I sorta wish I’d known MS was going to get the series but then again I’m not sure I would have held back. I had to talk myself out of buying 7 soooo many times. Well good to know about the DS5. I haven’t been playing PS much since I just started Greedfall and I am still playing sakuna. As predicted, poor Miles Morales is still in the shrinkwrap.

@Ryu_Niiyama Heck, I knew MS was probably going to get the rest of the series eventually and couldn't stop myself from getting the last trilogy on a PSN sale in June anyway. It'll be cheap enough here eventually.... Though the remaster of the last 3 is sort of rough, IMO. A 1080p upscale is about all it offers. I'll double dip and probably never play them!

How's Greedfall? Seems kind of generic from the outside and I heard it was kind of repetitive with asset re-use and backtracking. It's sub-$13 on this week's sale (it's on GP, too, but when I see sales >60% off it piques my interest to just buy and not work on a timer. Doom 2016 was $6 last week...couldn't help it.

@NEStalgia I’ve only just started but it feels like ME1 with a colonial sword and sorcery setting although the dialogue options are a bit clearer. Combat is a bit floaty like ME1 as well. I’m a little squeamish on the theme so I suspect I’ll end up turning my back on the royals and standing up for the indigenous people (even though that wont stop the greed of those that want to occupy land no matter what).

I just wanted a lite RPG with romance options I care about.

Well, in the most basic senses, I suppose it isn't too revolutionary, @NEStalgia .... That could be said about a lot of games, though? Can't say I've really played anything else that's similar to it, though! Just what have you heard, probably very little?

@Ryu_Niiyama Sounds kinda cool. Maybe I should try it on GP (I think it's on GP now) and buy it if it checks out. Yes I'm cheap enough to require references before trying something for free on a $10/mo subscription before spending $12.75 on it.... .

I feel kinda guilty downloading so much data this past month. I'm sure I'm well over 2TB....that's not network abuse, right?

Hopefully it's not too preachy and trying to hit a political message over the head? Whenever a story broaches obvious political themes I like when it doesn't try to preach into existing bias and makes you consider that all sides are right from their own point of view. When it can make you question if the wrong side is the right side and the right side is the wrong side, all depending on vantage point. Then again that just inspires the classical philosopher conundrum when you realize everything is hopeless, pointless, and there is no actual good in the world.

That was always the high and low point of Spector's design in the original Deus Ex. No matter what you do, the world is effed because that's how the world is....and you get to pick whichever outcome makes your stomach turn slightly less. So realistic!

@BruceCM I hear a lot of talk about it, and most of it is hype-based rather than play based. And then I see "Focus Home Entertainment" and I figure - how is there hype for that? At least it's not CDPR.

The big thing I've seen is that it's a small budget RPG, and that always comes with compromise. Reused assets, backtracking - kind of the flaws Halo 1 had.

Well, it's not as long as some £50 games, @NEStalgia .... But I'm sure it did come to GamePass in the last week or so! It's more like a solid game, that quietly does a few things slightly differently & has some little quirks in comparison to most, with some nice little twists, etc So, without being incredibly innovative, overall, it ends up being quite different from most other games!

Manged to snage an Xbox Series X yesterday. I am so excited now, just have to wait for it now to arrive.

Massive christmas sale is up on Xbox. The most notable deal I found was Battlefront 2 for like £5. You'll never find it that cheap ever again!

In case anyone has Cyberpunk 2077 on XBox & wants a refund, MS have specifically expanded their policy to cover that game ....

Welp that game has been a bit of a mess hasn't it. I'm kinda sad because people seemed very hyped about it, and it kinda flopped like a magikarp.

On the subject of Xbox, I decided to buy Stardew Valley (yet again) on it, and have been playing that there.
