I've been playing Cyberpunk this morning on Series S and it looks "ok" - I mean, it runs smoothly but you can tell it's based on the One S version. It would have been nice to have some proper enhancements but I think I might wait until it gets upgraded next year to play it through properly. I'd just like it to look like a next-gen game
Yeah I just booted it up. The Series S version is a bit disappointing as it is. There seems to be no performance mode option, like there is on the Series X, so it's locked at 30fps as far as I can tell.
It also seems to be locked to sub 1080p. The image is very blurry. Almost as if it's 720p or something. I think we're getting the resolution they had to use for the previous gen console.
I'm thinking I'll just wait until they've significantly upgraded it. 1080p 60fps frankly should be the bare minimum on a new console.
Are you gonna continue playing then? I'd wait if I were you. I bet some upgrades will be along quite soon. I think with the Series S version, because they just didn't have the time to optimize all the different versions, they just gave us the standard One S version.
I'm thinking that's the sort of thing they'll fix in the first month.
@Dezzy
No, probably not. I might play a bit more but i'll then probably leave it until there's a full next-gen version next year. If they improve the graphics noticeably, sooner then i'll have another look but was a little disappointed this morning so i'd rather not be thinking about the graphics not being all that great when i'm playing
@Dezzy
I'm not sure it was that low but could be, was pretty blurry. I did try playing a bit more but just got fed up in the end. I'll wait and see what Digital Foundry say about it as they know their stuff
I've actually uninstalled it for now just because there's not much space on the SSD and I had copied some stuff to my USB hard drive so I can copy them back and wait until i hear about any improvements
I almost end up getting a Series S. My dad offered buying it after seeing it on an ad.
I pained me to do so, but I decided to cancel the order. Because I know I don't need it right now, and my best One games are physical anyway so I'd need to buy everything again digitally.
Flight Sim console coming summer 2021 (XB1 version seems to be cancelled)
Yakuza 3-6 coming to Xbox
Skyrim coming to Game Pass December 15th
Halo content in Fortnite tonight
Among Us for Game Pass PC
Think I've listed everything. Anyway, so much for "you should temper your expectations", this is definitely one of Xbox's stronger presences at the Game Awards.
Mildly excited about the Yakuza ports. I own the whole series except the psp version but dual shocks cramp my hands. I may wait until I get the new twins to see if I like ps5 controller but I don't mind triple dipping. (I have the ps3 releases)

And yet now I'm sad.
Man, just do it. I sold my entire retail collection on the xbox. I've already bought like half of it back in digital form. There are so many big sales where you can get old games for cheap. Lol I sold Witcher 2 on the 360 for £15 and the next week it was only £4 on the digital sale.
I don't think it would be appropriate to ask for something I already rejected. And well, I already spent enough this Christmas. Can't really justify buying it myself at the moment.
But don't worry... Consumerism will, uh, find a way. Eventually.
Hmmm, turning off Film Grain and Chromatic Aberration really improves the image quality in Cyberpunk. I was saying before it looked like the Series S was at like 720p or something. If you turn those 2 settings off, it looks way better. Might be 1080p after all.
Does anyone know how to go about unsyncing an Xbox controller from the Xbox One? I want to use my Xbox One controller on my tablet but it's currently synced to my Xbox One so so when I try to use it on my tablet it turns my Xbox One on and off.
