@Grumblevolcano Ohh, good point, this is true. You do have to play some of the main game which acts as kind of "tutorial time" before expansions get unlocked, @Anti-Matter.

Hmm....
After hearing some feedbacks here, i will think again if someday i buy Xbox One games, i know what games i should pick.
Right now, i just gathering some informations and will reconsider some suitable Xbox One games if i have a bit interest to start Xbox gaming. 🤔
Thanks for the information. 😀

@Grumblevolcano Wonder what the heck was originally in that box that says "redacted"...

@redd214 Sarcasm, huh? Alrighty then... I think you completely misread my intent, but whatever.
Don't need any pat on the back for "getting the times right". Just like you always do, I just wanted to add some useful info for people that might not be interested in Forza, but would like to see what other stuff Microsoft would show later in the day.

@Anti-Matter And of course, you'd also be able to play Sims 4 and all the interesting new expansions for that...

@NEStalgia Ah... there's our old, nagging NEStalgia again...
I actually thought the Bethesda presentation was fine, and the live action bits were actually a nice addition. I also always liked it, when Nintendo used to do that, with the Robot Chicken inspired bits. But tastes vary, I suppose...

So Konami has a special announcement for us tomorrow at 5:30pm PDT / 8:30pm EST June 11 / 1:00am BST, June 12. Any bets on what it'll be?!

I liked the show, the Lego expansion looks fun and Cyberpunk 2077 looks gorgeous and tons of games coming to Game Pass which is already great value. It was obvious to me that they wouldn't give many details about Xbox 2 and how can people expect them to "show" a console that they are still building? LOL It will probably look similar to S and X, who cares. They said more than I expected about Scarlett/Anaconda though like release date and technology it will be based on: SSD, custom Zen 2 and Navi processor, ray tracing support.

Oh, Elite controller series 2. That's probably the best gaming piece of hardware you could possibly buy and will get it if my Elite ever dies.

Halo Infinite will launch on S, X and Scarlett but of course I want to play it on Scarlett and not on Xbox One. The difference is not minimal like when playing Breath of the Wild on Wii U or on Switch. LOL

Next year we will see a lot of new games from the new studios and hopefully Fable and Banjo.

@ThanosReXXX It's completely different from the Robot Chicken stuff - that was entertainment added to the presentation itself, outside the scope of games. The Bethesda stuff is what they presented as the games. Their trailers for the bulk of games in their presentations weren't actual trailers for the games, but basically the same thing as those 90s TV commericals for SNES games featuring live action that ultimately looked nothing at all resembling what the game was.

Where Robot Chicken stuff was just fun fluff added to make the presentation of actual game trailers fun, Bethesda skipped actual game trailers and just had fluff vaguely imitating the games instead. The worst cases were the card game and Cdr. Keen game where what they finally showed on screen was a very primitive game, that had nothing to do with the exciting things they showed. The next worse case was TES:O with the cinematic dragon scene. Which makes it look like they're selling an action game with super next gen graphics. When in reality, they're selling a TES:O expansion that looks and plays nothing like that at all. Imagine a Pokemon trailer consisting of actual kids in a forest throwing balls at some giant rhino thing, but what you got was X&Y. In 1994 that was "cool" but today it's just "false advertising."

@BlueOcean Oh yeah, I almost forgot the Elite 2 announcement! I was waiting all Fall for that, if you remember, finally just caved and bought another Elite....and then they drop the 2 now. Grr. It looks slick though. Hopefully it fixes the build issues of Elite 1. Sad they caved to the demands for a built in lithium battery making it disposable though....I kind of liked the replaceable batteries of the normal and Elite controllers. The last controller with normal rechargeable batteries is going disposable after all. The tensionable stick rumors were true after all!

And yeah, I meant to comment on Game Pass getting cool. I have 2yrs left, and was going to drop it after that because I don't use it much, I buy most things I like that are on it...but so many games they showed being playable with it is pretty appealing....I'd try out a number of them that I otherwise wouldn't buy.

@NEStalgia I would have preferred AA batteries too but I assume that the rechargeable battery is replaceable. The controller looks awesome, too bad you already got a regular Elite but at least if ours break eventually there is a better version available. I also play games on Game Pass that I would have not got otherwise.

By the way if you guys have Gold or Game Pass you can upgrade to Ultimate for £1 and if you have both Gold and Game Pass you get extra months.

@DarthNocturnal Fix that and it's not Elite anymore. Seriously, I think the Elite is great value. The other controllers are relatively expensive compared to it (Xbox One, PS4 and Switch).

@BlueOcean It would be a nice perk if it was just a Play & Charge pack that's replaceable, but I would nearly guarantee you that it's your standard fare sealed design controller you'd have to bust the casing open to even attempt pulling the battery (like Joyon, Pro controller, DS4.) Adding a door and removability adds to production cost, so it's unlikely and "non-standard" today. I hated that people were demanding they make a "modern" controller with a built in battery when they already had a nice replaceable battery system going. Looks like they went for it.

@DarthNocturnal Still cheaper than the 3rd party high end controllers Sony licensed (and half of those don't work that well....) Vantage is like $200+ for wireless.

NEStalgia

Banjo-

@NEStalgia I wouldn't like if the battery was not easily replaceable, I can see it as a possibility but at the same time the backlash would be considerable. I hope that Microsoft clarifies.

"Stay in the game for longer with up to 40 hours of rechargeable battery life and refined components that are built to last. Charge the controller either inside or outside the carrying case with the included USB-C cable and charging dock".

@DarthNocturnal You can buy several games for that price but you can play tons of games with it. It's not $200+ like you said, it's £159.99 / €179.99 / $179.99. If it was $60 like the other controller that you mentioned it would be cheap plastic. It's not just about the extra buttons or profiles but the quality of the controller, the quality of the customisation and how it feels in your hands. Have you played with the Elite controller? Not even Microsoft expected it to be as successful as it is.

I too thought it was ridiculous to spend a couple hundred bucks on a controller. Then I sprung for the Astro C40. Granted it's a ps4 controller but same principle as the Elite. I have found it to be well worth the price. Obviously it's a niche/luxury buy but wow it makes a difference. Going back to a regular one is almost impossible.

@DarthNocturnal I didn't remember that you are Canadian but if you just write "$200+" then everyone (on this British website) except the ones that don't forget where are you from are going to assume you mean US dollars which have a higher value. And yes, you would be paying CAD $238.75. I checked for you. Oh and you don't have official price yet:

It's empty. :S

@DarthNocturnal For the Elite v1, yeah it's quite a markup over the stock controller at over double the price. It definitely costs more to make. Metal, rubber, 4 additional buttons that survive lever-action, trigger locks (interconnecting stoppers that withstand shearing force that a gamer under stress might put on them, and the levers to operate them, flash memory with profile storage. There's definitely more to the controller...but not 110% more. The V2 adds an LI battery, more flash ram, and expensive things like spring tensioning adjustments... and a second set of trigger locks. They raised the price...though it has a dock (bah!), and more alternate sets of buttons (mini rear triggers which I kinda like.)

All in all it's very nice, but it's not a "I need to replace my v1 with this right away" kind of upgrade either, which is nice. It's nicer, but it feels like a hardware revision more than a redefined controller.

As long as they're more durable...

NEStalgia

NEStalgia

@BlueOcean I really don't think there would be much backlash....the public accepts disposable electronics now. People buy $1000 phones that get tossed in a landfill in 24 months due to the battery. It's "normal" now, unfortunatley.

NEStalgia

Banjo-

@DarthNocturnal You can always save money with game deals and hopefully you find a good retailer deal for the controller. The Elite controller is for Xbox, 360, Xbox One and hopefully Scarlett games when you play on Xbox One or Scarlett... PC too if you play on PC (I don't). It makes every single game feel better, that's why I recommend it in spite of price. It's like the Xbox One X. Do you need it? No. Every single game runs better (even old games) on Xbox One X? Yes. I have an Xbox One X and an Elite controller and I'm not even a hardcore player and I don't even play too much but the time I spend playing I'm having the best experience (yeah because PC is a hassle for me).

@NEStalgia I don't buy expensive smartphones (that's how I save money) By the way, the original price of the Elite series 1 is €/$149.00 so the price difference is €/$30, makes sense considering the extra features that you listed. I am not going to upgrade, I'm not rich, but if mine breaks I would get the new model as long as there is a way to replace the battery as I hope.
