Topic: Worst FPS game

@alex... I put Killzone 2 there for a reason. To me, its proof that you can put big explosions on top of horrible controls, ridiculous storyline and endless waves of the same enemy types on top of an imbalanced difficulty and it sells. Because it looks good. IMO it modern day FPS garbage. I did put about 10 hrs into it, and it just got worse.

I've played far too many FPS games to list. I do remember Quake 4 I think it was on N64 was horrible. I got the cart somewhere still. I bought it after finishing the phenominal Doom 64 and ended up just playing back through Doom.

Oh....and your also right about all this fanboy BS. It has gotten back really bad again in this site. Im getting to the point of taking a break from NL for awhile again might be needed. It's childish BS that does nothing but shows just how closed minded some actuallyare.

@machu .... this is true. Its still just frustrating at all the two sided fanboy BS. Why do people feel so compelled to defend the Wii when its proven itself over and over that it doesn't have to have under power to make great games. Galaxy 2 confirms this.

There have been very few Microsoft/Sony fanboys on this site in the year+ I've been here. The Nintendo fans here talking to themselves literally troll there own threads lately. It is becoming more and more lack of content in threads.

@slapdude: I can't really comment, as I too have my fanboyesque moments. :/ But yeah, a thread like this I ignore, as I know it shall only invoke teh rage. I only checked it 'cause it was on the front page, and then was perturbed to see you so perturbed.

@machu.... I've never had a prob with anything you have ever posted, I honestly get a massive kick out of your whit. Especially the Mach Rider lol.

I find myself posting out of frustration more and more lately. Ex. If Halo had been developed by Nintendo, all the Halo talk would not be here. Look at the Conduit 2 recent article... split screen multiplayer. Us Nintendo gamers love it. Halo had 4 console multi link and 4 players per console local multiplayer. It is incredible. Not to mention one of the best split screen co-op local multiplayer. This is stuff Nintendo fans scream for!

I'm not saying you have to like Halo,its an extremely polished and well made series. Doesn't deserve what it gets here,like a lot of other NonNintendo games get as well.

@slapdude: Well, thanks for the compliment (ya crazy man). As you've been so nice, I shan't go into any detail about my feelings toward Halo. I'll give you a little hint though... and that's coming from a major FPS fan.

Hold the phone, I just remembered that I owned Turok Evolution at some point. THAT was the worst I played. Admittedly, some of the weapons were pretty fun to use.

@Machu.... and that is perfectly fine my friend Play exactly what you enjoy, that is what gaming is all about isnt it? We all have our differences and that is what makes us... well us. I thoght the first 2 Halo were outstanding, but the 3rd was more of the same. But I have friends who LOVE it. Hey, great for them, they are having a great time gaming and thats great. That is just how I am. I have much different taste in gaming myself. Lots of games with bad reviews I actually enjoy, and lots of my favorite Nintendo titles (WaveRace 64 is my Absolute Favorite) are not most peoples. I consider Mario 64 the best Mario ever, 1080 is pure bliss, etc. Im actually more of a 3rd Party Gamer myself. It seems most everything I buy is 3rd Party lol. Waiting for Metroid Other M is killing me as Team Ninja is by far my favorite developer.

All things said and all, I guess it all sums up to lately people here have no respect for others opinions. Its seems everyone has to agree. I kinda hate that as it hasnt always been this way here, and that is exactly how other site are. My post in random thread will prob be pretty limited again lol. I just dont enjoy all the hate!

Worst FPS for me.... I don't know really, Die Hard Vendetta was an FPS wasn't it? Really didn't like that... and I played it on the Gamecube!

Sorry but there are indeed those (some, not all) that hate certain games because they are on certain systems.

I just threw Killzone 2 in there as any random FPS to illustrate if people were picking between two games, calling one the 'worst' isn't saying much.

Killzone 2 did have an oddly tuned control scheme and the main thing going for it was the graphics. I thought it was still fun though.

Well they would have to because it'd be a different game...

I'm not exaggerating anything, everyone who said they don't like Halo has been accused of not liking because it's not a Nintendo game.

People can actually have opinions and just might not like the game.

The revolving point has been SOME people hate certain games because they are on certain systems. As far as I know, that point cannot be simplified any more in order to help you understand.

And there is also a difference between 'not liking a game' and calling it 'the worst FPS ever'. Something else you seem to be missing. Nobody has said it's impossible to simply 'dislike' Halo, Call of Duty, or any other popular franchise.

What? each time someone says Halo it's been met with 'You'd think differently if Nintendo made it' or 'You haven't played many FPSs then' the accusers haven't accepted that someone could genuinely not like the game.

True, but I find it's generally Nintendo fans who hate Halo. I know some people genuinely don't like it, but it seems like a lot of haters are just people who dislike what they can't have.

That's not what has happened at all.

What has happened: Several people have listed the game as 'the worst FPS ever' and they have been met with rightful criticism.

People can dislike whatever they want. The problems arise when they take popular games, criticize them for common shortcomings, and label them the worst ever when there's many more games in the same genre suffering from the same shortcomings, except to a much larger extent.

and so what? it could still be the worst FPS they've played in their opinion, we don't know how they feel about games and what games they've played.

I have already said this.

If all they have played is Halo and Call of Duty, then of course they can label one the worst they've ever played.

It's worth noting that in the post though, and a majority of those hating Halo have played a surprisingly large amount of FPS games. What a coincidence.

They're accusations that SOME people HATE certain games because of the system they're on.

When someone on a Nintendo site just says Halo, without anything to back it up, of course it'll meet criticism.

The ideal way for this thread to work, would be to have people provide their reasoning along with their choices. The Conduit, for instance, is a game a lot of Wii owners have played.

Which of the mentioned Halo shortcomings could not also be applied to The Conduit? Coincidentally I haven't seen The Conduit listed as the worst FPS game ever all that often.
