@Alex..... you are dead on the money. Thing that gets me more than anything else here lately. Say the words IGN around here and look at what happens. Not too much different than when you say Microsoft or Sony. Here is the big kicker of it all.
Why do the Nintendo fanboys here hate IGN? Always the same "IGN hates Nintendo" stuff over and over, even when Ive seen Many Nintendo praising articles and very high review scores on Nintendo platforms from IGN. Maybe they are biased to the other consoles, Im not too sure I havent been to IGN in a long time. This is where it really get interesting for me though. You hear this "the other sites fanboys (Sony/Microsoft) are this, that or whatever" and all this over and over about how horrible all the Sony/Microsoft fanboys are. Well guess what? If you come to Nintendo Life you have the exact same fanboys here.... Them! Yep, the same ones screaming all that are posting nothing but pure nonsense here about Sony/Microsoft over and over to nobody who cares. Just like IGN and all the rest of them. If it wasnt for Nintendo Lifes policy on foul language, you can bet it would be full of it here as well. Sometimes people need to take a step back and look at theirselves in the mirror. You may just be what you claim to hate so much. Im not high and mighty, its just the truth!

I had so much fun with that cow launcher! Project Swarm, I was lead to believing it would be a good game, the controls sucked and I despise that game now. Die Hard With A Vengeance and Conflict: Denied Ops are two that I've played (and own/ed). I'm sure I could find some others if I really tried.

I wasn't that nuts about Half-Life: Blue Shift. It's definitely the worst in the HL series I think. Especially since I played it after Opposing Force. OF actually introduced new things like Race X and new weapons. BS was more of the same. Basically felt like an average HL mod you had to pay for. And they really overdid it with the Headcrabs. They stuck those things in every possible corner and vent. Headcrabs are fine with they're used sparingly. Too many however, and they're just really annoying. Valve learned this at least.

Don't forget that Valve didn't make Blue Shift...Gearbox licensed the HL engine and universe for Blue Shift and Opposing Force.

Yeah I know. I was just saying that at least Valve learned not to do that. They haven't put Headcrabs in a vent since HL2, and that was only once. They actually seem to be getting better with their placement. I nearly jumped when that Poison Headcrab came down at me after I broke a web near the end of the Antlion Caves in Episode Two. I definitely didn't expect one to be in there!
Oh, headcrabs, how I love you yet don't want to get kissed by you

Ah, my fault. I misinterpreted what you were trying to say.
And yeah, to the followup poster...the headcrab in the red barn definitely made me jump. Haha. There were a few hilariously placed ones in that game...in my most recent playthrough I forgot about the one that's waiting on a ledge for you on the treacherous climb into the Citadel. The little b***tard made me panic...and fall a loooooooooooong way down to my death. I'd have been upset if I wasn't too busy laughing at the fact that Gordon survived all that just to get spooked by a headcrab and fall to his death. Sorry, humanity!
Oh yeah the barn Headcrab. I ran into it my first time playing HL2 on the original Xbox. I was totally expecting one to fall down too. I was expecting the Citadel Headcrab as well, but I think it ended up jumping past me and falling to the bottom.
I think the worst surprise I ever got in a HL game was in the laundry room in Nova Prospekt. There's a back area, where your Antlions can't follow you. I decided to go back there, taking the left side. I check the room, nothing there. I go into a smaller room where some supplies were stored. I get the supplies, hit the wall with the Crowbar a bit, and start backing out. I start to turn around and HOLY CRAP. (Moan 1 is the sound it made) I didn't even try to fight it, I just ran. It threw a Poison Headcrab in my path and I just batted it with the Crowbar and kept going back my Antlions. I looked back and the PZ stared at me for a few seconds, then walked back.
I hate those things so much. And that isn't the only area where they can spawn in behind you.
Any time I see a poison headcrab I panic and fling grenades and start swearing at the screen. True story.
There were at least two poison headcrab zombies that scared the CRAP out of me the first time I played. Since then I remember where they are...approximately...but I still get a jump.
(EDIT: Masz just mentioned one of the poison headcrab scares of mine. My other one was in one of the abandoned buildings on Highway 17...in an upstairs room that you can't really see into until you climb up to the destroyed second floor...by which point you'd better hope you brought some clean underwear.)
One of my favorite things in the entire game is the little collection of houses you explore just before you cross that AWESOME bridge from beneath. You can clear out the Combine and other pests from those buildings...but you'll still hear this awful, wet breathing sound...with nobody around to be making it. Absolutely chilling. Even when I know where it's coming from, it's not always easy to spot him down there...underneath the building...
...I get shivers just thinking about it. Such a perfect game.
Well there's definitely people that aren't huge fans of the series since Halo 3 hasn't sold as many copies as there are 360s.
Let's say a family goes to Walmart looking to buy a system for their family. But there are no Wiis in stock and the PS3 is more expensive than the Arcade Xbox360, it seems logical that they would buy a Xbox and some E rated games, but not Halo 3. Unless they have a little patience and wait for the Wii to come back in stock.
Is there more or am I missing something? lol
I was just pointing out that there's roughly 40 million 360's sold and about 11 million copies of Halo 3 sold.
I'm not so much concerned with the demographics, only that it's clear there are definitely a few 360 fans that aren't huge fans of Halo. Which would include the families looking for the E games.
I'm just saying that when I worked in an electronics department of a retail store... a lot of families bought the 360 cause there was no wii instock. But, Halo wasn't part of their purchase. And that could cause a difference in the amount of 360s and the amount of Halos... Not 29 million, but it's still probably pretty frequent. Parents don't seem to pay attention to the amount of E games, if they are idiot trailerparkers that don't realize there 7 year old shouldn't be playing Medal of Honor... sorry, tangent.
@Alexsays My opinions on the halo series wouldn't change if they were on the wii.
If it was a Nintendo franchise, I bet it would.
No, it wouldn't. I don't like every franchise nintendo makes. For example, I don't like the pokemon and pilotwings series. Also I doubt nintendo would make something as uninspired as halo.
