Wildjammers.... at first I thought it was a new Sonic game (I haven't heard of Wildjammers before)... and then I thought Camelot had something to do with the game since the music sounded vaguely familiar...
Wow, Sony nailed it! Great mix of utilising their past classics and bringing out new stuff.
....yeah, I mean, there were definitely a lot of remixes. And collections. And remakes that aren't really remakes. Though, I guess they were the remixes.
Uncharted spin-off(?) looks amazing. And TLOU2, I take it back @Peek-a-boo, I got more excited than I thought I would! I don't know, if they can make it work, bring it on! But man, that looked amazing.
Gravity Rush 2 still looking good, the DLC too. Horizon's still awesome, can't wait. Knack 2!? That's just Sony trolling though, but whatever, maybe I'll play the first one now.
Crash looks a bit uncanny though.
Rave Vane iirc, an indie game, looked awesome. That's definitely something I'm going to keep an eye out for. Also, Ni-Oh is looking better than ever!
All in all, great conference. Lots of remasters too, but whatever, there was certainly something for everyone to look forward to.
I never wanted to continue Joel and Ellie's story, but as soon as 'Part II' appeared...
I'm ready!
Oh man. That was a GREAT conference. The jubilation when Marvel vs Capcom 4 was shown was brilliant! Loved seeing the likes of Crash Bandicoot, PaRappa the Rapper, LocoRoco and Patapon too.
WipEout Omega Edition was my highlight, just because it is one of my all time favourite PlayStation franchise.
Sony allowed the games to speak for themselves with minimal chatter, and minimal interruptions. To open with a ten minute Uncharted gameplay/cutscene was a good choice. Pleased to see Chloe back!
A shame that Final Fantasy VII Remake wasn't shown (again), but that's just me nitpicking.
I have a feeling that name is going to be more fitting than they intended.
I mean, I wish I could share your enthusiasm, guys, it's just that ever game they showed that appealed to me, I already played...
Except GR2, but...I'm only looking at news posts now that its over, so I'm mostly focusing on newly announced stuff. And no, an upcoming game getting DLC post-release doesn't really count in my eyes.
Solid conference. The Last of Us Part II, Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy, WipEout Omega Collection, Ni No Kuni II, etc all look great.
Knack 2 feels like it was designed specifically for Gaf lol.
@CanisWolfred Not sure what I was thinking, but I remembered an 'A' and a 'V'...
I meant "Vane" sounds like "Vain", and it looked like more arthouse drivel, but hey! I guess that could work, too, for those on the opposite side of the fence.
I'm liking what I'm seeing from Ni No Kuni 2. Hope it does some good new stuff and isn't just a re-tread of the original, as much as I loved it. The new battle system seems to lend credence to that, can't say I will miss the familiars of the first game as long as this new system is fun. Hope it comes out in 2017 and isn't delayed too, and if it is sufficiently multiplatform that will be fab.
Oh and I am terribly conflicted over the announcement to the sequel to my 2nd favourite game of all time. I'm thrilled that it's Joel and Ellie returning but I ain't got a bone in my body that thinks it'll release even by 2018, so I'm not losing my mind over it. Yet. Plenty of time for that though. But still thank God they did the right thing, for me anyway.
Apart from that none of the other stuff did anything for me. The nostalgia collections are from series/genres that I don't care about, though I'm happy that folks who like 'em will have a way to play them on PS4. Ya hearin' me people losing your minds over there in the Switch thread? Remasters happen all the time and they're perfectly A-OK.
Oh and seeing that the Danganronpa series will come to PS4 is great, wanted to play those games for ages but haven't had a way to do so.
@Grumblevolcano February 28, we already know the release date. The trailer links to the pre-order page that has the release date too. I mean, this wasn't a standard trailer either, more of a ''Remember this? It has cool environments and enemies too, pre-order please!'' type of trailer.
@Grumblevolcano I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Disappointed but not surprised. Game looks amazing and plays great from the 10 minutes I had at the Paris Game Show but รก la Persona 5 a stealth month or two delay is still something I'm bracing myself for.
The highlight for me was Yakuza 6 and Kiwami. The PS4 games will be my introduction into the Yakuza universe.
Uncharted DLC looked neat. I can't believe I'm saying that.
TLOU 2 is... detailed. Not really into it, but it's undeniably impressive looking. I kind of wish they'd move on to other characters, though.
Wipeout Collection... eh. Always seemed like watered down F-Zero to me, but at least Sony tends to fans of its older franchises. If I get anything like this, though, it'll probably be Fast Racing NEO for my Wii U or Switch.
The Crash remasters are pretty decent looking. I wonder if they touched up the physics and handling, though. The vehicle segments in Crash Bandicoot: Warped were terrible.
Ni no Kuni II is still gorgeous. I hope it either stands on its own or we get a remaster of the first game, though.
Honestly, this conference wins, if nothing else, for including things they normally ignore, like Gravity Rush 2, Danganronpa, and the Vita.
