@Ralizah I love Wipeout, and even I can't get excited for that new PS4 collection. I mean, Wipeout HD was already a collection of the PSP courses for Pete's Sake! (and Wipeout Pure for the PSP was, in turn, supposed to be a "return to form," basing some of its tracks on the ones from older games)
Wipeout 2048 was the only one that had a lot of new courses and whatnot, and even that needed to suppliment its tracks with some of the ones from the PS3 game (Mostly from the Fury DLC, if I recall correctly). They're gonna need to show off some new singleplayer modes to get me to come back and play a game that is between 3 and 10 years old, of which I've already played extensively in that timespan. :/
Suprised no one has mentioned Ace Combat 7. Looks like they're abandoning the real world focus of Assault Horizon, and are returning the series to it's roots.

Wait, that was shown? This is known?! That's the best news I've heard all day! I gotta check that out...

Well Nintendo can't even be bothered to do a F-Zero X or F-Zero GX remaster, at least Sony's doing something.
Example: Gravity Rush Remastered was originally going to be digital-only in the US.
There was fan backlash.
A physical version was made exclusive to Amazon.
Nintendo would have just ignored them and released it digital-only anyway.

Eh, maybe I'll be a little less negative now that things have settled:
1)Fallen Legion looks neat, albeit...mobilish. Which it should, since its a mobile port, so it has a lot to prove...but I got a good feeling it'll be worth keeping an eye on.
2) I forgot how much I enjoyed Hand of Fate, and the sequel looks pretty well setup. So, I got that to look forward to.
4)Ysssssssss!!!! Origin That was the only one (aside from Ys 5) that was mysing from the Vita's library, so I'm looking forward to closing that book- wait, did it say dotEMU was handling the porting?
5)Dreadnought...just....Dreadnought. I wanna say I saw something else exactly like it on Steam (and I'm not thinking of the Steam version, there are 2 different games about 10 space battleships fighting eachother in a team-based environment existing simultabneously and competing for the same market space), but at least now I can have one a platform I generally prefer.
8)Towerfall guy's doing a thing. And that "thing" seems to be more of a straight-forward singleplayer platformer this time around, which I honestly welcome. I really liked Towerfall's singleplayer portion, not the least of which being due to it's tough-as-nails, bite-sized challenges, which he's promising to expound upon.
9) Have I mentioned how difficult I am to please with top-down shooters? Well, I am pleased with what I am seeing in Nex Machina. Amused even. Perhaps, dare I say...even a little excited?
...no, that'd be line best not crossed...
10) And oh yeah, they're updating Bulletstorm. I mean, I recently(-ish) bought the PS3 version, so...I doubt I'll rush out and buy a remake at this point, unless it has a lot of new stuff to offer. I know it's got Duke Nukem in it, but...that kind of lowers the overall value of the game rather than adds at this point. Then again, I recall Bulletstorm being a fun game, unlike anything Duke's been in previously? We'll see...
NOTE TO SELF:
Check out Ni no Kuni II and Gravity Rush 2 trailers when you get a chance
(Also, when, how, and why did all the spaces go away when I used bulletpoints? I had to switch to numbering just so it'd be easily skimmable, and yet that is what bulletpoints are for...)
@CanisWolfred I've played Fusion on PS2 and whatever the one on Vita was called. They always feel way too clunky for me.
It's too bad they're not remastering the older games for series fans, though.
...to be fair, "Fusion" was the game that warranted a "return to form" in Wipeout Pure. 2048 was also a little different in terms of general feel and track design philosophy, albeit in a much more understated way than what Fusion was going for. Still, it's more like "Gran Turismo with hover-cars", only without the career mode (although 2048 had a fair amount of singleplayer content, iirc), where learning the tracks is half the battle, and at least a third of it is also getting used to way each car feels in accordance to that track...the "clunkiness" is part of the charm, if you're willing to put in the effort.
@CanisWolfred That's fair. I'm not really a fan of racing games to begin with. The only series I enjoy are F-Zero and Mario Kart: the former for the intense, twitchy racing action (seriously, even the SNES one surprised me with its speed), and the latter for the creativity and general insanity.

About The Last of Us Part II, you know how they said it was very early in development. Well, about that, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson apparently received their first scripts two years ago, and the motion capture started at not long after and they have been filming for at least a year and a half. So this game might be further in development than they were suggesting. To me they made the impression that they started development a couple of months ago, but it's been a lot longer than that it turns out.
@Ralizah
"only series I enjoy are F-Zero and Mario Kart"
For about 15 years I shared that exact same opinion. Nothing else interested me.
But then I played Sonic Racing Transformed for Wii U (and loved it so much I bought on Vita), which redefined my beliefs. I learned Mario Kart was no longer king of the cart racers, to my unexpected amazement.
Then I played Excitebots for Wii, which is like Excite Trucks but crazier. What a great crazy racer that was.
Then it was Burnout Paradise, and learned that the arcade racer has every bit as much to offer as futuristic racers and cart racers. Burnout Paradise to this day, is a gem.
Then I played Wipeout 2048 on Vita. All I could think about was how much I wanted it to handle like the almighty F-Zero. How much I wanted cylindrical tracks. Ultimately I ended up putting in a lot of hours and really enjoying the game but compared to F-Zero, it's just... off.
But after I got an Xbox One, I finally played Forza Horizon 2. Oh... my... goodness. You want to know what a good racer plays like? Try Forza Horizon. When FH3 released it was an easy day one, and without a doubt stands as one of the greatest racers I've ever played in my life (only ones that can compete would be F-Zero GX and Sonic Racing Transformed).
Then I got PSVR and tried DriveClub VR, despite having no interest in DriveClub beforehand. I've got to say... my eyes were opened. I was shocked when I discovered how amazing DriveClub is. I mean, really good. And in VR? Ohhhh!!! It's bliss. Try DriveClub. I think you'll be surprised at how arcadey it plays.
And now I've reached a point where I've basically given up on a new F-Zero. I'll just play GX in HD on my Wii U from time to time. Thankfully I've also come to realize that there is a whole host of amazing racers out there aside from F-Zero and Mario Kart.
And now, I see this Cruise N Blast arcade game co-developed by Nintendo. Pray for a Switch release... pray...

@Haru17 True! I've read some people saying that a 2018 release window is still unrealistic. Considering how development started probably right after TLOU, I don't think it's that crazy. Anyway, as a big TLOU fan, what did you think about it?
@Octane The announcement trailer? I dunno, it's just kind of a non-event for me. Here's the rub: I'm a college newspaper writer and therefore quick to remember relevant information, and even quicker to discard redundant info. So, when they come out with this trailer without anything really "new" — just what we all assumed Ellie would look like sitting in more or less a voice acting booth, singing and saying some vague threats — I can't convince myself to be excited.
I want Naughty Dog to do something new, whatever that may be. The Last of Us Part II may even be that "new" thing — hell, I can always do with more of Ashley Burch's voice acting — they just have to show me the new part. The Firefly tease was cool from a direction perspective, but the trailer overall gave me less to hang onto than the then-untitled Zelda U did in 2014 (tentacles, lasers, mountains, Link in contrasting colors).
Anyway, I guess I'm excited for it, I just don't feel it yet.
@JaxonH I've tried Sonic Racing Transformed on a few different platforms and couldn't really get into it. Which is too bad, because I actually like the character selection more than Mario Kart. But the handling, flying, music, course design, etc. just didn't appeal to me.
@Haru17 I like the long, meandering titles in a lot of Japanese media. It's a nice contrast to the Western tendency to create titles as brief as possible (how many books, movies, etc. have one word titles these days? It's ridiculous)
Although Japanese ones can get a bit... too long at times. Like the manga: "Gun-Ota ga Mahou Sekai ni Tensei shitara, Gendai Heiki de Guntai Harem wo Tsukucchaimashita!?" That's not a title; it's an abstract.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah Uh, hate to break it to you, but Gravity Rush 2 is far from a happy medium. The full Japanese title is "GRAVITY DAZE 2/Gravitational Dizziness Final Chapter: The End of the Repatriation of the Upper Stratum, Choices That Converged Her Inner Space."
