I'm not gonna watch the presentation as i know the games will be announced = 99.99% rated Mature.
A slim chance for PS5 kids games announced from the trailer.
I will wait until someone post kids friendly PS5 games by text first.
If Sony does these 2 things, they have learned from Microsoft's mistakes with the Series X event earlier this month.
I wouldn't say that they've learned in that case, because that's assuming that they never planned to show a first party game and/or gameplay in the first place. And that's just very unlikely all things considered. Look at their latest two State of Plays; 20-minute deep dives that consist mostly of gameplay. Most of their game reveals are always followed by a gameplay demo; like HZD and God of War. So I wouldn't worry about them not showing any gameplay.
For Microsoft it's just that they didn't show any first party stuff, so I don't know how big their say was when it came to the content. It was a bit weird, but not the end of the world. They're going to show more soon anyway.

If you look at the top selling PS4 exclusives, it's Uncharted 4, God of War, Spiderman, Horizon Zero Dawn. Those are the sort of thing you should probably expect from this.
Kids stuff will mostly come from 3rd party developers.

The only 1st party PS4 game i have and play just Ratchet & Clank.
I don't care with Top Selling.
I don't care with those popularity.
I don't even care with those games you mentioned above, not even the slightest and will never ever like any of them.
What a loada bull. Unless one of your main launch games was "police simulator 2020", I don't see what these 2 things have to do with one another at all.
Most of us aren't even american and live in properly functioning countries. Now we all have to adjust our lives because of america?
I don't see anything positive about this at all. I see only a group of executives in California trying to pander for political brownie points in their local environment.
They don't even care about deaths. The coronavirus killed a lot more people that the US police have. Yet they weren't going to stop it for that. They ONLY care because of the large media exposure. It's purely about media image, not helping people.
@Dezzy Yeah I don’t think Sony all of sudden got “woke”, unless Mark Cerney been giving some bulleted powerpoints on socioeconomic oppression or something lol.
But the US is their biggest market and this puts them in a good light. They also want to hog the Twitter spotlight I assume, and right now that wouldn’t happen.
Regardless, July and August are going to be packed full of announcements. Expect that.
@Dezzy
Uh, I don't disagree exactly but the reality is that this is a cynical marketing scheme before they delayed it, so I don't see why it matters. And this is from someone who likes these over-the-top video game announcements.
Just in the past 3 months I can think of a 100 far more insincere things said and done by companies to pretend to care about current events and people. This is pretty reasonable and tame by comparison.
I have to say I kind of regret buying Days Gone. The game is such a drag and not fun at all—Jack of all trades master of none. At least I didn't pay 60 for this. I don't understand how anyone can would anyone say Days Gone is an underrated classic(which is not. Not even close.) or also defend it.
The Harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. When the going gets tough, the tough gets going.
@Dezzy Realistically, Sony delayed this event because they knew they weren't going to get as much attention atm with America burning itself to the ground.
In this case, they also get an easy PR win by virtue signaling on social media.
Win/Win

I'm not so sure about that. I mean the percentage of the population who are actually protesting or rioting/looting is bound to be pretty damn small. It's almost definitely less than 1% of the population.
When you combine that with the fact that it's a purely american problem, so everyone throughout the rest of the world is still paying attention as normally, I can't imagine the difference would be noticeable in terms of the viewcount.
The only actual pragmatic reason I can imagine is that they rely on having their announcements trending on social media. Which probably won't work so well atm.
I feel pretty bummed about this. For various reasons. I sort of agree with everyone. It's kinda stupid that they had to delay this event. But at the same time it's stupid that protests like these are still needed in some countries today.
But it's maybe a weird decision for a global company. Nintendo isn't going to delay their Pokemon presentation today. I mean, it's doesn't come close to the scope of a console reveal, but still. But I also wonder why this one, and why wasn't COVID-19 a cause of delay, because that's still going on as well. I mean, we have basic human rights protests in HK, and everyone carried on like it's usual business.
I also feel that this year has been absolutely awful in all aspects, so maybe a little celebration would've come at the right time.
I dunno, it's disappointing, everything. But it's not the end of the world (but maybe the end of Sony's marketing budget with all the ads they had running on TV for coming Thursday). Anyway, I also realise that it's a double edged sword, damned if you do, damned if you don't. Welcome to 2020 I guess.
But at the same time it's stupid that protests like these are still needed in some countries today.
Protests like these are not needed though. Actual intelligence instead of mindless political tribalism is needed.
In the US system, it's the mayor and county executives who select the police chiefs and negotiate their contracts with police unions. Therefore if people really cared about these problems (as opposed to just acting out to make themselves feel self-righteous), you'd see a massive voter turnout at mayoral elections with people putting massive pressure on the elected officials to fix the problems with their police.
This is why I hate politics. Most people don't care about actually solving problems, but just pretend they do. Politics is much closer to religion than it is to engineering.
