Persona will never come to switch, and I'm tired of the endless port begging. Persona 4 Golden isn't a demanding game at all, so you can easily just play it if you own a pc. Persona 5 is on Ps4, and I know people are against buying a console just for one game, but at least you'll end up being able to play said game, instead of just begging over and over for a port Atlus has no interest in giving us.

I bought a Switch for SMT V, not Persona 5. I just want SMT V. I get it's in demand because of Joker in Smash but the amount of people crapping their pants and throwing a hissy fit on Twitter over it is actually stupid
I hate to be THAT guy but at this point some of these people really need to just cave in and buy PlayStations or just another console/PC in general instead of clinging onto a port that not only doesn't exist but also wasn't even remotely implied to be a thing in the first place
@Slowdive I know you can't see this, but in response, I'm pretty sure that the Japanese still care about Playstation, despite Sony abandoning the market. Mainly because Japanese game companies still support the system, like Square and Atlus.

There's always going to be Japanese interest in PlayStation with or without Sony's direct involvement
Publishers like Square, SEGA, Bandai Namco, Capcom and a bunch of others still thrive on their platforms and some of their most notable games in the case of some publishers are flat out exclusive to their consoles, which means there will always be direct interest from Japanese gamers as well
@Slowdive Persona games are usually the shot in the arm PlayStation consoles need to get a temporary leg up on competing consoles
Despite not being a Sony IP it's a series that's very closely tied with those consoles and they usually help push units because of that. It's like what Monster Hunter used to be on PSP before that series went to Nintendo

Sony commands the loyalty of a number of prominent Japanese publishers, who will never abandon them. It used to be that, if you loved Japanese games, there was no getting around the need for a Playstation console.
With that said, Sony has suffered a staggering loss in terms of Japanese software exclusivity. At the beginning of last gen, PS4 was THE place to be for Japanese games. Now, other than a few exclusives like 13 Sentinels, Persona 5 Royal, Fist of the North Star: Lost Paradise, and Sakura Wars, pretty much everything has gone multi-platform. It's possible that, with the PS5, Sony won't hold an advantage over PC at all on this front, which is when they truly lose me.
But yeah, if people care about Persona games that much, they need to just suck it up and play them on the available systems. That's what fans do. It's why I own a PS4.
Persona 5 vanilla is available on PS3. I believe PS2 Classics can still be purchased on that console, and the store doesn't seem to be closing down now, so...
If absolutely nothing else, P4G on PC is very accessible. You'd have to have a VERY old and outdated computer not to be able to run it, frankly.
I mean, judging how Sony is doing just fine in Japan, chances are Persona isn't going to move. I don't know why I bother saying that to you, judging on how you blocked me, but oh well. ¯(ツ)/¯

@jump I was very surprised at the lack of remastered audio. That it’s actually more compressed is a bit disappointing since video game music is so important to the ultimate experience. Things like visuals and poor dungeon design weren’t going to be problems you could solve without a full remake (Xenoblade DE fixed the visuals though so it’s a fine margin).
It feels like a barebones remaster, akin to what Nintendo did with Super Mario Sunshine. Widescreen, ‘optimisation’ and Bob’s your uncle.
@TheFrenchiestFry Yeah I love how to get all the Persona 5 Royal DLC you have to pay for the game’s selling price again. Surely they’d include some in the game since... it’s Royal? Royal pain in the arse.
@TheJGG I think the dated visual look fitting in an odd way, like it's one of those Tim Burton cartoons where it's creepy and not meant to look quite right. Maybe that's just me though.
@TheJGG I mean, at least the original game's DLC is included in Royal. Still, I agree that the DLC is a bit over-priced. They're charging like 10 dollars for one costume pack.. which is just insane, given the costume pack comes with like three costumes. Not to mention they have loads of costumes for a character who only joins the party once in the entire game..

They did the same exact thing with Catherine Full Body on PS4 when that came out. Stuff like the additional voices for Catherine and Katherine, and the Joker DLC were all paid and the Switch version is the only one that actually comes with them bundled on the cartridge

@Snaplocket Man, you sure do love to bring Xenoblade into a conversation it's not even a part of, and you sure love to bash the remaster's graphics, despite looking like a switch game, and looking on par with Xenoblade 2. If I said the same about Xenoblade 2 though, you'd probably get mad and jump on me for it.

@TheJGG Nocturne is a little better than the 3D Collection insofar as they actually improve demon skill inheritance, which is going to make team building quite a bit less irritating.
But yeah, otherwise it's a really basic remaster.
@jump I'm not. Online gamer culture is one that's particularly susceptible to becoming outraged over every little thing. Actually, ironically, I do think a lot of such comments are performative in nature: a form of virtue signaling. Most people who care enough to preorder a $50 re-release of an ancient JRPG already knew what was happening with the DLC.
@Slowdive (Again, don't know why I'm responding when I've been muted, but eh.) That rumor is a straight up lie. There's no way they'd bring the original game over to switch, when they 1) released Royal and 2) it's been years since the original came out, so they wouldn't just re-release it. They'd move on to more spin-offs while working on Persona 6.

I'm getting it because I think the game itself is already great enough that I can probably deal with how barebones the remaster itself is and I need to add one more to the physical MegaTen collection that's currently growing for me
I still need to find Devil Survivor Overclocked physically for a decent price though. Devil Survivor 2 Record Breaker I could get with no hassle lol

Nocturne HD will be the best $49.99 I spend all year, most likely. The game is a classic, and the remaster still looks good. Additions like being able to suspend play, non-random skill inheritance, and voice acting will make the game that much better.
It's too bad the battle music still sounds compressed, but that's not a huge deal to me.
I noticed something looked weird about my Amazon preorder of Nocturne HD, so I went to the game's page. The Switch physical is gone! Just... wiped from the listing.
