@Tyranexx The primary reason I mentioned Sony exclusivity is because they’ve done so much of it in the past! They jumped ship to Sony from FF7 onwards and they all released exclusively on PlayStation until they were remastered or ported to other consoles a decade later. The outlier is Final Fantasy XV: Pocket Edition but that’s because the Switch simply isn’t powerful enough to run it.
I see running the Pixel Remaster on PS4/5 the same as playing a visual novel or a pixel art indie game. Zero point at all, unless you like ray traced pixel art… which doesn’t exist!
Yeah, you can hardly see them in previous versions, @Slowdive .... They're a bit bigger, clearer & brighter now! Anyway, I've pre-purchased the bundle on Steam, so I'll just play them when they're out
I'm close to the end of A Realm Reborn, and I'm excited to get into Heavensward, as well as the rest of XIV. The community around the game is great, and I already have a person I run dungeons with when I play.

Will do, @Slowdive .... The 3 up do have a 20% discount & include an OST & wallpaper as pre-purchase bonuses, if that matters! Or are you going to wait for the almost inevitable Switch version which probably won't be that far away?
Maybe, @DarthNocturnal .... Although I'd hope they'd still be available separately, if they did want to do a physical for the collection, that might be part of the reason!
Square is tripping if they think 17.99 is a good price point for each of these games. They should’t be anything more than 10 dollars honestly, and shouldn’t be more than 20 or 30 bundled together, since they’re old games..

Hmm, well, they do seem to have done quite a bit of work with these ..... At least if you just wanted one or 2 of them, you can get those individually!
@TheJGG Right, Sony exclusivity is hardly surprising when considering SE's track record! I'd sigh but bat less of an eye if the Pixel Remasters were timed PS4/5 console exclusives.
As for raytracing pixels - Maybe not now, but some crazy genius is gonna come up with a similar concept eventually....

@Tyranexx Before the PS5 came out I hadn’t even heard of ray tracing, and now I really appreciate how it’s been used in the one game it’s in: Marvel’s Spider-Man. The lighting, especially reflections on glass or glossy surfaces, is so beautiful.
Wouldn’t be surprised if the Dragon Quest III remake uses state of the art ray tracing for the lighting, bloom, saturation and depth of field. But in all seriousness I’d love if FFXVI uses ray tracing. It looks like it’s gonna be a mid gen game, sometime around 2022/23, so the tech’s be understood much more.
@TheJGG Eh, I doubt it'll have RayTracing. They showed gameplay off in the trailer, and it lacks raytracing entirely. There's a possibility they didn't add it yet, but I feel like it's just not going to be there.

@TheJGG Same here; I'd never heard the term until PS5 marketing took off. I don't know much about it, but what little footage I've seen is pleasing to the eye. DQ III HD-2D might be reaching a bit ( ), but it wouldn't surprise me if it's implemented in FF XVI and other modern titles.

I bought VII last time it went on sale. Figured with the newer translation and the absolutely broken cheats these versions come with, it would be a nice way to remember what that game was about.
So far so good. Gotta love being able to speed up all the slow climbing and the little minigames.

Are those the official prices? That's such a scam for "remakes" that look no better than most of the original versions. Honestly people should just get the GBA versions running on a modded 3DS.
They should've done 1-6 as a single full price retail game for $60. That would've been vaguely fair if you get a proper physical version with everything included.
Final Fantasy 1 + 2 on GBA, in 2004, at most cost like 4 bucks more than what it would to own both of these versions of those games. And those had new content these don't. Not to mention the PSP version which I think cost as much only a few years later and added even more content.
Even the SNES games at that price is questionable at best.
