There are these games called the Dismount series. In Stair Dismount, there's a ragdoll on the top of some stairs, and you choose where you hit them and how hard to hit them. The more damage you deal, the better. Then in Truck Dismount, you have a truck, and wall to use to hurt the ragdoll again. You can choose the speed of the truck, windows, where the guys sits, and where you put the ramps. Here's a link to the site where you can download Stair dismount: http://secretexit.com/freeware/stairdismount and here's Truck Dismount: http://secretexit.com/freeware/truckdismount
Another FPS is Combat Arms. BFH is a fun game though.

You could also get the free package from Gametap.com It has some good games in it, but I haven't tried it. I want to subscribe to Gametap, I might just get the classic package because it has quite a few games and it's only $5 a month. But I bet there are a lot of good games in the premium package.
If you haven't played America's Army, go do that NOW. It's 100% free, but was done by commercial quality devs. Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is another one you should have already played. Besides those we have...
Everyone needs to play Spelunky, the best freeware game to be released since forever. It is something as uniquely brilliant as a rogue-like platformer. It is rock-hard and infinitely replayable. Check it out: http://www.spelunkyworld.com/
Battlefield Heroes is also a pretty good online game.

I so wish the XBLA version were coming to WiiWare instead.
Adam, do you have an N Maps account? You can play all the N levels other people have made and put your own on there. It adds pretty much infinite replay value to N, and it's fun making your own levels. My account
I don't have N at all. It's a neat game, but I'm spoiled by Jumper 2, another non-scrolling platformer, which has many more tools and options its level editor. I admire N's elegant simplicity, but the ability to make a 10-level world with hidden paths, backtracking, story, etc. with customizable physics and (to a much lesser extent) graphics (you can use up to four personally designed blocks) outweighs that for me by a landslide. I do like N a lot, it's just that I never play it since I consider J2 better in most regards.
I have Jumper 2 as well, the editors both have their advantages, but I gravitated towards N's more. Jumper has the multiple room worlds, backtracking, pushable boxes and switches, and N has curved blocks, slope physics and enemies.
I abuse the crap out of canons and sentries trying to make levels with the same feel as a level filled with enemies, and that does get old sometimes, though I think I've managed to come up with some pretty inventive "boss battles" under these limitations.
Here's my list of Freeware (that you people haven't already mentioned):
Synaesthete -- An extremely addictive and fun music game, and the soundtrack is absolutely amazing for techno, that is. Gravity Bone -- It's a short spy-ish game that has block-shaped people. It's very good, even though it's about 20 minutes long tops. ROM CHECK FAIL -- A very arcadey game that switches between a total of 6 game styles: Mario, Zelda, Gradius, Pacman, Asteroids, and some other game that I completely forget the name of. An Untitled Story -- A game that cleverly disguises itself as a good old platformer when it's actually a Metroidvania style game. The art style is very unique/unpolished depending on your point of view. Grotto King -- From the guys who made Gravity Bone. Very good even though it's extremely short, just like GB. Bootfighter Windom XP sp-2.NET -- absurdly long name aside, It's a very hard and fast-paced mech game. Non-Anime fans beware. Definitely for the ultra nerds of the world.
Thanks given to Xkhaoz for that one avatar. Please contact me before using my custom avatar!

Why don't you just play it on Armour games, or Newgrounds? You don't have to download it...

http://sigmanine.net/games/ Am still building the site though so it isn't all fully functional. Downloads do work though, and you can sort games by rating and play the top rated games. Social Experiment is a good game erm and so is NTP3. Grid Defender 2 isn't on my site but you can find it here: http://www.nfyre.com/griddefender2.html Which I host the online highscores for :3. It's a really polished game and I'm glad I got the oppurtunity to host scores for it.
