I kinda feel like a non-violent FPS. Most free FPSs are violent, are there any good non-violent one? A good, low T rated one will work.

Battlefield Heroes isn`t violent, if you hold on a few minutes, I`ll edit another one or two in once I find them.

How is it not violent? What is it about shooting people with guns that isn't violent? Lack of blood doesn't make it Gandhi-approved.

I`m pretty sure it`s t-rated though. He`s asking for a shooting game...there aren`t many that have water guns and such.

It's rated T for violence, though. Perhaps he is just not wording his question well. I doubt there is such a thing as a nonviolent free FPS. Water Warfare is the only nonviolent one, and it doesn't fit the bill obviously. Battlefield may be your best bet, but if you're trying to stay away from violence, you've got yourself a hopeless cause.

Midway released Area 51, The Suffering, Psi Ops and Rise and Fall Civilizations at War to freeware last year and here is the links. Also THQ released Full Spectrum Warrior which you can get at Megagames.com or the link below. Also Rebellion that made Rogue Trooper made a game for the National Guard and is of course and FPS called PRISM Guard Shield. Some and many probably know about these games. But my point is 5 of these games used to be sold at full retail and were released into freeware.

Psi Ops link http://www.freewaregames.net/fwpro/game.asp?game=2743
Also here is one called National Guard Prism it is made by Rebellion that made Rogue Trooper and is freeware

Rise and Fall Civilizations at War http://megagames.com/news/html/freegames/riseandfallcivilizat...

Sorry for being so long winded. Area 51 and Psi Ops are a lot of fun. I have not gotten far in the Suffering yet. I could take or leave Rise and Fall or Full Spectrum Warrior. PRISM is a decent free FPS and made by an established developer so it does have some quality behind it. Hope you guys and gals enjoy ! Thanks to everyone that recommended Trackmania btw.

Though low rez, 2D, and definitly not an FPS, I found a website http://www.teardown.se that has a fun little turn based strategy called Alien Assault, which is just a rebranding of the Games Workshop board game Space Hulk. It's a pretty fun. They have a few others on there, but I haven't tried those yet. I have been obsessing over the excessivly expensive and somewhat rare boardgame and this has quelled my need for it quite a bit.

Asda Story is a MMORPG I was addicted to for a little while, until I found out MMORPGs aren't that great. But if it's your thing, you should check it out. I think it got a pretty mediocre reception, but it's just the kind of thing I like.

Is there even such thing as a non-violent shooter? If he means non-gory, then yeah, I'd highly recommend Battlefield Heroes. It's a lot of fun and its light-hearted themes are very refreshing over the gore-fests you'll usually find in FPSes.

Anyways, I'd recommend Cave Story(been said a million times, I know, but it deserves it), Knytt Story, N, Anything made by ABA games(particularly Torus Trooper and rRootage), Legend of Princess, Ahriman's Prophecy, and...some browser games, I'll get back to you on them.

Also, for games that were once retail games but are now freeware, there's Mechwarrior, Mechcommander 1, 2, and Gold, Elder Scrolls 1 and 2, Command & Conquer: Red Alert, and pretty soon Mechwarrior 4 complete will be freeware to promote the revival of the franchise.

What do you think of Teeworlds? It's not first person, but instagib ctf is a bit less violent than worms. The focus in this game is using your grappling hook to quickly manoeuvre around the map. I used to play it, it's fun, easy and addictive. There's also a couple obstacle course maps if you don't want to shoot things.

I couldn't find a good video... so turn off the sound and skip the intro...

Starkiller

I recently found this freeware FPS called Allegiance, unfortunately it takes forever to learn how to play it well. It focuses on teamwork, but a general problem with all FPSes is that all some people want to do is kill other people.
It's not incredibly violent (it's in space so your enemy's guts don't splat into your face), but extremely competitive.
