I was thinking the other day that this game may have little connection to Xenoblade 1: maybe it's just in the new universe created by Shulk, with some link in the main story or secondary characters in it. What do you guys think?

@FGPackers Wasn't that what was generally presumed?
I'll take it further; the connection between Blades and Drivers is an intentional in-universe mimicry of the relationship between Alvis/The Monado and Shulk, potentially brought about by the former (who I'd say has a decent chance of re-appearing).

@Tsurii good thing I read this first since I'm in the middle of my playthrough.
Just remember,

@Tsurii Spoilertags initially didn't work for me for whatever reason. Sorry.

@Tsurii @yokokazuo I'm sorry guys

I made the huge mistake to think that everyone completed this game since it is 7 years old and came on two systems. Never gonna happen again. I'm really sorry

By the way (sorry for returning on this) i didn't know the spoiler command, i'm still learning all for this forum, is there a list? (even for images and things like that so that i don't make any other mistakes like this one)

@Tsurii @yokokazuo sorry again guys i really can't get this out of my mind, i didn't want to ruin the game to both of you ç.ç

@FGPackers it's fine, don't worry about it! I didn't read anything so I haven't been spoiled yet.
I don't think there is a list somewhere, but this website used BBC code so searching up some things you can do with it may help. Most things require using the square brackets and are pretty similar overall. Images are [img](URL here)[/img). YouTube videos only require the link though.

I had forgotten you were pretty new here, but welcome to the forums! I hope you enjoy it here. Plus any Fire Emblem fan is good in my book

@FGPackers: Here's a really old sticky post from the Help/Problems forum that should help you out! I've used BBC formatting on other sites before coming here (used to be quite a text RPer in high school), but some sites format things a bit differently. I've had to look up how to do the strike-through effect ((del) instead of [s] like I'm used to) here before.

I'm also one that hasn't played the original Xenoblade Chronicles, but I hope to at some point. I do have XCX in my library, but haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Currently playing: Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr's Journey, Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana (Switch)

@Tyranexx Thanks a lot. Don't waste time and play both Xenoblade, they're really AWESOME games!

We suggested that a few pages back.

At the end of Chronicles, the Monado/Alvis says something like "this new universe contains many new forms of life and places to see" which seems to have been a deliberate setup for a potential sequel.

@Dezzy I really can't wait for this game. Loved Xenoblade, loved Xenoblade X and i think that Xenoblade 2 can be the best among the 3. I'm really hyped about this game. The fact that will be story-driven is the thing that hypes me the most

@FGPackers

Yep, same here. The first game is fairly close to being my favourite game of all time (lol it constantly jumps between Xenoblade, FF9, Ocarina of Time, Mario Galaxy and Dark Souls 1)

I just want another game with the same general structure as the first. But hopefully a less ridiculous final third to the story. That's pretty much my only criticism of the first game. Maybe could do with some more minigames and better sidequests too.

@Dezzy It's one of the GOATs to me also, i just hope they can make a better job with the NPC affinity link (i don't like very much that feature honestly, and didn't like it on X)

@FGPackers

What was wrong with it? Most games don't even have something like that.

FGPackers

@Dezzy It's too dispersive to me, sometimes i didn't remember well NPC locations and things like that. I just would like that they can sort of simplify it. I was thinking about a "link" between the quest that can take you to the related NPC or something like that. I never used it in Xenoblade or in Xenoblade X, i don't think there's enough "reasons" (incentives?) to use it

@FGPackers

To be honest I didn't pay much attention to the affinity stuff in either game. Except when you needed to.

FGPackers

@Dezzy Yeah that was my point also. I mean it's a huge thing that is no real and important factor in the game. That's the main problem to me, when i pointed it with incentives to use it

@Tsurii

There are a few instances where you need to for various missions and sidequests.

Some were "Talk to Person A, walk 20 minutes to person B, then back to person a, then B." Two hours later, you get some forgettable thing.

Speaking of which, my main complaint for Xenoblade was that it was too big. I don't need to spend 40 minutes walking from Point A to B in EVERY area! >:[
