Decided to try my hand at summoning blades, and got 2 rare blades!
Firstly, I got Electra. Yay, my first summoned rare!
Then, Perun. Wow! She's totally my type... in, umm, playstyle of course, what else would I mean.
BTW, can you dispose of the common blades? I still have about 9 common cores left, but can't summon them. I assume this is because you can only have so many blades at a time?

@RR529 I‘d advice you to look for their field skills first, though. Get only rid of the ones you don‘t need and that only got Mastery over their element (Fire Mastery, Water Mastery, Wind Mastery and so on). Not Production Mastery, Forestry, Botany and so on. Those will come in handy later on in the game.
What's everyone's favorite blades, design or play style wise, so far. Mine is Percival for his wicked design which I won't spoil if you haven't seen him. Wulfric is also a favorite because he looks like he's straight outta DOOM, and like all true demons, he just wants everyone to be friends.
I think I've also been lucky concerning WHO gets these blades, not just play style wise but also I guess design wise. Percival especially.
My favorite so far is Kora. I like her design and her abilities but most of all I like her voice acting. She sounds great and has funny lines.
Also got two more rare blades this morning out of 6 crystals I used (3 common, 3 rare). Now all of my party members have at least 3 unique blades, except Tora.
Out of the main cast, I probably like standard Poppi the best. Especially her animations like excitement, pointing and such are just funny and over the top. Other main cast favorites include Mythra and Pandoria. Had I answered an hour ago or so, I‘d have said I can‘t really stand most of the non-Main Cast Blade designs, especially hideous are Gorg, Sheba and Vess. But then I opened the Lucky Core Crystal, got Kasandra and by god, if she isn‘t the cutest thing in all of Alrest! Seriously thinking about switching her in for Aegaeon.

@Tsurii Sure is. I also got no place for her in the party with Dromarch and Aegaeon already filling in the Water element so I won‘t be investing time nor money into her - for now. I may return and try to complete the game as best as I can at a later date but for now, I‘ll try to do some quests, fill out some of the affinity tree for my actual party members and beat the game.

Finished the game last night at 82 hours; the final boss was kinda easy and the ending was a little cheesy. I think I still like the first Xenoblade the best of them all, but XB 2 is definitely superior to XBX.
@Tsurii If you don't want her, I'll gladly take her
Started some rare blade specific quests, and I'm a little disappointed that the characters who've bonded with the blade aren't the main talker. For example Percival's quest has Nia do most of the talking even though she isn't the one who bonded with him. However small this is I can't help but feel it dampen some of my enjoyment. Considering the fact that these quests, as far as I've seen, don't have voice acting. Making the issue easily fixable. Or maybe I'm totally off base and it would take a considerable amount of effort. This would be a complete non-issue if the characters, and perhaps more importantly the blades themselves, weren't my driving force for playing the game.
EDIT: Percival's quest does in fact have VA, so...Never mind I guess?
Well after getting Zelda for Christmas I can comfortably say Xenoblade is the best Switch game I got this year. Zelda seems okay so far but it hasn't captivated me like XBC2 did!
So I started my second playthrough and a couple of fun coincidences have happened: a female, Earth-type Shield Hammer user was the first Blade I drew for Nia again, and she was the first one get a rare Blade again--the first time it was Adenine, now she has Kora. And I got Kora from a Common Crystal, the sixth one I opened, roughly 4 hours in.
And is the Crystal you get from Azurda in Torigoth fixed to always give you a female, Wind-type Knuckles Claws user? Cause I got one of those again, though the name is different and this one's Affinity Chart is smaller.
Set Perun as my main Blade, and she's holding up better than expected. If I'm in a bit of trouble (or against an enemy weak to fire) I switch back to Pyra, but Perun's been able to keep up well thus far.
The Uraya region is absolutely stunning, BTW.

@SilverEdge92 It pretty much has to be fixed because I got the same, too.
@Beedrill4Smash Pretty sure all blade-specific quests have VA at some point. Dagas, Electra, Godfrey and Ursula, the ones I‘ve done at this point, all had VA at some point.
And done, just finished the game with a few minutes away from 120 hours (though the Switch‘s Time tracker claims it‘s 105 hours or more. Weird.). Anyway, I‘ll go into all-out spoilers in a bit so be warned! But before I do that, I gotta say that this almost rivals Odyssey in terms of Top 10 2017 for me. It‘s not as good as Persona 5 but definitely stands next to it as one of my favorite rpgs and games of all time. Alright then, let‘s do this!
Artifice Aion was a complete joke, and dare I say, troll. With a party of Level 73 (levels up to 74 a third into the battle) Rex, Level 73 Nia and Level 75 Mòrag, I had a hard time actually finding the need to heal, let alone revive, my gang outside of these lasers he fires during the second phase. Even the Artifice Colossi he summons go down a minute. The only reason I died twice to him was that dumb 1-hit kill Prometheus attack you can‘t avoid. You‘re pretty much supposed to pop the Party Gauge for a Chain Attack but the game ain‘t telling you as much. Had seriously more trouble fighting Nia and the others as part of Klaus‘s test.
Oh yeah, Klaus! You know, I think it‘s funny - the moment I start the game and have Rex talk about the Architect at the beginning of the story, I guessed it to be Klaus. So, do I get a trophy now? That aside, I find it ingenious how XC1 and 2 are pretty much running alongside one another and both end with Klaus‘s demise and the birth of a new world.
Another thing I found funny is how whenever you come across a pope figure, them being the villain is pretty much a guarantee. Plus, Amalthus is just looking evil.
