On the matter of leveling up at the inns, I take free use of them. Thing is, if I had all the time of the world, I‘d avoid the heck out of it and grind my way through countless of enemies in countless of hours, similar to how I do it in Pokémon. Especially because both battle systems require little attention when at an higher level than the enemy so I can listen to podcasts or watch something on Netflix or YouTube in the meantime. But I don‘t have all the time of the world. I‘m already itching to get back into Splatoon and the next big jrpg, in the form of Ni No Kuni 2, is already lining up for its release at the end of January, at which point I should be done with Xenoblade.
@Fooligan God freakin dangit, again!? Honestly, I‘ve been expecting this. January‘s already jam-packed as it is for whatever reason so it won‘t hurt much but still, kinda sad now.

Tbh.. after no support at all after release of Xenoblade Chronicles X, I don’t expect any game fixes or content updates from Monolith Soft beside Season Pass
It's fantastic they're updating the game and fixing things.
That's the good thing about a season pass. It means continued attention on the game
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
@JaxonH Yeah, that's what came to mind. Post-launch content (e.g. free content updates, standalone paid DLC, season passes) increase the chance of free fixes where needed.
Ok now here's a weird scenario. Anyone been able to beat the aeshma core yet? I'm well over 5 levels higher and still get instakilled halfway through the pipe line damage?
Okay, complaining about it on the internet always helps so let me just say that the last boss of Chapter 5 is ridiculous! No, I don‘t mean Jin but that cannon and its wires directly before him! The very moment this thing gets enraged, it destroys my entire team. And I‘m talking a Level 44 Nia and Rex, Level 45 Tora, Level 47 Zeke and Level 48 Mòrag! I‘ve done all the quests I can do, slept at the inn and still nothing. Read online you‘re supposed to put an Element to it with a Level 3 Special and then do a Chain Attack but I use a Level 3 on it and the cables still remains Earth! No idea what I‘m doing wrong but I‘ve definitely thrown myself at that thing seven times to no avail. Also, if I get unlucky, one of my teammates falls down that stupid cliff when we jump onto the titan and starts the battle at 1 HP!
@Tsurii Alright, I did it by cheesing the heck out of it. I played as Nia as always with Mòrag as the tank and Zeke as the attacker. What I did was keep everybody at as max health as possible and if the situation allowed for it, changed to Wulfric, built up to Level 2 or 3 and then used that on the cables. It may have taken a while but at least Jin was easy as heck.

Update patch v1.1.1 coming December 22, next Friday
"modern AAA game by Nintendo won't be updated unless you pay money" was not the best prediction in the world
WOW, I’m positively shocked and so glad I was wrong!!! Looking forward to update mostly because map changes.
Just got myself Xenoblade Pro Controller because Pyra (charging forever already.. can’t wait to try it!), now I’ll buy Season Pass and I’m totally ready for December 22!
@ThePunkDriver How far are you? Chances are you won't be able to execute one properly until you have a full party, and are facing some tougher enemies.
A combo is initiated when a party member uses a special art (A button for the player character, ZL or ZR for the other party members). Upon initation a combo tree will appear in the top-right of the screen. The symbols in this tree correspond to blade elements, e.g. fire, water, earth. Execute a level 2 special in the left side of the tree and the combo will advance. Finally, execute a level 3 special in the right side of the tree and you'll end the combo with a powerful attack which grants a status effect on the enemy. The key thing is triggering the specials in sequence (level 1 to 2 to 3), with blades of the correct element.
Note that you can trigger specials in all party members. If either of your other party members have a special built up which will add to the combo, a 'ZL' or 'ZR' will appear by their picture in the middle of the screen. Note also that there's a time limit to executing the combo - this is shown by a meter in the top right corner of the screen.
Hope this helps! Like many things in the game it is tricky to get your head around and it took a few attempts for me to understand.
Good news regarding the QOL updates. Its highly likely I will be getting the season pass but no rush to buy it, I'll see what the first batch of "new mission" content looks like first.
Question regarding field arts, when I come to an obstacle in the wild that requires use of said arts is it enough for me to just have any Blades in my inventory with that field art unlocked or do I also need to have said Blade assigned to a Driver for it to function?
