@TheFrenchiestFry I totally forgot an official translation already exists. Well, if that text substitution thing is true, that means they wouldn't even need to localize the game, just map over the text and we could see it on Switch. Definitely seems like a good publicity stunt for them to pull around the time of SMT V's release.
@link3710 If they end up bringing SMT1 in English to consoles/PC I'd rather they not base it on the mobile port if anything. The interface could use some cleaning up and the entire game had a really ugly border around it that was pretty distracting
Something more along the lines of the recent multiplatform ports of the PS1 FF games where they cleaned up the visuals and made QoL adjustments to the gameplay/presentation is ideally what should be done with SMT1/2 if Atlus sees fit to release them ahead of SMTV

how would you react if Switch sucessor is a dedicated home console like Wii/Game Cube, nothing is garanteed that Switch sucessor is gonna be a hybrid like him, Nintendo is very unpredictable when they make consoles, they can easily make a dedicated home console like Wii/Game Cube for Switch sucessor, with the characteric innovation only Nintendo could do.
@Giancarlothomaz I'd be fine with it. Honestly Switch is probably the most no-frills console Nintendo has ever come close to making since 6th gen since the idea of having a home console that can be taken on the go is not only something that isn't just a mere gimmick like motion controls or the GamePad but it's technically already been done before by them. Even though Switch is essentially my first ever Nintendo home console, I've only ever used it in handheld mode seeing as how I still have my PS4 as my TV console (soon to be PS5) and PC is for the big AAA multiplat stuff going into this coming gen, so clearly I'm one of the people who didn't really use Switch for its intended purpose as a hybrid.
I'd be down with the next Nintendo console being a dedicated home system as long as it actually brings the power I'd expect it to given the sudden change. Nintendo used to be one of the aueteurs of pushing games to their graphical limits, and in a sense they still are, but I always felt Nintendo deemphasized the power of their consoles for the wrong reasons. The PS2 didn't succeed just because it appealed to casual gamers, and the lack of power definitely wasn't a determining factor in its success. I'd love to see a new Nintendo system stand toe to toe with Sony and Microsoft just like GameCube (which in of itself was actually kind of designed to be taken around). This could also mean they have a chance of turning around the perception their platform isn't built to handle the big name multiplat stuff.
I know other people who aren't as platform agnostic and literally couldn't care less about PlayStation or Microsoft will probably be devastated but if the most successful console of the current gen with the largest install base is a traditional, no frills home console, it's not something I see a lot of people being that offended by.
Dual screen gaming eventually being phased out by Nintendo all around after a while is kind of proof in of itself that this hybrid thing isn't really here to stay. In fact if PS5 ends up doing PS4 level numbers again and Series X doesn't lag too far behind with how inherently Western their design philosophies are, Nintendo will definitely take note. They ain't stupid. They innovate a lot, but that's not to say all their innovations and developments don't come from learning from their direct competitors.
I'm sure the hybrid concept will be missed by certain people, but there's no doubt in my mind 9th gen consoles are going to be leveraging way greater into the tech within their consoles as opposed to on their exteriors like the Switch's various features, and as Reggie Fils Aime once said, "you see people like power stuff".
I generally don't care about what special features a console has. I'm not buying a PS5 because of haptic feedback or triggers. I'm buying it because it has God of War, Spider-Man, Demon's Souls, Persona and Final Fantasy XVI. I didn't buy a Switch because it's a hybrid console as cool as that looked. I bought it because of Zelda and Mario. Just point me to where the games are.
I really hope we see something from Silent Hill at TGA 2020. These reports about that soft-reboot they're making for PS5 have permeated long enough
If MGS1 remake actually gets announced there my screams will overpower the sound system, and since Cyberpunk is now out of the running for GOTY I hope it'll end up going to FFVII Remake or Ghost of Tsushima out of the games I've played this year, although I expect Miles Morales and Demon's Souls not to disappoint at all.

Silent Hill would sell me a PS5... when it comes out.
lol I learned my lesson when I got a PS4 with Silent Hills in mind.
@TheFrenchiestFry TLOU Part II will win. Not even a question. Critics LOVED that game.
@Giancarlothomaz If the next Ninty console was another box tethered to a TV? I guess I'd wait to buy it until it developed an exclusives library I was happy with. And I'd be bitterly disappointed by its existence.
GOTY - The Last of Us Part II
Best RPG - FF7R
Best Action-Adventure - The Last of Us Part II
Best Family Game - Animal Crossing: New Horizons
Best Shooter - DOOM Eternal
Not sure what the best independent game award will go to, since Hades is a port of an older PC game. If it counts, then I'm going with Hades.
Anyway, I'm expecting Sony to clean up with the majority of big awards again. I guess Nintendo only has a chance when they're releasing a new Zelda game. The action/adventure bias of Western critics is real.
On that note, if BotW2 and GoW Ragnarok release next year, then we'll have a potential three-way competition between those two and Cyberpunk. THAT would be interesting.
check out the QA session by Nintendo investors/shareholders of it lastest financial results(important to read this, since this can point up to Nintendo plans for the foresable future).
I wouldn't be surprised if recency-bias played hard for this year's GotY. I think Hades has a real shot of running away with it this year. If not Hades then Last of Us Part II, despite it not being as beloved as Part I. Half-Life: Alyx, Ori and the Will of the Wisps, and Microsoft Flight Simulator round out the top five of 2020.
@Ralizah yes the Switch sucessor been a TV focus console, is one of the possibities i imagine Nintendo can do for her next console(very unlikely to happen, considering the Switch sucess).
@Ralizah Nintendo literally only ever has a chance of winning something if it's related to Mario, Zelda, Smash or Animal Crossing
I'm honestly surprised Fire Emblem actually walked away with an award last year
Sony has always been the company everyone on that awards show has a bias for, but that's not to say it isn't deserved because frankly I thought it was criminal Yuri Lowenthal didn't get best Male Performance in 2018 for Spider-Man.

@Grumblevolcano There is absolutely no way in hell Animal Crossing will win anything other than Best Family Game. GOTY almost always goes to the big AAA narrative-driven single player stuff like God of War in 2018 and Sekiro last year. If not those, then definitely some big trendy title like Overwatch.
