I’m really hoping for a new Tomodachi Life game. The 3DS title was so charming and bizarre and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I’m not sure what its chances are on Switch though considering Nintendo distancing themselves somewhat from Mii characters, but I’d love to see it. I just want more content, and for the game to not show its cards within the first few days of playing.

Did someone also wish for Miitopia sequel on Nintendo Switch ? 😀

Well, I can imagine a lot of things being totally out of whack going forward and it seems like we won’t be getting any single week E3 style announcements this year. Instead, it’ll be spread over a number of months as and when publishers feel happy to do so. So in theory Nintendo could hold a Direct whenever they want. No need to wait for normal E3 week.

Metroid Prime Trilogy also popped up at BestBuy yesterday.

Could this really be it? Is it really happening???

I really hope this one is true. I've played the full trilogy on the Wii U after getting it off the eShop, but I'd pay a full $60 in a heartbeat to see the games in full HD.

Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)

@Toy_Link
Ya I remember that. Which is why I didnt mention it at first.

But now that 3D World was listed alongside it a 2nd time, it seems more credible.

@rallydefault You have good friends in that case. I've had console broken, stolen, games stolen and lost, all over the years from a kid to an adult. I just can't even give my closest friends anything to borrow. I take extremely good care of my stuff.

@gcunit Are you crazy? Why would I just want all my stuff broken and stolen? I didn't want new controller and it's the principal of the thing. Glad you're okay with people breaking and stealing your sh*t just to, maybe, get new ones. That was the ONLY time something was replaced and that was after bugging him to death for months to give me the money. I also forgot to mention that part. I'm also no longer friends with him due to an unrelated issue. Why are you so upset about people not wanting to lend things? Do YOU steal your friends' stuff? IS that the only way you acquire things or something?

@FragRed Yeah if the proper next gen console reveals are in May, Nintendo may want to do a Direct in May to remind people Switch has games after Animal Crossing.

Note: I consider proper reveal as console and games info. While we have console info for Series X, we know virtually nothing about games, even Halo Infinite details are very limited and that was revealed nearly 2 years ago.

Yea, I have awesome friends, I have to admit. /humblebrag

Anyway, I've always thought something Metroid would be either Nintendo's big holiday release or one of their big fall releases. A Prime Trilogy release in the fall would make a lot of sense. There's no way BotW2 is coming out this holiday. Even if they reuse almost every asset (and boy would that be disappointing), that would be the shortest turnaround time for a Zelda game of that size. We're not in Ocarina/Majora's Mask-sized games anymore.

That's what leads me to think that Metroid is gonna be the hard-hitter this holiday season.

@rallydefault I'm leaning towards Odyssey 2 for the big holiday release. 3D Mario collection doesn't feel realistic so I think it's just that Odyssey 2 has a few kingdoms that are HD remasters of some levels from 64, Sunshine, Galaxy and Galaxy 2. 3D World gets a port though because it's a Wii U game.

Now this is what I thought Super Mario Maker 2 would be like when it got announced last year. New update coming April 22nd which features more stuff including world maker (the ability to create an up to 8 world game with world maps).

Nintendo wants to get Mario Maker out of the way so everyone can focus their attention on the upcoming Mario remasters.

@Grumblevolcano Welp, this is a game changer. SMM2 is now a must have Switch title in my book (not that I didn't already have it)

EDIT: Okay now that I've thought about it, there's a lot to take away from this. First of all, insane update. Like, introducing 9 new powerups (including 5 that can help make 3D World amazingly diverse), a ton of new enemies for the main styles, SMB2 stuff, and of course world maker. I don't think a single thing that was added won't allow for brand new ideas to come to life. Secondly, the fact that it wasn't held back suggests Nintendo does indeed have stuff for the Summer, since this would fill that in nicely if they really had nothing to launch. Thirdly, this is a meaty enough update to make up for not releasing a title this month in my book, so props.

@Grumblevolcano That... is an INCREDIBLE update. Like, holy crud, that completely changes the game. It'll make Mario Maker so much more appealing for me if there's continuity between levels in a sustained way. It'll give purpose to coins, too, since the number of lives a player had will actually matter.

Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)

Sweet, I haven't played much of Mario maker since the zelda update.

That’s not even exaggeration.

This. Is. A gamechanger. LITERALLY

Oh my goodness, this is it! The ultimate Mario game! Make an entire GAME now! All the Koopalings with separate moves, mechanical koopas, oh man!

Yup. Absolute must have now. Even worth buying a system for, Id say. This is going to be one of the most impactful games ever released now. The dream has been realized, you can quite literally make an entire Mario game now using official tools in an easy to use UI, with so much amazing stuff that’s not normally included in 2D Mario games.

Wow.

This update is so exciting. Literally everything I wanted to come to the game is coming in a single batch. I don’t know whether they were preparing this content after launch, or if it was ready to go but they were holding it back, but the overall interest in SMM2 wouldn’t have dwindled as much if these updates released sooner. But still, this is very exciting and I hope that more people come back to the game and stay for a good while.

Guys if you watch the Japanese trailer, the Koopalings have even nice sprites in the Super Mario World style. They ones shown in the North American trailer are not accurate. The Koopalings look incredible and I agree with everyone saying this is a must have and makes the Switch a must-have system.

I still have yet to fire up my copy of SMM2.

Looks as though the SMW update will be the excuse I needed to finally do so.
