@Ralizah You would think I'd have learned that lesson from the stack of RPGs with unbeaten final chapters I've accumulated over, I don't know, 20 years? But somehow....I haven not learned that lesson....
Oh geez Castle Crashers is 9/17/19. Can somebody decide to release games in a month other than September?! I'm going to die next month.
Taiko is good for the soul, Hoisa!

Team Cupcake! 11/15/14
Team Spree! 4/17/19
I'm a Dream Fighter. Perfume is Love, Perfume is Life.
@NEStalgia I've done that before. Get to the very end of a game and then just... stop... for months. It's weird. In general, I can't do this "one game at a time" thing, so I'm usually juggling four or five games at a time. I just try to make as few of those JRPGs as possible.
I burned through 3/4ths of Fire Emblem: Three Houses and then just... stopped... a couple of weeks ago. No idea why. I'll pick it back up in another week or so, most likely.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@JaxonH Hah, I haven't started it on Switch yet, but did something very similar (before Yunalesca though) on Vita....and did the same back on a (used, in the PS3-era) PS2 as well
@Ralizah I did that with Torna too, though in part, one of the reasons I don't finish RPGs often is because either the final battle(s) becomes BS to the point that I don't enjoy actually doing it at all, much as I want to see the ending, or because I love the game/world/characters so much I don't want it to end.... if I never finish it, it's never "over" That's why I did that for Torna, and part of why I'm doing it for Vesperia. But there's plenty of others I've intended to return to and just...don't...
I barely started FE. I was busy IRL around when it came out, and DQB is sacred to me, so my focus is partly on that...but I don't want to burn through it too quickly, and I started Ys back in April/May, got through the introduction, and then stopped....so I'm trying to recover the pace
@NEStalgia Hmm. I never got the "not wanting it to end" thing. I've heard people say that as a reason why they don't finish BotW, but... I mean, you can replay the game.
RE: final battles, as much as I love Lunar 2, it has this really poorly designed set-up where it's possible to get to the very end of the game and then not be able to win against the final boss because you're too low level and don't have enough items to use, but also can't get to a shop to buy more stuff! I actually didn't beat it the first time I played it as a child.
@Ralizah I think it's more of a psychological thing. The characters become real people to me in a really well written RPG. If it ends, I know their fates, I've seen it, their journey is over, and no amount of replaying it makes it feel like it's truly the same ongoing adventure. Plus I know I'll never put in the hundred hours and all the annoying little issues I put up with because I was so enthralled the first time....
Honestly October isn't fairing any better. All four of the D&D games (Baldur's Gate 1 & 2, Planescape, and Icewind Dale) were pushed from September to October. I'm thankful that the collector editions for those games is unimpressive. However, as a super-fan of NIS America, seeing them release five limited editions (YU-NO, Destiny Connect, Atelier Ryza, Alliance Alive HD, and Disgaea 4 Complete) between October 1st and November 1st is financially challenging.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,537 games (as of December 22nd, 2025)
Switch 2 Physical Collection - 4 games (as of December 8th, 2025)
Just like that, Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition has released on the Eshop for £24.99/ $29.99. I knew it was due soon but Gearbox just said the other day that they'd have news to share at the end of this month. It's a strange tactic for a fairly big release.
The games I'll definitely be getting over the next 3 months
Grid Autosport
Links Awakening
Dragons Quest XI
The Witcher 3
Luigi's Mansion 3
Ninja Saviors
Remothered
Bulletstorm (depending on the port)
Future sale
Spyro
Ni No Kuni
Depending on reviews
Daemon X Machina
Contra: Rogue Corps
Speaking of unbeaten JRPGs, Octopath is still sitting in my pile. I spent a good 4 hours fighting the end game after the last save point before dying, and I can't see why I would ever try that again. I get not allowing saving during that crazy gauntlet, but they really should have had one final save point before the final boss. Other than that... I think all my JRPGs are either in 'have not started' (Persona 5, FFX/X-2, Shining Resonance, YS VIII, Fire Emblem Three Houses) or complete, I think.
Bulletstorm... that was the game that everyone bought just to get into the beta for Gears of War or something, right? Didn't look very appealing to me, but I'm not much of a shooter fan unless it's like Doom / Mass Effect.
Untitled Goose Game's launch date is the worst. I'll have to get it next year.
Zero/ZX Collection is still super exciting to me, in a way the other two collections never were. I really can't wait to finally get my hands on Zero 3+4, but I'll probably end up playing all the others again too. BN and SF/Legends collections next please...? And I'd take a Star Force 4, ZX 3, and Legends 3 too while we're at it, none of those series were ready to end (unlike Classic / X / Battle Network and from what I've heard Zero, which have done what they set out to do)
@BlueBlur101 What game is that with the microtransactions? I didn't get to see the video.
It uses egregious stuff like literal casino minigames and chance minigames like slot machines and pachinko machines in a game rated E for everyone by the esrb

@BlueBlur101 What the heck? I figured it was gonna be GTA or something where casinos actually make sense. What the heck do casinos have to do with basketball even?
