Jeez, I know we were just talking about Fire Emblem being too niche to break in as one of Nintendo's main series, but the launch sales for Three Houses look like they might just prove me wrong. If this game breaks even 3 million it'll put it in the top 10 Nintendo published Switch titles. And we know Fates sold about 1 and a half mil, so it's actually vaguely possible. We'll just have to see. Once we get some info on Japan / US sales, there'll be a better picture anyhow.
Going back to the screenshot talk, @Ralizah, @JaxonH, @NEStalgia. You should totally post some to the "Switch Screenshot Thread". It seems like, at least over the past few months, I'm really the only one contributing, lol.

Fates shipped nearly 3 million copies, actually (2.75m, to be precise). Awakening hit just over 2 million (2.25m, to be precise).
Three Houses will easily top 3 million. It may not have the duel release advantage that Fates had, but if the trend of selling double Awakening and Fates launch sales extends to all regions, we’ll be looking at over 4 million lifetime sales, with a potential 5 million within grasp. It just depends on what kind of legs this game has. Xenoblade 2 slowed way down after the hype dissipated, but FE games are known to be evergreen titles. Maybe not as much as Zelda or Mario, but certainly far more than Xenoblade.

@JaxonH Huh, guess the source I found was old or wrong. But yeah, sounds like it's near guaranteed to join Splatoon, Mario Kart, Mario Bros, Mario Party, LoZ and Pokemon in the top 10 then.
After having a moan the other day about the performance of MK11 on the Switch I’d like to add after a recent update it’s ran perfectly for me. Not a single crash or forced shut down after suffering quite a lot up till that point.
Wow, Digital Foundry reports Wolfenstein on Switch is actually a pretty significant improvement over Wolf2. I guess the people who were reporting their hands on experience by saying it was worse just didn’t know what the heck they were talking about (GameXplain, eh ehm).
Said it pretty much sticks to 720p docked, and the dynamic res is not nearly as aggressive as in the last game. Instead of drops to 360p, they said occasionally 684p, but only briefly and not often.
And they say handheld pretty much sticks to 540p. And again the dynamic res isn’t nearly as aggressive.
That said there are still some frame drops into the 20s, which sucks, but it seems this game wasn’t very optimized on any platform given even X1X 4K drops almost down to 30 from 60.
But ya. That’s really excellent news, as a firm 720/540 is the threshold where games look respectable for docked/handheld (unless there is a more cartoony artstyle, such as Crash Racing, in which case you can actually go lower and you don’t really notice it that much). This makes me much more interested in playing the game (if I ever have time). It seems the games are getting better as Panic Button gains experience. DOOM Eternal hype!
@Galarian_Lassie
I bet that’s because the 2nd and 3rd game are an “update” which the physical cart must download, and so the listing on the eshop matches the size of the base game on cart.
I’m expecting 18-20gb total.

So I tried Wolfenstein II on Switch the other day out of curiosity to see how it looks and performs. The performance is much more stable than what I played of DOOM pre-patch, but honestly the gimped resolution turned me off. Wolf 2 is a game bolstering with beautifully complex level environments and set pieces and it just isn't the same when I'm looking at a sub-720p image on my 4K TV. I know it makes me sound like a graphics whore, but Bethesda'/Zenimax's parent studios put so much effort into perfecting the look and atmosphere of their titles that some of the Switch ports excluding Skyrim kind of do the games a massive disservice. DOOM 2016 fared a lot better than Wolf 2 because of the uniquely muted art direction and effects, but I'd personally just buy future Bethesda multiplats on PC over Switch since I have the option, including Youngblood and DOOM Eternal.
So how many people here are planning on buying/have bought Youngblood on Switch or are buying DOOM Eternal on Switch, out of curiosity?

@BlueBlur101 Well, I got Youngblood (it's gonna be my first Wolfenstein game, figure I might as well start there and work my way up in quality considering it's not part of the main story.) and there is no doubt I'm getting Doom Eternal. Doom's reboot was an amazing title, and I REALLY need to finally finish it before Eternal comes out. Ended up getting sick, and then work cropped up and then other game releases and... yeah, it's the one incomplete game in my backlog that's really bothering me.
Wolf is definitely not as great on Switch, but games like that should really only be played for the handheld mode and gyro. Which is an awesome combination. Everyone needs a few good mindless FPS with gyro to default to on the go. DOOM and Wolf serve that purpose.
DOOM does fare much better though. I bet Eternal will be the best yet. I can appreciate playing Wolf 2 and Youngblood on the X1X, but DOOM Eternal is one I insist playing on Switch.

@BlueBlur101 I would only get these really demanding (and, thus, lower resolution) ports on Switch if I was planning on mainly or entirely playing them in handheld mode. If you're using it as a home console, they're better on pretty much everything else.
I'm currently debating whether I want to snag The Witcher 3 on PC for $14.99 or pay premium full retail and get a fully portable version of the game...
I think I'll wait and see how handheld mode looks first.

Has any other company managed as much of a turnaround as Bethesda in terms of building an audience on a system? For a company that's been around since the Amiga and hadn't released a Nintendo title outside of a few licensed games on the Wii / DS (Before anyone says anything, the Doom games were released by Id, not Bethesda), their support is a ludicrous level of turn around. Skyrim, Legends, Blades, basically all of the Doom games (assuming the 64 rumor is true), 2 Wolfensteins, all over the course of three years. And possibly more to come in that time frame too...
@Ralizah I personally already have Witcher 3 on Steam and it is a fantastic game, so you should get it on there in order to take in the breadth and beauty of the environments, but I might consider getting it again on Switch to see how it performs and for the physical goodies that CDPR always package with their standard editions. I'll be doing the same with Cyberpunk 2077 on PC as well.

@link3710 I mean the support is good but its really disappointing that most of the support is coming from other Bethesda studios outside Bethesda Game Studios. id Software has the entire main Doom series on Switch excluding DOOM 64, MachineGames has two of the latest Wolfenstein titles, but I still would like to see a 2 pack port of TNO and Old Blood, and Bethesda Game Studios literally just has Skyrim as their sole AAA effort, alongside ports of two mobile titles
I'm baffled that they didn't just think of porting the Elder Scrolls Anthology from the PC since that has yet to show up on any platforms. HD Remasters of Morrowind and Oblivion would pair up really nicely with Skyrim.
I doubt Prey or any Evil Within game, let alone GhostWire Tokyo could run on the Switch without melting it but I would at the very least like to see Prey. However, there is absolutely no way in hell Starfield or Elder Scrolls VI are coming to Switch at all. Those seem like they're made solely with the power and performance of next-gen systems and high end PCs/gaming laptops in mind.
So basically, id Software is the only studio within Bethesda actually supporting Switch on a consistent basis, while MachineGames and especially BGS could do a little better.
Bethesda is definitely surprisingly supportive of the Switch compared to other 3rd parties, but they have yet to wow me with an announcement like 2017 with DOOM, Skyrim and Wolfenstein 2
EDIT: Sorry. BGS has THREE mobile titles on Switch. I completely forgot Legends was coming too
