@GrailUK It's in direct competition with God of War and therefore potential sales of both software and console sales. Despite what Nintendo likes to put across, the Switch is definitely for the most part being advertised as competition to the PS4 and Xbox One. The kind of third party triple A titles Nintendo has tried to get onto the system is the same type of games the other systems have. So I think going up against God of War does matter, especially if Labo puts off potential Switch buyers for the kiddie image it represents.

Nobody has a definitive answer on why there are differences in the cartridges but it would seem that the black cartridges are 16GB, while the green cartridges are 8GB or less and appear to have a PCB. I'd love to see the back of the Dragon Quest Heroes 1&2 cartridge to see if that looks different again, it's the only 32GB produced cartridge to date.
I'm thinking Mario Kart 9 will probably have a "Transform" feature, which your vehicle can transform into another form. Imagine from Go Kart changes into a Motorbike or from ATV changes into Mini Aeroplane, etc. Probably, a new type of vehicles, floating vehicles like Magic Carpet / Mini Aeroplane / Jet Pack / Superhero cape / Wing , etc (Remember Chocobo Racing PS1 ? There were Bahamut with its wing, Black or White Mage with their Magic carpet )
Magic Carpets?? ..I'M IN!!! Haha! Yeah, they kind of have it already with the glider and the water propeller transformations in MK8 - but if they were to take it even further and have space rockets and all sorts of other crazy stuff it could be a lot of fun! I like your thinking!
Yet to see if that God of War game is gonna be any good. It's always been a Bayonetta/DMC type game with its own flavor. I'm not really sure what they're going for with this new one, but it doesn't look like that style game anymore.

They're not even after the same market? How are they "direct competition"?

I gathered that many Switch owners own it as a second console.
The kind of third party triple A titles Nintendo has tried to get onto the system is the same type of games the other systems have.
The Switch also has its own games, making it appeal to Xbox and Playstation and PC gamers.
So I think going up against God of War does matter, especially if Labo puts off potential Switch buyers for the kiddie image it represents.
Given that the Switch has outpaced most consoles in its first year, I doubt Nintendo has anything to worry about. I would dare say that the timing for Labo is smart given how the Switch is now selling like crazy.
And no, God of War does not matter.

Are people really saying Labo will fail because it will release at the same time as God of War? Wtf??
Labo appeals mostly to casuals, kids and "kids at heart" none of which care about GoW. And when thinking about which system to buy most people won't care about GoW (as in most people who care about it already own a PS4) but Labo is something completely new that might grab the attention of people to the Switch.

@SLIGEACH_EIRE Danganronpa would be AMAZING to have on the Switch. Too bad I've already purchased V3, but I'd absolutely buy any subsequent games going forward on the system.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
Well it seems on Amazon UK at least that buying Nintendo Labo and Shadow of the Colossus at the same time is a popular choice so maybe you have PS4 owners wanting to buy a Switch because of Labo.
but Labo is something completely new that might grab the attention of people to the Switch.
I don't think so. Labo+Switch would be too much expensive for new customers that were not already interested in Nintendo consoles. And there are already many different toys made with materials like cardboard or wood or things like that. Labo will probably be a good investment for people that alreeady have a Switch and have young children and maybe are really into Nintendo or at least gaming in general and like to see their children play with the same things that they are passionate about as much as possible so Labo will be just another excuse to do so.
I used to be a ripple user like you, then I took The Arrow in the knee
Nekopara is coming to PlayStation 4 and Switch in Q2 and Q3 2018 in Japan, developer Neko Works announced at Taipei Game Show 2018. The comedic visual novel sees the protagonist open a Japanese confectionery alongside two cat girls. It is currently available on PC in English across four volumes.
Labo+Switch would be too much expensive for new customers that were not already interested in Nintendo consoles
Gonna disagree. LABO + Switch is no more expensive than Zelda + Switch or Mario + Switch. A console sells over multiple years by constantly making new people interested in it via different games. This is one of them. Some people were interested because Zelda. Some were interested because Splatoon. Some were interested because Mario. And likewise, some will be interested because LABO.
Anyone who deems it too expensive isn't a potential customer of video games in the first place.

All games sell consoles. But only a few are so high profile it makes a difference in the sales charts. Labo won't sell switches on its own, it isn't like super Mario, Mario kart, Zelda or Pokemon in that regard.
But labo might be a good complement for switch owners with kids instead of buying other toys. The price isn't that bad compared with other toys such as Lego.
And no, God of war won't destroy labo. There is basically no overlap in the audiences for those games.
Okay, there was some trailer for it (Direct Mini maybe? Don't feel like rewatching that, lol), what was that rhythm dungeon crawling game that was recently shown for the Switch? Any music/rhythm game that allows you to use your own MP3s automatically interests me. I haven't played many of those since Audiosurf, though.
