Folded already and bought Celeste there.I tried using my Revolut card on the US Eshop but it didn't work, I was able to use it on Amazon US though to buy a $20 Eshop code which worked out great as it costs $19.99.

For UK Switch owners I highly recommend making a a Revolut account and a South African Nintendo account and buying your games from there. Games are always cheaper on there than the UK shop. They work out a little more expensive than the US Eshop but to buy from there you need to purchase a US Eshop code off Amazon which only come in set amounts. So you can't just pay the exact price for the game. Making a Revolut account is very straightforward, there's no foreign transaction fees and conversion is done at the live rates. Everything about Revolut is brilliant actually. It's going to save me a fortune when I get back to Thailand. No ATM charge, no crappy conversions from the bank, no PayPal fees for receiving money for my business,live 24hr chat support through the app. Love it.

That Doom sale is tempting.

Second chapter done. You can add story and characters to the list of things I like about Celeste. And the music and visuals are making me emotional. This is something special.

I bought the game with the mindset of "I'm sure it's a great game. I really liked how Towerfall controlled but I still wish Towerfall would have come first because that's probably going to be the better game." but now I'm really loving it. I want to take it slow and enjoy every moment. It has already been worth the 20€ for me.

Sorry for constantly gushing about it but I'm in love.

Pixark looks interesting to me. Might be good pick up nd ply for a little bit. WWE2K18 is my favorite Switch 3rd party game. The patch in my opinion have improved things. I do need to go back and look at intros to see if they are improved but gameplay is more than playable. My son loves playing the game with me. Good times!

Ya I know. That's precisely my point. They're bringing newer games and older games, which shows they can bring any game they want.

@Late Your gushing over the game combined with the Metacritic score is what pushed me into buying it now instead of a few weeks down the line. Can't wait to play it tonight.

That's not true.

Square Exix said point blank that crossplay was necessary to come to Switch, so unless they stomp their foot down with Sony, it ain't happening.

Maybe it never got far enough to hit this snag with X1, maybe there's deemed no market, but I do know Sony isn't allowing crossplay, and they're certainly not going to start if it means everyone is forced to buy their version. Not unless SE has leverage of some kind.

Huh, when one considers how anti-crossplay Sony is these days, could they have influenced Monster Hunter World having cross-country but not cross-play? Food for thought.

Having a Battle Royale game and something like Overwatch sure would help give some meaning to the paid online service. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Splatoon 2 and Smash isn't enough.

It's a logical observation only the vehement Sony defenders feel the need to deny. You don't have to hate them for it. You don't even have to dislike them for it. But to completely refuse to acknowledge this is an issue, and it exists... is willful, let's just say that.

Notice how they talk about it and yet you don't see that game on any other platform? Strange, isn't it. They talk about it so that they don't get blamed. They talk about it so that people like you and me see it and say ohhhh, well Square isn't to blame because they're doing everything in their power. Clearly they want to bring the game (and I'm sure they legitimately do want to bring the game, but not for it to fail, and without crossplay its chances to succeed become exponentially more slim).

Look. There are plenty of policies Sony has in place that contribute to as many games coming to their platform as possible, staying the relevant version as long as possible, and preventing as many other competitive versions as possible. Come on now.

That doesn't mean the game will never release on another system. But it does mean their policies are doing everything in their power to prevent it from happening. Something some people like to pretend doesn't exist. Something some people feel the need to constantly defend and mock and pretend it's just some boogieman theory. No. It's cutthroat business. And anyone who doesn't understand cutthroat business needs a reality check.

@Grumblevolcano In order for third party developers to take the Switch seriously in terms of online play, Nintendo needs to overhaul it's entire service prior to introducing the paid service. But I don't see them doing that, therefore with the exception of the odd game like Payday 2 and FIFA, I don't think you will get those big games.

@FragRed Hence making the paid online service kind of pointless. Nintendo would probably be better off keeping online free but locking retro games behind a paid subscription.
