@Grumblevolcano
I checked my region and it said Americas, which I am presuming is US/NA one. Have never had any indication that I have a EU account, for example all my Splatfests have been NA ones
I do wish it was Zero Gunner 2 instead but that's one release closer to it happening. Samurai Aces and Gunbird 2 were also announced as coming soon so maybe those will come first. Either way, it's all good. Strikers 1945 and Gunbird in TATE mode are 2 of the finest shoot-em-ups I've ever played.
@antster1983 Wow, I wonder if there's a chance it will appear in tomorrows update? The first 2 Zerodiv games made a stealth appearance just like that. They released in Japan with no previous fanfare and hours later were on the UK Eshop. Fingers crossed the same happens this time.
Eh. I'm skeptical. I don't feel like that data takes everything into account. For example, how many of those were actually a "Mini Direct - Nintendo Direct' pattern, and not some other kind of Direct, like a Nintendo Direct for a specific franchise?
Just a quick glance at the actual Nintendo Directs cited shows that even the first instance does not equate to what we are seeing now. The first Nintendo Direct Mini there listed was for a specific title, Brain Age: Concentration Training. Whereas the following "full" Nintendo Direct, was a full Nintendo Direct for a specific title, as well - Dragon Quest X. Not to mention that this all happened just a month or so after an E3 Direct.
In comparison to our current instance, that does not line up. The Nintendo Direct Mini we saw was a general Nintendo Direct Mini. It was a general presentation. It may have been small, but it still can stand on its own. A skim through the list only really shows to me one instance that really seems to be a close instance of two Nintendo Directs that were not toward a specific title, and not for a specific region (another factor that needs to be taken into account), and that was July 18, 2013 to August 7, 2013. Interestingly enough that is a perfect instance of a Nintendo Direct Mini followed by a full Nintendo Direct, both general, and both not region-specific. However, as I said, it seems to be the only of its type. There could be other instances, as I was just skimming, but it clearly is not anywhere near as common as the image's data shows. The image's data conflates general Nintendo Directs with specific Nintendo Directs. They are two very different kind of presentations, they function differently.
It could be that Nintendo DOES come out with a full Nintendo Direct soon. However, there isn't much if anything actually pointing toward a pattern of this happening. A specific Nintendo Direct toward a game like Fire Emblem Switch is much more likely than a general Nintendo Direct. As I said, it could happen, but... People really need to be careful, and need to look more closely at data before making any such major inferences like this.
This "new play" thing - any chance it's going to be that Ubisoft Starlink thingy? It's basically another toys-based video game, which is a genre I will never get on board with but I appreciate there is a huge market for.
@Krull I doubt that for two reasons:
1. Starlink is multiplatform so Nintendo probably wouldn't be announcing anything to do with it themselves. Ubisoft will probably handle any announcements to do with that game.
2. The wording of Nintendo's post suggests it will be something new that we haven't seen before.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
I know this will raise some speculation, but for some reason if you go to Dragon Ball FighterZ official website, you'll see in a platforms list a "console" label under PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Could it be that Nintendo Switch is finally getting this game?
Making promise is easy. The hard part is keeping it.

I was skeptical at first, but that really does seem to be a placeholder for an additional console. Given the only choices at this point are Switch, Vita and 3DS, I think it's a pretty good sign we'll see it actually.
Wouldn't Switch technically be under console too if it was coming as it's a hybrid rather than just a handheld. I think if anything this suggests a Vita port.
