@Ralizah I was never one that thought it would release next year. Especially as long as Tokyo Mirage Session took to release. Not to mention games like Persona 5.

@YummyHappyPills Why did I post news about a game? Because this is the Nintendo Switch thread, and SMT V is a game that a lot of people are looking forward to.

Wouldn't think that needs to be explained.

@YummyHappyPills I think you're looking for things to get upset about if you're reading that much into my comment. It's hardly something I wanted to be "right" about in the first place.

@Spoony_Tech Yeah, Atlus takes its time developing games. Which is likely why they're basically perfect on release. I remember when Nintendo was like that.

@YummyHappyPills To be fair I've seen quite a few people assume it was coming next year. I personally think Metroid Prime has a better chance of making it before SMT V.

@YummyHappyPills Sounds more like you're thin-skinned enough that you read malicious intentions into otherwise innocuous comments.

As I said, it's hardly something I'd want to be "right" about in the first place.

But this conversation is off-topic, and, frankly, pretty ridiculous. So I'm bowing out now.

@Spoony_Tech Honestly dont asdume anything with game releases. Until its the day it comes out dont be hopeful but also dont expect delays.

Personally Id have just left the link and the developer comments. I dont see why people thought it was 2018, probably the gaming media once again assuming for us.

You know. Like Dark Souls on the system. Thats a thing apparently (At this point if the media says it I look in the exact opposite direction).

SMTV will come when its ready, to the Switch. 2018 is already quite happy with pOT, Wolfenstein, Yoshi, Kirby Star Allies, Fire Emblem, lots of creative indies and maybe something from a western publisher who knows.

Ha ha. Internet humour. Seriously thats all people who do anything creative with Nintendo stuff think is gonna happen.

@NaviAndMii Yep. Just like it's economically viable to double down on MTX, rather than develop new games. The return per dollar spend on MTX by the developer is a lot higher than actual game development. And it sucks, because publishers will follow the money. DLC is in the same boat I think. Not as viable as MTX, but it's an easy way to sell re-used assets for 33% or 50% of the price of the original game. And let's be honest, you should be glad if the DLC offers anything substantial compared to the main game, but you're never getting the same 'dollar per content' out of it as you would get out of the main game. Anyway, DLC is fine I think, just don't overdo it. Not every game needs it.

@Octane Meh. Im returning to my neutral stance on things. The moment I have a view on something people are down my throat.

So from now one all Ill say to new info is "Thats nice", because at the end of the day its a simple product designed to entertain us briefly (comparatively) and and anything more than acknowledging it exists is having an opinion on the matter

@YummyHappyPills He was just telling everyone on here SMT 5 is not gonna be a 2018 title or even 2019.Cause a lot of people have been getting their hopes up for a 2018 release, but it isn't possible. Don't know why you went attacking him.

@MsJubilee Because in my neck of the woods (geographical location) saying the phrase "You see people?" Is condescending. I dont appreciate people who talk down on others because at the end of the day we are all carbon based atomic constructs.

@Dev I'd really like a Neon Yellow Joy-Con and a Neon Green Joy-Con to complete my set - but to do that I'd either have to:

• buy both the Neon Yellow pair and the Splatoon 2 pair and just sell the 'spare' Yellow and Pink Joy-Con
• or buy each individually on eBay for an inflated price
• or put my faith in a stranger to trade with
  ...none of which are particularly appealing options

I wish that we could just order the specific custom colour combination that we'd want off of the website or something instead - I'm not particularly attracted to any of the current pre-packed Joy-Con bundles, but I'm also conscious that I'm limiting my local multiplayer experience by only having 2 controllers

Very much a 'first world problem' of course (not gonna cry about it!) ..but I'd still like to see the ability to make custom Joy-Con combinations rolled out worldwide (as I believe you can in Japan?)

EDIT: @YummyHappyPills I really doubt that @Ralizah meant it the way you took it - never comes across like that type of person to me

All I care about is getting a joycon with an actual D-Pad on it. I shouldn't have to mod and risk breaking one of my expensive controllers just to be able to properly play a side-scroller.

@Tsurii I'm going to riot if they turn SMT V into an idol game as well.

@Ralizah I mean Persona 5 has a UI designed by the Zodiac killer so I expect some horrible BS to happen to this game.

So general question, why do you own a Switch?

Nintendo games?

Portability?

It fits into your life so why not?

Some other reason?

Im very curious as to the why people are buying it.

@YummyHappyPills Nintendo games only. I don't really care for the portability and such.

So Nintendo people to personalize their Switch's, Okay lets start with the Left Joycon with a proper d pad and then on my wish list is the Right joycon with the analog stick moved to the top! as I don't really get on with the offset stick thing in portable mode. There is money to be made Nintendo get to it!
The same article also talks about Nintendo's next console, that's easy keep the current size of the Switch make the screen bigger by getting rid of the black bezel, throw in the most powerful and cost effective chip Nvidia can offer and for the gimmick VR! Job done sit back and relax! But this being Nintendo can't see it being that easy!

I think the DLC comments are promising, especially that maybe as a result we'll see stuff like MK8 Deluxe DLC, more waves of Fire Emblem Warriors DLC after the Awakening pack, etc. As for Xenoblade 2, I think the expansion pass will take a BotW style approach.

@Tsurii It's not really a concept I care for, personally. It's certainly not a good fit for anything related to SMT.

With that said, TMS isn't a terrible game. I actually quite liked the dungeon design, and the cute way the GamePad was used. It's a decent Persona-esque game, although the music, characters, and story were all kind of subpar. At least, for the 20-ish hours I played it.

I don't think the FE characters and references added much to it, either. And after the low sales and localization controversies, I don't really see Atlus collaborating so closely with Nintendo again in the near future. Which is probably for the best.

@YummyHappyPills I bought it at launch partially because I love the hybrid form factor. It's the system I've always wanted, but never thought was possible.

But I also love Nintendo games. The January presentation, despite disappointing everyone else, completely sold me on the system. Especially since the gorgeous Breath of the Wild was going to be a launch title.

So, between the stellar announcements and the innovative design of the system itself, I absolutely had to have it.
