@Spoony_Tech
Ya I was wondering if the download code counted.
I played the first game already on 3DS back in 2011 or 2012. Played the full campaign through then played the full RAID mode campaign online with my brother.
And I bought the first on Wii U and PS4. And got the 2nd on Vita and PS4.
But I had to have both. The full PS4 quality versions on console + handheld + tabletop with motion controls and HD Rumble and amiibo? Duuude. RE with motion controls is one of the best all time combinations there is. Had to have it.
I'm going to replay the first game all the way through, going to play the second all the way through (never got past first few hours on PS4/Vita) and then me and my bro will play RAID mode in both games together all the way through. One of my favorite gaming memories to date was RE Rev RAID mode online. Only now we can do online and local wireless when he visits.
Went to ResidentEvil.net and claimed all the bonus items for RAID mode and transferred to my games. And spent some RE.net currency I earned on some more gear and transferred into my games. And loaded up my BP with amiibo so I bought a nice arsenal to start out with in both games RAID mode.

Btw, using the IR camera on the right joycon to perform the motion gesture for reloading is hands down the coolest use of motion on Switch yet. Obviously the more practical use is the gyro aiming, but it's so fun reloading by actually making a gesture imitating inserting a clip into your right gun. It's incredibly entertaining and I insist on reloading this way as opposed to hitting Y.
@JaxonH I'm disappointed they didn't use the motion in the pro controller. Don't see why they didn't as it would feel like Splatoon. These days I prefer to just grab the pro controller and play most games using that as it's far more comfortable for me.

If I was only ever able to have Monster Hunter and EO games in the future, I would be a happy man.
There's a very nice looking game called Embers of Mirrim coming next week, just spotted it on the UK Eshop. It reviewed well on PS4 where it came out during the summer. 77% on Metacritic. It's an exploration platformer where you control. 2 characters, one with each analogue stick. Only £15.99 too.
For limited time only, Nintendo of France is offering 5 euros discount when your eshop purchase is more than 20 euros and with PayPal as your payment method.
This offer is currently only for French Switch owners.
The only game where I've mostly used split Joy-con is Super Mario Odyssey and that was going into the game being aware of the odd Cappy controls for other methods. ARMS may have joined that if I played more often but so far I played the Testpunch in those short sessions before launch more than I've played the full game. Just the unfortunate reality of having such a strong game lineup, some games will inevitably be pushed to the side.
Mantis Burn Racing guys and girls. Top drawer stuff it really is. Looks amazing, controls brilliantly and with the extensive single player career will keep you busy for ages. Stellar presentation to boot, it could almost be a retail title. Worth every penny they're asking for it.
I'm in two minds about whether or not I get RE Revelations on Switch. On the one hand it's not the kind of game I'm usually into and I do already have it in my Steam library (unplayed). Two very good reasons why I probably shouldn't get it. But on the other hand it's reasonably priced and the sort of game that kinda shows off what the Switch is. Both in terms of the motion controls but also being a modern looking game that performs well.

An opinion is only respectable if it can be defended. Respect people, not opinions
After Sonic Forces PS4 arriving late because of Amazon, Pokemon arriving late because of Amazon and RoyalMail, and now Xenoblade not even dispatched...I just wanna play games ASAP. Its all I have right now.
Plus I mean...its not like physical games are all on the storage medium now anyway. Nor do we get many physical releases here in the UK, if we do they are late by months
Nah, not for me - physical is generally cheaper - especially when you consider that, once a console has been out for a while, you can begin to pick up pre-owned bargains as well! ..in the past, I've managed to pick up the likes of Skyrim (X360), Red Dead Redemption (X360) and L.A. Noire (X360) for just £5 pre-owned - you just can't beat that!
..also, changing a cart/disc takes seconds - not even remotely 'inconvenient' as far as I'm concerned - and your physical games will retain some degree of resale value in the future too! ..plus, having all of your games on display can make quite a centrepiece as well - my game collection is there for all to see and often makes quite a talking point, or just acts as a quick reference point for anyone who's come over for a gaming sesh in the evening
I'm okay with having the odd indie game or VC release as a digital download - but, for my 'main' games, I go physical where possible
@YummyHappyPills I didn't tag you in the post because I was just joining the general discussion rather than making a direct response to your post. I totally see why digital would be more convenient for someone like yourself, especially if online shopping is proving to be less than ideal.
For me, I live just outside a small town that luckily enough has a pretty decent independent gaming shop (which also stocks pre-owned/retro games) - and an Argos store (sells a bit of everything, but usually has a decent selection of games) - and a couple of supermarkets with reasonable gaming sections too...and, failing that, the neighbouring city has a couple of GAME stores (the UK's major gaming retailer) so our situations sound quite different in that respect. On the other hand though, I've got physical games dating back to the N64 era - and I'd like to continue that trend going forward if at all possible to keep my ever-expanding collection of games growing and growing - if I ever found myself in a position where physical games were proving more difficult to come by, I'd probably still go out of my way to try and track down a physical copy just to keep that going...wouldn't be ideal of course, but that's just what I'm like! ..and I'm also not the type of gamer that has to play something 'Day 1' - in the last 5 years, the only games I've bought on release day were GTAV, Breath of the Wild and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - and the last 2 were only because I needed a couple of games for my new console...but, y'know, we're all different - not gonna argue about how other people choose to enjoy their games - so long as we all enjoy them, that's all that matters!
But man...the past year happened and...I dont know. On PS4 it makes no difference it all installs anyway but on Switch...not only do I kinda want all my games accessible, I want them...you know...on time.
But man. I do love physical copies.
Oh I just remembered. My copy of Samus Returns was a few days late too.

@YummyHappyPills Apparently their strategy is working on you.....
I had a few (in the US) late preorders due to Amazon back a few months ago. Recently it got better (we'll see about Xenoblade....usually for me they ship it OVERNIGHT the night before it's due to arrive.....if they do it by midnight it's usually fine. If they don't do it until 3:00AM it ends up missing the release day. They don't seem to care, but in the US we have Amazon's own carrier for about 70% of shipments now, not sure if you have that there yet or not (you will.) So if I don't see it by midnight I know there's a 25% chance of getting it tomorrow. Though I'm still finishing FE:Warriors and just getting into Rabbids for the first time.
I've started ordering some things from Best Buy now that I'm a GCU member (thanks to Amazon not stocking L.A. Noire at all for ANY of the re-release platforms.) And I've done GameStop for a few things (including hardware) because they're the only reliable Nintendo dealer. GameStop always delivers late, we'll see about Best Buy (I pre-ordered Doom VFR there since they had it on sale for Cyber Monday AND took my GCU discount), and XC2 is Amazon.... Not sure if Amazon's issue is that Amazon ships down to the wire past when carriers will pick up (rarely have that problem with non-games) or if Nintendo is delaying their shipments until the last minute since their shipping process is likely to end up breaking street dates often.
But wow, you have otherwise really bad luck on ordering things....
I tell you what I don't like about physical though: modern PC games. I bought a physical copy of Football Manager for PC - put the disc in my drive - and it just redirected me to Steam to download the full game! ..it was a voucher masquerading as a physical game! ..that really annoyed me!
..my brother had a similar situation when he sent his friend (who was on tour in Afghanistan with the Army) a PC game to play on his laptop in his down time - only to discover that it wasn't playable off the disc and, being in Afghanistan, the guy wasn't even able to download it either - obviously, that's quite an unusual situation (and I don't know if it's true of all modern PC games) but it wouldn't have happened back in the good ol' days! **grumble grumble**
@JaxonH LOL, given my dislike for horror, I'd have to pass on that free copy. Even if it were all on the cart. @Spoony_Tech I agree with Jaxon though, split Joycon really is the reason to game on a Switch Certain games, mostly just Splatoon I feel better with the Pro...it suits the unified motions of each hand being more reliable, but most other games, FE:W, Rabbids, BotW, Disgaea, RMX, thumper, etc, I've found split joycons are SO liberating and comfortable.....(makes me cringe to HAVE to use a DS4 on PS4.) Wish I could have played ARMS that way, but since it automatically kicks into the motion controls that I didn't prefer in that game I had to use the pro or gripped controls.
@NaviAndMii Yeah, PC has been like that for a decade.....that's why I left PC and went back to Nintendo and Playstation when I did. Steam.....gamers love steam because "good service!", "cheap prices!" but I will only ever remember Steam as the company that ruined PC gaming and tried to do even worse until the courts stopped them.
@YummyHappyPills Wow. Are they always shipping late or do you just have a sucky regional postal sorting center? Mine runs hot and cold. I mean Amazon has had a few known issues this past year in the US with late shipping of Nintendo....could be NoA's fault for all I know though.
As for GAME, are their pices higher on launch day than other stores though? I would think everyone's charging MSRP? How about GameStop, do they still have their UK operations (online?) They're the last place I'd normally recommend, but at least they're better than what I've heard of GAME.....
