@FragRed It is? Hmmm, then why did it make it's way over to PC as a complete edition? Sony tends to keep their exclusives on their platform, after all.
@AlliMeadow Yeah, but I'm serious. What have they made in recent years that resembles a first person shooter or action/adventure game? I can't think of anything.
@FragRed Koei Tecmo also released it on PC. Bloodborne was funded by Sony, Nioh wasn't.
I'm sorry, but which team at Bandai Namco is capable of developing a first person Metroid game?
Imagine the outcry if this turns out to be true! It will be Federation Force levels of disappointment all over again.
What's funny is that it's the same reaction people had to Retro waaaaaay back with Prime 1.
“What?! Who is doing Metroid?! And in 3D?! They haven't made anything before! It's gonna suck, Metroid doomed“ etc etc.
Over a decade and a half later we were hoping that same team was behind the 4th game.
I wasn't. Retro Studios aren't what they used to be. They've lost too much talent over the years. Now they seem to be stuck on 2D DK games and helping out on other games. They also have to be one of the least prolific studios around. Over the last decade or more, what have they made that's original? Metroid Prime 3 and 2 2D sidescrolling DK platformers. Not counting MPT which is a port or DKCR on 3DS. Maybe I've missed something.
Dark Souls Trilogy is almost certainly a lock for Switch.
1 We know they got Dark Souls 3 running on Switch 2 From Software is a development partner, and DS is their premier game 3 Unlike Wii U, there's no reason for them to have backed out... Switch is still hotter than ever
I'd be amazed if after all that, we got nothing. If FromSoftware was like ya, we know we're a development partner and all, and we know the system is super hot, but uh... nah. Just nah.
Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced
@JaxonH I wouldn't say the trilogy is a lock, rather that something Dark Souls related is likely a lock. Maybe the trilogy, maybe just Dark Souls 3 while the other platforms get the trilogy, maybe a spinoff, etc.
@JaxonH the problem i can think is that DS3 is already 30 fps on xbone and even drops to mid 20s in some areas, so how much would they have to cut to maintain that FPS, its not like DOOM where they can clearly scale down since they cut the frame rate in half. And even then there were huge compromises both graphically and performace wise.
Getting upset over a change in developer for MP4 is stupid before we've even seen any footage or heard any information on it. I would never have guessed that MercurySteam could make a decent 2D Metroid game, but here we are!
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah I don't think anyone's getting upset. I just haven't seen anything from Bandai Namco in recent years that convinces me they can deliver a great Metroid Prime game. However, that doesn't mean they can't. So we shall see.
@diwdiws they are probably just pushing it to the maximum on the graphics settings that they could possibly go without going to the point of becoming unplayable... The game isnt very impressive graphically so they could easily scale down shadows and other settings and of course @720-900p easily get 30fps on Switch.
@BLP_Software No, MercurySteam has exactly one very mediocre Metroidvania to their name before Samus Returns. They were the people I associate most closely with the decline and death of the Castlevania series, so I was wary when I heard they were developing SR. Thankfully, Nintendo kept a close eye on them and seems to have brought out the best in them, because SR, while not one of the best games in the series, is pretty darn good. A real return to form for Metroid.
If MercurySteam can create a good 2D Metroid game, I'm confident in BN's ability to create a good 3D one (if the rumor indeed turns out to be true).
The only news I will weep in despair over is if Arzest turns out to be the developer.
If kinda prefer not to have a Dark Souls port but for From Software to create a Switch exclusive much like how Bloodborne is exclusive to the PS4. I don't think we will get a trilogy port no matter what, partly due to porting resources and how easioy would that be to stick all three games onto a 32GB cartridge?

@SLIGEACH_EIRE SquareEnix is totally going to port over at least one Final Fantasy next year, probably more, do you honestly think they are not?
As far as next year.. Im actually pretty excited for Kirby.. that game actually looks tits.. and I used to play more than one of the Kirby games when I was a kid. Another game I played as a kid is Yoshi and honestly I think this new one looks like trash. It looks like it cant hold the attention span to anyone over the age of 3-6 and Im a little disappointed I would go as far to say that after what Ive seen but it is what it is. Nintendo has so many other things coming next year that are just going to be awesome and also bring a HUGE amount of new Switch owners in.
As far as everything coming next year and Nintendo having a big release each month. They will No doubt have something planned for each and every month. They are being Really tight lipped until the next big direct this holiday season. We will get release dates for all the big name titles coming out next year and besides Mother3, Nintendo has some really big announcements ready to sure as [removed] grab attention at E3.
