@Grumblevolcano Is that why Nintendo hasn't given any details lol. Even if that number is say 1000 I can't see enough people caring unless Nintendo made it official.

You're right - the eShop offerings right now are pretty sweet. There's ALMOST something there for everyone at this point, and we're only a month and change out from the launch. And after taking a chance on the awesome Graceful Explosion Machine (and totally not being an indie guy in the first place), I really want to try Mr. Shifty AFTER they get a patch on it.

You must have a completely different eShop than me then.....

@Lethal I don't think you are replying to me, but since I was quoted I'll bite. As with anything it depends on what you like. However there are a number of genres represented in the eshop and that is baring Nintendo's own contribution. We are a month in and if you want you can play a shumup, a puzzle adventure (what genre IS Snipperclips anyway?), sidescrolling beat'em ups, several fighting games, a music game (which usually comes MUCH later), a rts lite game (rare enough on console as is), platformers and racing games. The majority of these entries are good games. If we had sports and an FPS game I'd say the switch has something for everyone on it. Some people only like the big multi million dollar budget titles, nothing wrong with that, and they would find the switch barren. However if you like a wide range of genres and art styles there is a silly amount of stuff to play and we are only a month in.

Like I said in my original post I'm biased. The Neo Geo is still my silver crystal and I love shumups, even without Zelda or bomberman I have tons to play out of box.

@NEStalgia
I'm not a big MP guy, in fact there's only a handful of games I play online. But that's Mario Kart, Splatoon and Monster Hunter, and I'm gonna give Arms a go online also. So it's like the only online games I play, are all coming out. We need single player too, but I think it's important to build that multiplayer community on the system as soon as possible so that other multiplayer games can thrive. There's a certain segment of the fanbase that enjoys playing games online, and if they adopt the system because they see several games they want to play online then other online games will be more likely to come to the system, or single player games with online modes.

I do plan to squeeze in Persona 5 after Zelda. I'll probably wrap up Zelda by the end of this month, and that gives me a good month for Persona. But only when I'm at home because every single day I'll still be bringing Switch with me on the go. Mario Kart local MP battle modes and Grand Prix cups at work is gonna be great. And having Fast RMX is like having F-Zero. I'm looking forward to Street Fighter and Disgaea 5 and Sonic Mania in May. I didn't play too much of Disgaea 5 on PS4, but I'm going to give it another shot on Switch. But I have a routine of always playing Street Fighter when a new system launches. I remember playing it on 3DS when no other games were out. This one looks way better though. I've always wanted to see a return to the SFII style of game but with modern graphics and updates.

Hrm. The irony of your statement is that there are a few different eShops depending on your region (which you can change on your Switch). However, I get the feeling that you find yourself pretty witty and weren't aware of that.

So... yea... sorry, brosef. You've got egg on your face. May wanna clean that up a bit. Here's a towel.

@Spoony_Tech Yes, the speeds in connection test were much larger after the update while still being in the same place.

EDIT: Nevermind, after some more testing it's not fixed but it's better than before.

All the eShop's do not have much to offer. And there is an egg on my face? Guess you are another one of those fanboys that can not stand it when someone has anything other than positive things to say about Nintendo.

And if you were witty at all you would have seen that my comment "you must have a different eShop than me" clearly meant that I was not happy with the selection of games available.

Nintendo should have had a good collection of vc titles ready to go on launch day. No reason why it couldn't have been done.

But please spare us all your response if you are just to try and reply insults. Your reply is not welcome.

As an Australian when I try to link my Nintendo Account to my Wii U/3DS eShop account I get this:

Error Code: 904-1404
This site cannot be used in your country at this time.

So as of right now my Switch does not know anything about my account activity on Wii U and 3DS. It may also be the case that in other regions your Switch is only aware of your eShop balance. So until that infrastructure is built there's no way to recognise previous VC purchases at all. Which would be a very good reason why they don't have the VC available yet. I'd rather wait if it means my previous purchases get some kind of recognition

It's also worth remembering that the VC took months to launch on the Wii U and 3DS. And although the Wii VC was there on day 1 it did still take a while to be what you'd call a "good collection".

@Lethal plenty of logical reasons to not have VC there immediately. retro games are something they never just give us, no company does. none of us would have dived into the indie games so deep if we had our favorite SNES, GBA, N64 or Gamecube titles to play on day 1 - not to mention Breath of the Wild. some people claim they want OoT and MM and SS and all this but what if you really did get them on day 1? you want FOUR Zelda's in one day? what for exactly?

the way I see it, the Switch is only a month old and has half a dozen really solid titles you should have spent hours with already. plus, another half a dozen indie games that surely capture your interest in some way or another if you are genuinely a gamer.

Virtual Console, seems like such a disaster at this point. I honestly question why Nintendo should care, when they're actively creating more competition for 3rd party games by putting their old games on there. I wanna say the top selling games on the Wii U charts, all time, was like half first party VC. Even with Wii U's many issues, that comes across to me as a serious problem.

Like seriously, if on week one your decently marketed, decently known indie game (or even not indie game) gets outsold by a STILL THE SAME PRICE AS 2007 SUPER METROID, who would ever be optimistic to put their game on a Nintendo console again?

VC is coming. If you bought a Switch not knowing that VC was ready to go, despite it being a main feature that drove you to buy one, or bought a Switch knowing it was coming later but still complaining that it isn't here yet...well...I only hope you are not old enough to vote lol.

@kkslider5552000
It should also be remembered that all their previous platforms with a digital store had only one thing at launch. The Wii just had the VC until almost a year after launch when WiiWare launched. The 3DS and Wii U just had indie games and random Nintendo developed stuffs on their eShops until months after when the VC launched. They've always given one kind of content a fair amount of time before flooding it with extra content.

And to make things worse, the Switch eShop as it currently is? I don't think it's at all ready for the VC. If they pushed 10+ VC releases tomorrow then the indie games would disappear. They need to create some way to categorise content a bit better so the less popular style of content doesn't disappear. And, as you said, the indie stuff is probably going to end up being less popular than the VC.

@skywake I am hoping that we get the ability to create folders for games (and give those folders pics to match a theme) before we get virtual console.

I really hope we get themes soon. Getting kinda tired of the boring black background. Hoping we good variety.

@skywake I agree with trying to make sure indie games don't disappear and go under the radar. Maybe they can add a new feature to eshop where each week thaey would highlight one or two indie games. This could help them stand out. But then again, they could always just use the News feature to do so.
