Just preordered Zelda BotW for £37.99 from amazon.co.uk today, I'm a Prime member so £2 off the preorder, but for today only use the code BIGTHANKS and you get £10 off a £50 order, just slap a jar of coffee onto your order and you're good to do, a free jar of coffee and a couple pounds off your Zelda preorder, win.
Most vouchers codes don't work with pre-orders, I just gave it a try and it says it's can't be applied to my purchase.
Works fine, but the order needs to be £50.00, so you'll need to add an item to bring it to £50 as the game is £49.99.
According to an interview Aonuma gave to IGN Portugal in Munich, there won't be an option to play the game with Japanese VA and English text. If you change the language setting on your Switch to Japanese, the game will as well, but then all of the text will be in Japanese. It seems, then, that the necessary data in on the cart, but it can't be changed within the game for some reason. Oh, and there's apparantly an alternate ending. http://pt.ign.com/the-legend-of-zelda-2017-nintendo-nx/38699/...
He also commented on some pretty nice gameplay footage while in Germany. An interesting tidbit from this: the version demoed now is the launch build and this is how the game will begin.
(Don't worry, no need know German. The interpreter speaks English).
I just watched it, a lot of it is stuff we already know about, but there are a couple of new things. For example you can safely approach a bee hive if you're holding a torch. Makes sense since smoke is used to calm down bees in real life too.
I don't know about you guys, but this got me incredibly excited about the game. More than I already was. The attention to detail in this world seems fantastic. The shield snowboard even slows down when it's not on snow anymore. Performance seemed improved, though I noticed few slowdowns it should run fine on the switch. This just looks like tons of fun. I can't wait!
Oh deer. Bambi is back and more majestic than ever!
Crazily enough, the first part of the video above got me even more hyped for the game (Don't have time to watch the whole thing atm). It could be due to Aonuma's aura of awesomeness.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@ClockworkMario It's weird that you can't change the VA. All the data is on the disc, so why not allow it? I'm not too bothered by it, but I understand that some prefer the VA in a different language.

Yeah I just read about that too.
And it's such a shame! Japanese VA and English text was exactly what I was hoping for, I would've even bought the Switch version just for that (instead of the Wii U version).
I'm really disappointed that there's no mixing different language text and voices. Mad even. There's no technical reason for the limitation on the Switch, none that I can think of! :---(
Hopefully they will patch it later on. Or maybe this is part of Aonuma's philosophy of keeping the experience similar between both Wii U (which has region specific versions) and Switch versions...
@Haru17 No it's not about that. It's about the Japanese VA being way convincing than the other ones. I really didn't like what I heard from the English and German VA in the story trailer, but I don't speak Japanese (yet). The Russian VA sounded also very good, but I don't speak Russian either. Maybe I'll try the Spanish version then...
After hearing the young lady trying to sound like an old lady in the trailer, I knew I wanted a Japanese dub.
It's so weird that literally all the information is there, the text, the subtitles, for each language, but they didn't make it so you had a different language for whatever voiced scenes there are, and English for all the text.
I'm still torn. £329.98 for the Switch and BotW, £35 for Wii U BotW, or £364.98 for all of the above. Yet what's the point of buying both versions of BotW? And if I don't get the Switch version there's nothing else I want for the system (day one) so there's not much point buying that either.
Wii U version it is then? I definitely want that considering it's the U's swansong. But I also want a Switch and the Switch version... so why buy the Wii U version? Aaagh, help!
