"The dubbing teams are top notch, almost Disney level to find voice actors that match the pitch of the original Japanese actors"
I was highly surprised that they did voice-acting for 6 languages. Man, they go all out!
"Enjoy your long loading times on the U"
I certainly will! Your loading times will be even longer....if you have to wait for a Switch to play it (presumably short supplies)!
Also: So the boxart where link stands sideways is the European one? Hmm, I like the American one better. However, the Wii u version still shows the artwork of link with the arrow. Is that a place-holder?
As for sidequests: I think those will give us the characters, the story, the lore. If you go straight for Ganon, its a simple story. But do the side-quests, and you get a richer story. Something like that. We'll see.
As for crying Zelda: In the Japanese version its maybe a little to much, but its always dramatic in Japan. The English crying however, is a bit to soft.
And Link who is beaten up: That looks quite heavy for a Zelda game. I am not complaining though, since it isn't to much in my opinion. But its heavy nonetheless.
@gcunit If done well, they are great additions. Zelda has always been about exploring, but instead of going somewhere without a goal, you can have characters pointing you in a direction and it can involve a little story. Not for every hidden item/treasure chest, but it can make the world feel more ''alive''. Like the link @ClockworkMario posted, seems like that guy is pointing you to the location of a horse with better than average stats (assuming the game counts it as a real side quest). Anyway, they can give you a sense of direction in a game that can be overwhelmingly big.
They've shown side quests during the let's play video at The Game Awards and one during the Switch Treehouse stream. The first was to go beat an enemy camp surrounding a goddess statue (the main quest) and the second was to find a white horse on a particular hill. Basically, they're just telling you to 'go play the game.' There's nothing Deus Ex or Elder Scrolls here so far.
The filesize reveals make your hope for higher res textures unlikely Haru. 13GB for Wii U vs 13.4GB for Switch.
400MB not enough to be higher res textures for the entire game. Probably being spent on something else. Maybe some bonus content in the Switch version. Or maybe just different file types being used that have inflated it.
There are comparison videos all over youtube. The graphics look just slightly different. Hard to say better/worse though.
If it is better/worse, it's like 5% better/worse.
Switch version has slightly better framerate during taxing moments though it seems.
@Dezzy Lol, it wasn't a hope. I was just saying every surface looked better in that one screenshot. I think it's cause the lighting and depth of field / draw distance effects on the Wii U E3 build were bad.
I think that particular scene it was just the different light angle. Normal mapping doesn't react with directional light (the sun) when it's in shadow.
I personally don't mind side quests as long as they're engaging and add something to the world, add some seasoning to the overarching story, or have a nice little subplot of their own. "Kill X monsters in XX seconds" doesn't really do that for me, for example.

Generic fetch quests can be annoying when they're overused. But some games have great sidequests that are mini stories of their own. Witcher 3 and Mass Effect 2 are both essentially 80% sidequests and 20% main story.
I am totally fine with having iron boots as long as Link at least gets an upgrade or something that allows him to walk faster outside of water. The slow-walking segments of the Goron Mines in TP were kinda tedious for me.

I don't know if someone has posted this already but it seems that Beedle really is in the game:
I was pretty sure that the guy in the previous picture was him due to his bag/portable shop looking like a beetle but it's good to have a confirmation.
It's its, not it's.

@Spanjard It's sold out everywhere, on top of that I'm not paying €350 for a Zelda machine, excluding the accessories and whatnot. No thank you, I rather wait until there are more worthwhile games out for the system.
I think the SD card reader only works in Wii mode.
Regular USB sticks work as additional hard drives. They've repeatedly said that won't work very well but it's always been fine for me.
May be different in an open world game due to the dynamic loading. I dunno.
@Dezzy Shame, still have a couple of SD cards laying around. Maybe I'll delete some of that Pushmo stuff, I really don't want to delete any save files.
