@shani My Wii U has issues, it makes weird sounds at times. When it bricks, I only need a new Wii U and I don't need to go through their customer service to get the games back, assuming that the eShop is still supported on the Wii U at that point. As long as companies can't guarantee that my purchase carries over, or that I'll be able to download it again at any given time, then I'm going to stick with physical whenever I can.
@Meowpheel Well I can understand amiibos being a collector's item, but a disc? It has zero sentimental value for me. And it's inferior to flash memory (r/w speed, durability), discs are easier to break or scratch and after a decade they become unusable. @Octane Oh, that doesn't sound good. But that's only another reason for me to prefer the digital version. If your Wii U is defective, this could also affect the disc. Or maybe the disc will be stuck in there and you can't get it out. After ~ 10 years, the disc won't work anymore anyway.
And if you send your Wii U to the customer service and get it back (or get a new/refurbished one), all you have to do is log into your account redownload it from the eshop. Simple as that!
And of course the eshop will be supported, why shouldn't it be? The 3DS and the Switch are continuing to use it. Unless they're planning to shut down Wii U services completely in the near future, which would be a real shame.
But if you're worried about that, I'd suggest you buy a separate usb flash drive, download the game onto it and store it somewhere safe. That's way more reliable than a disc.
And aside from all that, loading times from a disc are also slower than from a flash drive. See XCX.
@shani Haven't really noticed any differences in loading times on the Wii U. Well, I do take great care of my discs, and all of them are still in a great condition. Even all my GameCube games still work; I still own PC games on disc that are over 20 years old, and they too work fine. I know disc rot is a think, but as long as you don't expose them to high humidity or a lot of sunlight, then they should last at least a couple of decades. Nobody has a good understanding of the lifespan of optical media, since there are still discs from the 80's or before that are apparently in a fine condition. I'm not too worried about that!
Of course, it might be this motif only has internal meaning, which will make sense once we know the story. At least the blue on the flower is kinda similar to the blue color that dominates this game (from Links clothes to the magic arrows etc.)
Don't forget about the amazing Goron scarf!
The goron, zora, and bird man heroes are all wearing a similar blue scarf. Maybe the myth of the hero permeates all five cultures this time around?

The tales go like this... After the legendary triumph of Windwaker, all races sought out to find this hero who saved all. But in vain, they could not find him(he had other things to do, insert hourglass, spirit tracks) but found at his legendary house a BLUE shirt and chose this clothing to use as garment to celebrate the Hero of Winds!
I think I'll start visiting this thread less....It's getting hard for me to keep up with everything, plus I don't want TOO much spoiled for myself. XD I will say that I watched the English trailer, and I can see how some people think the voice acting is kinda meh; it's begun to grow on me a bit, though.
Currently playing: Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy (Switch)

I think it's meh, but meh is what I was hoping for. I was worried it was going to be atrocious.
My only beef with the English dub is Zelda's crying. She sounds like she's choking on something, not crying and it makes the transition in the trailer awkward compared to the Japanese and LA Spanish dubs.
I'm almost convinced at this point that BotW is in the Fallen Hero timeline, and that Zelda, somehow, was trying to take the Hero's place to bring hope to Hyrule's people. The royal family is no more and as they can't guarantee the safety of their people, each tribe (Gorons, Zora, etc) selected champions to defend them agaisnt the monsters. Although, you've got to admit the old man's design in the plateau is too similar to WW King's to be a mere coincidence...
In the Treehouse segment, they showed a couple of Hylians being attacked in the Plateau by monsters, so I assume that's what motivated the tribes to get their champions.
Dude, don't be like that. Ask your parents to play a game: not everyone has learned the reflexes or has the manual dexterity to move a free camera smoothly.

Most people buying open world Zelda games have though.
So here's the starkest difference I've seen between the Wii U (top) and Switch (bottom) versions.
Pause on the scenes of Link gasping and looking out at the castle. This was the ugliest shot I saw from E3 and the Switch version totally fixes it: the weird lighting / cel-shaded expression on Link's face, the short draw distance, and the faded / foggy look of objects in the distance.
Granted, the Wii U build for E3 could be 7+ months old by now, but it's still a marked improvement on Switch.
