Considering how story focused this one seems to be. Well, not story focused, but there's obviously important lore. It wouldn't make much sense for a female link anymore considering we know Link himself is woken up in a resurrection chamber. You know, unless they have link clones in different chambers. That would be quite interesting.
Because you know, princesses can only wear one dress all their lives. She can't be Zelda.
Anyway, getting a gender choice in a Zelda game would be refreshing. But the way it appears in the trailer, it doesn't look like how the main playable character would be presented.
Shocked. Thought if that's Kakariko I'm gonna be a 'lil upset. I thought you were going to say the moving trees thing, given that bit bit at the start.
Anyway, that looked like a furry Rito like Falco and OH MY GOD ZELDA'S BACK ON!!!
I feel bad for anyone who's gonna buy this game for the Wii U. Pretty lackluster frame-rate, judging by that gameplay clip they showed. Switch version all the way.
@KirbyTheVampire yeah I noticed that too. It's strange that they're still using the wii u to demo it, honestly. Now that we know about the switch. I hope it's more stable on the switch
Let me just say if the framerate is bad (read: way too much dipping below 30) on Wii U, I will be genuinely angry about it. But people's assumption online about it are silly.
Everything is pointing to it not even being a Switch launch title. Framerate optimization is one of the last things done with a game. That doesn't mean its impossible it will be like this on Wii U, but that means it's relatively likely that it won't be (especially considering Nintendo's focus on FPS).
I'm guessing the female character they teased there was Zelda, and I'm going to hole that the teasing and similar clothes to the protagonist means she is also playable. Even just partly.
Game looks great. They have taken the linear, easy and lack of depth criticisms of the recent Zelda games and gave people what they wanted it seems.

What some people wanted. Some people not me.
Anyway, it does look great, despite the lack of a real town or dungeon yet by the standards of past games.
And Koroks and Not-Rito are great. However, if this game pulls some "Zoras r dead n' Gorons homeless" crap again, I will ritually sacrifice my copy of The Wind Waker to the neighborhood cat.
@Haru17 Not sure you'd have to worry about the Gorons being homeless. Extinct maybe (especially if it takes place some time after Wind Waker), but not homeless.
Anyway, in the scene with the Star Fox ship, the Not-Rito is shown rocketing up into the air in a spiral updraft. Link himself stands on a wooden lookout platform ala The Wind Waker, with an edge to jump off of much like the deku leaf challenges by Dragon Roost. I think we just found our way up to the S.S. Mama Bird.
The tapestries clearly show Hyrule Castle, or the Hylians, as building the army of guardians.
Similarly, they also show the Shiekah eye's tear — which adds abilities to the Sheikah Slate like knowledge to a book — growing forests. Is anything to be gleaned from this, or is it just cool imagery?
We also see a fall forest. Seasons? Please? Nintendo plz.
That weird outpost building actually has a horse effigy as its roof. Rohan FTW.
Dog. I think Wolf Link will only be one of the many quadrupedal companions.
The villagers are all wearing red garb and weird woven hats.
How does the Not-Rito pull a bowstring taunt with only feathers!? Is he that ugly pokemon?
Death Mountain's lava floes are enhanced and now glow red even all the way across the map.
Hyrule Castle Town has more than a few redeads and dark clouds to worry about. The area is covered in this pink, viscous, phazon-like sludge out of which monstrous teeth rise. Is this goo spread by Ganon's meteor spell? Are we going to have to ride around Hyrule and clean it up Super Mario Sunshine-style? Does Ganondorf have glowing, hot pink highlights? Only time will tell.
Reddit has pointed out that the ruined fountain shown is actually Twilight Princess' Castle Town fountain with the Hylian Crest. So maybe the Great Plateau actually is OoT Castle Town and the current, good castle (before it was ruined) is the big palace you face Ganondorf in during Twilight Princess.
There is also a guardian hanging out in ruined Castle Town, behind something on the left side of the screen.
In the penultimate show of Link glowing, right before it cuts, part of a gold-painted cultural artifact comes into left frame. It's pristine, and greatly reminds me of the loops on the heads of guardians, though it is a different object. I think it suggests that scene takes place in some unweathered settlement or before-time where Link and Zelda can speak freely, if she is indeed captured.
