Link is actually a real name, not a very common one, but people used it before the series.

It's aparently also used as a nickname for "Lincoln". Maybe that's Link's real name.

Lincoln von Hyrule, according to Hyrule Historia.

No it's not, you liar

Got married.

I guess you haven't read the official Hyrule Historia errata...

Well, that explains why Link and Zelda never become more than just friends, they're related.

We are all someone's children.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Yeah, but like, in MM, Link is a kid so... if you're sayin they hooked up as 12 year olds...

Well in middle ages the life expectancy was 30ish so Link and Zelda where already nearly middleaged and need to get hitched soon or else facing being spinsters.

It makes me wonder, we never see what happens to Link after his adventures. Does he die peacefully at old age, or all alone and forgotton in a shack somewhere in the Lost Woods? What's he doing in the meantime? Riding Epona, fishing and smashing pots? So many questions...

I bet the Hyrule Historia errata has some answers...

Then again, I don't think the King of Hyrule would be very accepting of having his only daughter go out with the crazy kid who came one day saying he was from the future and that they should kill the leader of the Gerudo.

And, by the way "said" those things via charades because he doesn't speak.

and besides, link watched his adoptive father die, he met a princess who hired him as a spy, he went inside a volcano, got engaged to a sexualized fish, got his ass handed to him by the king of the gerudos, spent 7 years sleeping, and woke up to save the world. He was a man at the end of the game no matter what his real age was.

and as for zelda, she spent her childhood plotting the death of her father's new ally, she hired an assassin in green clothes, she got chased out of her castle and spent the next 7 years watching her land become corrupted while she lay in hiding learning how to be a ninja spy, she stalked link all over hyrule just to play her harp for him while masquerading as a man, then right when she reveals herself to him she gets kidnapped and help inside a tiny crystal for as long as it took link to finish collecting a bunch of medallions, and finally used her magic to help link slay a giant monster that threatened to destroy everything. they were both adults at the end, they deserved a love connection before going off into the next adventure.

and im pretty sure ocarina of time and majoras mask happened in close succession, because ocarina of time ends with link riding epona into the forest and majoras mask starts with hi riding epona in the forest

Sounds more like they would be irreparably damaged by the whole experience, Link specially.

For Zelda, her life in the dark future never actually happened in the end, so she's probably fine.

Edit: that's not how OoT ends.

i may be a bit hazy on the ending, but this is what i remember, link and zelda share a happy look as adults, then link puts the sword back in the temple and returns to being a kid, then he rides epona across hyrule seeing all his friends, then he arrives back in kokiri village in the lost woods, then the game goes back to the temple of time and the end goes across the screen

Yoshi

Majora's Mask happened shortly after Ocarina of Time because Link was given the Ocarina of Time and sent away on a journey by Princess Zelda in order to protect the Sacred Realm from Ganondorf.

Formally called brewsky before becoming the lovable, adorable Yoshi.
Now playing:
Final Fantasy XIV (PC) | The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening (Switch) | Celeste (Switch)

Eel

This is how it actually goes:

Zelda and Link float in the clouds, link returns the ocarina, she says he deserves to get his life back and sends him to the past. (This is where the time line splits BTW).

Credits

Link appears in the temple of time in front of the master sword and Navi leaves for unknown reasons, flying into the window that illuminates the sword (which is where the temple of time from TP is).

Link returns to the castle courtyard to find zelda and then "The End".

Months later, link goes away to find navi and Zelda gives him the ocarina of time, because apparently young Zelda is either a psychic or a bit dumb. Then MM starts.
