You know what? These videos I've been posting here made me realize something: Nintendo hasn't really been taking these videos down, have they? Breath of the Wild really does have a strong presence on Youtube. Maybe they've backed off to experiment what letting the community run free with their content could do for the franchise. Or... am I crazy?

Nintendo literally never takes down videos, they simply take people's ad revenue in order to do everything they can to make sure people don't WANT to post videos. Big difference. (though in terms of long term success for Nintendo, small difference)
I dunno exactly what's going on with that, but I can assure you that people have had to deal with this stuff for BOTW. It might just be less than usual because Youtube is arbitrary and stupid with what will or will not get claimed. Youtube once claimed me for a video that had an entirely different song than the one I got claimed for. It's the dumbest thing.
I have a brilliant idea, they should put this in the options menu as a toggle. To be able to toggle from normal sounds to classic, when in classic mode it would make all the sounds the classic Legend of Zelda ones instead, like the master beam classic sound, the shield deflect classic sound, the bomb, coming out of a dungeon up the steps, all the classic sounds, and even add in an ambiet version of the Zelda music that always played on the original too consistantly play, would be awesome to be able to toggle that on and off in options.
@kkslider5552000 Yeah, I suppose. Either way, the presence of BotW on Youtube is strong, whether Nintendo meant it to or not, and I'm sure it's only helping Zelda's (and the Switch's) post-launch sales.
Now that I think about it, Nintendo definitely didn't do anything intentional. I'm sure everyone is eager to jump on the open-world Zelda bandwagon regardless of whether or not they're afraid of Nintendo's penny-pinching.
@Nicolaison Yeah, I can confirm, Nintendo takes it all. From regular Let's Plays to podcasts and reviews. They claim the ad revenue of anything that's Nintendo-related.
@Nicolaison Yeah, the presence of BOTW on Youtube is strong. Seen a couple a Youtubers whom never post nintendo related videos post videos of BOTW. This certainly helped with the marketing. I remember there being so many discussions surrounding BOTW wild when it was shown off at E3 2016. So many people were talking about it and it seemed to be the only thing people wanted to talk about. The various reviews, let's plays and discussions definitely helped to bring awareness about this amazing game.
@Octane I really hope that Nintendo seriously reconsider their Youtube policy. They could at least change some of their terms for their program such as when you've signed up with them, all videos (even non-Nintendo related ones) give them some revenue which is pretty ridiculous and I think that Youtubers deserve to get a larger cut of the money earned.

@Eric258 I don't think you're allowed to post other videos when you're signed up to their Creator's Program, you're not allowed to post non-Nintendo games at least. And even their program doesn't cover all their games. Several are missing from their white list, including games like Pikmin 2.
Finally, after i reached 110 hrs, i upgraded all equipment! But i did not upgrade everything. What i took to 4 stars are fundamental things, precisely this sets: Ancient, Barbarian, Climber, Desert Voe, Flamebreaker, Hylian, Rubber, Snowquill, Soldier, Stealth, Zora, Champion's Tunic
I did not finish to upgade (leaved at 2 or 3 stars or could not because the game did not let me): Dark Link, Gerudo, Radiant, Jewels, Snow/Sand Boots
In the meanwhile i finished ALL secondary quests i had, and now i'm ready to start Central Hyrule, collecting last memories and finish this huge masterpiece!
Twilight princess, launching on Wii, had a 30% attach rate. Zelda. becoming Zelda again has had a massive impact.
But they started out the opposite. Twilight princess started its launch week with a 75% attach rate and botw with a 58% attach rate. Word of mouth did the rest.
Twilight princess was rapidly found to be mostly disappointing. A massive over world with nothing much to do but follow the purple dot on the map. Everything was scripted, even more hamfisted than the other 3d entries. The adventure and everything in it complete!y scripted, fake, like a theme park ride.... With many being dissapointed the most interesting things they saw prerelease were cut. After the first month the attach rate dropped to 30%.
BotW on the other hand, launched on a new console to a fanbase weary of being burned by the Wii u, as a title that had almost nothing shown (90% of all footage was the platue). That had been strung on in front of them like a carrot on a stick on a treadmill, for an entire console generation, nearly the only game of its kind for them, on the entire console for its entire life, people were fed up. It launched with a 58% attach rate, but when word of mouth got out, that you really COULD play the way you wanted, you really COULD run off in a direction and have an actual adventure, that you could create your own ideas and strategies, and be rewarded with the consistent rules of the systems instead of invisible walls, events not activating, no response from a static world, and insultingly obvious gating like obnoxious target signs.
Once people started playing, started talking, the attach rate skyrocketed from under 60% to over 100%. And that's on a game that went through dev hell and was most likely scrapped and rebooted, and released barely finished.
Now that's the kind of post-apocalyptic world I was expecting! Everyone's dead, you're the last man in Hyrule. Everyone expect the Gerudo guards, who still won't let you in as a man, of course.
@Nicolaison Yeah, I can confirm, Nintendo takes it all. From regular Let's Plays to podcasts and reviews. They claim the ad revenue of anything that's Nintendo-related.
@Octane It's (pretty much entirely) automated though. If the video doesn't have music, or the music isn't loud enough, and no cut-scenes are played, the automation can't catch it. Like, I'm pretty sure PBG is not in the creator's program, yet he posts Nintendo videos every once and a while. I also remember them cutting out content from their let's plays (just recently too) because the automated process flagged them. If you use commentary, very often this confuses the algorithm too much to flag your video.
And the no Pikmin 2 thing is quite upsetting. I would never use the Creator's program just because I'd need to make videos of Pikmin 2; it's one of my favorite games. However, this is most likely due to the licensed items in the game, like Duracell batteries, Skippy Peanut Butter, among others. Which, I would prefer to have them in-game than not, despite the consequences.
Nintendo says somewhere that they don't care if you make videos using their content...as long as you don't mind getting content id'd.
I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke! My YouTube Channel! Video game related, of course! My Pushmo Levels
@MasterWario Pikmin 2 was just an example I remembered. Because it was clearly missing, yet 1 and 3 were on there. But it was definitely not the only game missing. It's a weird list...
I know it's automated, and people already found was to cheat the system. Show footage of a Japanese Nintendo game and an English Nintendo game, and both NOJ and NOA/NOE try to claim the video, meaning neither can claim the video. I also realise that Nintendo isn't the only one to blame, YouTube allows it to happen, and the ID claims never work in favour of the content creators. At least most other companies are more open towards this concept.
Huh, I haven't seen the final battle without the divine beasts freed before.
It's not that Breath of the Wild didn't have a complex, multi-phase final boss battle, it's that it had absolutely zero dungeon boss battles besides. At least the titling scheme makes more sense now.
