OMG, some of the Spirit battles in WoL is so infuriating sometimes. Pauline just wanted me to throw my Switch against a wall or something. lol

@RoberTronell I just think the first point is weak. I do think Edrick and Steve both could make it in.

does an 8-Player team battle with all level 3 CPUs, is still the first one to die while everyone else has plenty of lives

...sighs I just...I just cannot have any fun with this game anymore. It's like the CPUs are at level 9 no matter what until the moment I'm out of the battle. Right when my last life, all the CPUs looked like they went back to true level 3 and even the battle seemed way less chaotic.

I don't know why they haven't fixed this yet...it's irritating and not fun when you can't even do anything with all the CPUs ganging up on you 24/7.

Online is still terrible btw. I hate playing with items. It's a chaotic mess that involves luck above all else. When I want to play 4-player smash or team battle the online system places me in an item battle like 70% of the time. Maybe matchmaking is better in the US? If you select 1 VS 1 as your preference it also does what you want most of the time, but if that's not your taste than f*ck you apparently, you get items.

It even makes me consider trying that arena b*llsh*t again where you have to wait half an hour to play.

I'm in U.S. on the east coast - matchmaking is pretty good. I'd say for every dozen games I get one with connection issues.

In terms of getting the games I want, I don't really play online with any specific game type in mind. I just kinda go in to have some fun.

I mean... you guys have played Smash with a bunch of friends before, right? Matches devolving into chaotic messes with items is kinda the name of the game unless you're trying to go pro in the 1v1 scene. At least that's what Smash has always been to me. I remember seeing a Smash tournament for the first time on Twitch and thinking how boring it was with no items and only two people lol

Apologies to people who prefer lots of fighters without items and such. Honestly seems kinda boring to me, but more power to you.

@Ralizah I've made it to 9.8. I just can't crack it and it's driving me to madness.

I think I was close to getting 9.9, I forget with who. When I boot the game back up again I could check. It was probably DK, since he's apparently my main in this game. lol

@Charlie_Girl Heh. I've gotten to 9.8 with a few characters, but, for some reason, I always choke or screw up near the end in a way that prevents me from attaining that crucial 0.1% extra.

I might sit down one day and just work on doing that with one of my stronger characters.

Finally got it this morning on my first Classic mode run of Ganondorf!

@Ralizah Congrats. That's who I used to get it, and I wasn't even attempting it. Ganondorf is just more beastly this time.

Ganondorf is my main and has been since Smash 4 haha

I think his playstyle just fits me best. Somewhat slow, but if he hits you... enjoy the pain.

I had a frustrating experience with Wolf that same day. Got to 9.6 right before the final boss fight, but he killed me and forced me to use a classic ticket, so I only went up 0.2 to 9.8.

I won't lie: I was quite salty.

Got 9.9 again. With Falco this time.

Snake 9.9 get.

I actually hit the max score on the stage before the boss, which was unexpected. Made the boss nerve-wracking, as I had no classic tickets at the time to save myself if he smashed me.

I wasn't actually intending to max his score on classic mode, though: I was going for that achievement where you have to clear classic mode with Snake starting on 5.0 difficulty without dying.

@Ralizah I think what's driven me most crazy about this game is that the only 9.9 I haven't had to grind for was Peach, who I just picked up and got to 9.9 before even the boss, beat it before I found out you could use classic tickets to maintain a 9.9. How many have you gotten at this point?
