My two cents for the remaining dlc 1. Vyse (Skies of Arcadia) 2. BlackRose (Dot hack) 3. Klonoa 4. Usagi Yojimbo/Space Usagi (well there was a C64 game ).I do realise that only Klonoa (who would be cool as) is a genuine possibility from that list but you never know. Think Vyse would be a hugely popular choice though. BlackRose over Kite as she's a far stronger fighter and ups the female ante. Usagi completely leftfield and the game seems to be rarer than gold on the far side of the moon. Snoopy, Speedy Gonzales, and Donald Duck in his ninja outfit Maui Mallard, other cool but unlikely choices.
@Grumblevolcano Exactly. It's Marx, and now checked the net on where to find him again.
I'm right before that area (did the Zelda and Castlevania areas first). That's how you deducted how I got the other WoL-only evolution-spirit. Glad, I didn't miss something!
One of the missing PKMN and Ike are now in my pocket. At 1297/1302 spirits now. Almost done. I have about 50 of the best spirits on Lv. 99
I got 20 of the 27 event spirits, and I haven't had many time to try to improve that count, but I hate when they do these timed events and the collectables can't be acquired anymore in any way.
At least in Mario Tennis Aces they end up giving the characters some time later.
I hope the Halberd spirit isn't WoL exclusive. I used it on my Ganondorf Amiibo, I thought it would make a cool tank character, but man, was he easily abused. The slowness made it so that he could never ever recover. Such a waste... I had to replace the Halberd spirit with another. Things went better from there and Ganondorf turned into an beast, now he's one of best Amiibo fighters. Armor Knight is incredibly powerful on characters with good recovery. So I'm hoping I'll encounter the spirit again in the shop or on the spirit board.
Also a tip for Amiibo trainers. There is an option in the Amiibo section that will prevent your Amiibo from learning. Sounds like something you want to keep on at all times. NO! I believe the option is there for a reason. It appears level 50 Amiibo can still develop bad habits. My best fighters are those that stopped learning sometime after level 50, so I recommend using this option when you think they have reached their peak. Definitely use this option when you want to let Amiibo fight each other, it seems they copy each others technics a lot. I have a few Amiibo that are addicted to spamming aerial attacks, it spread like a disease. I'll provide prove if you don't believe me. A well trained Amiibo will destroy a spammy Amiibo that never stopped learning, easily with all stocks remaining.
A piece of the Triforce appeared before you! (>'.')> ▲ Touch it now!
I just finished world of light 100% and I have a major complaint/dissapointment regarding final fantasy.
It could be counted as a minor spoiler so I’ll use a spoiler tag, but it isn’t story related or anything.
so aside from the fighter unlock battle to unlock cloud there is 0 final fantasy representation in WOL, there are 0 FF spirits, cloud is in 0 spirit battles and his stage is never used. Any other fighter appears well over 3 times each and I think the same goes for stages since there are 615 spirit battles and 73 fighter battles. I would expect something like this from konami, who suprisingly enough have major representation for both castlevania, metar gear and their older games, konami went all out. But square enix? Why wouldn’t they allow any representation in this game besides 1 fighter, 1 stage and 2 songs?
Third and final post for now (if I knew I would have combined them)
I really love spirits and don’t really mind trophies are gone, although it would have been nice if every spirit had a description and stated the exact game the particular spirit was from, now it just states the franchise with a few exceptions.
I hope every season pass dlc adds new spirits and maybe a WOL zone. Also I hope they update new spirits into the game.
@AlternateButtons I wanted to type out how to help with omega ridley but than I remember I 100%ed WOL with kirby alone so it’s a very specific tactic. So sorry can’t help.
@AlternateButtons I don't remember how I did Paula, but for Omega Ridley I just rushed in and punched him with Little Mac. His super armor and extreme power when giant and stuff really helps immensely.
I don't remember Omega Ridley's type, but if you equip the Metal Face Spirit to be giant and metal at the start, that could probably help you out initially so you can nail him with multiple Smash attacks.
@AlternateButtons For Paula it's about taking advantage of cheap KOs, once Ness has done his Final Smash go up against the rightmost building and if you're lucky side smash attacks will KO both fighters (remember to jump if the car warning sign appears) if you use the Victini spirit with a powerful primary that's either neutral or grab type. My fighter was Ganondorf for that battle.
Can't give advice on Omega Ridley as it was a luck victory with Marth in WoL.
If you’re metal, curry doesn’t flinch you. Against omega Ridley, I actually used Ridley with metal and giant spirits. Then rushed in and spammed down+A

@AlternateButtons It's in Norfair (I think) so try approaching him from under so the curry doesn't hit you. Up Smash away and nail him there, then wail away at him until he's dead.
Metroid, Xenoblade, EarthBound shill
I run a YouTube/Twitch channel for fun. Check me out if you want to!
Please let me know before you send me a FC request, thanks.
One of the most interesting things about the DLC will be how it's integrated into World of Light. Will it just be DLC straight away available or will it be something like having to rescue the fighters in themed areas such as a Persona area for Joker.
I was just victim to one of the most BS moments of my gaming career ever. Had the final boss' health completely drained but the game didn't register it as dead (must have had a tiny sliver left under it's icon or something), and it knocked me out right before I could land even one hit.
This was after trying it again & again and was so frustrated at that point I just had to quit or I probably wouldn't have a TV anymore, lol. Hope I don't have to do all the buildup again... the platforming & boss rush sections.
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
@RR529 if you quit you have to do the build up again. If you choose rematch than you won’t have to do that again. That being said, they should have split it up to being 2 stages.
@Grumblevolcano that’s what I’m hoping too. I expect them to be added to spirit board including new challenges with the dlc fighters and stages but I hope each gets a new portal on the WOL map. I love WOL but I hate it when I barely beat a 4* spirit on spirit board and than hit it’s shield.
Despite now owning 4 generations of Smash, I'm still a Smash noob, and have to add to the chorus of voices in praise of WoL mode. With Smash 4 I've only logged about 22 hours and kinda have to force myself to play it to try and develop some understanding to be able to enter online matches. But WoL changes that.
When I started it I was winning fights easily and picking up random spirits I didn't recognise and didn't seem to need, so was wondering what the point was, but a few hours in now and I've unlocked 44 spirits and am beginning to need to pay attention to what skills my Spirits offer, and needing several attempts to beat a few of the new ones. So that, and the Skill Tree, is opening my eyes to the world of the minute variables that differentiate the fighters and play a part in the balancing of the game. It's making it a very satisfying process and the fact I've got so many more spirits to fight is a welcome one.
Though it would be even better if we could view a bio on each spirit.
