I’m expecting a monster hunter playable character now with the Rathalos showing up. That or I would love a dark souls knight character. Would be an interesting move set.

If it can lay my bed and do the dishes for me, then I'm in!

@OfNullAndVoid I agree with you, I would've loved to see what the game has in terms of single player content and/or a story mode, as you mentioned.

I liked the Smash Bros. direct overall, I'm hyped for the newly announced playable characters (especially Simon, Richter, and King K. Rool) and SSBU having over 100 stages, though it did sort of break my heart to see Zero and Shovel Knight as assist trophies instead of being playable. Especially Zero, and I was JUST replaying the Mega Man X series! But whatever, as long as we get a good game anyway, I'm perfectly happy.

I can't tell you how crushed I will be if Nintendo themselves skimp on a 32GB cartridge for this.

I hope its success will have a rollover effect and third parties feel more comfortable in using higher capacity cartridges.

@Yorumi Yeah, I would love to see break the target as well, for the reasons you mentioned. Another one was Event Mode, which forced you into specific situations (sometimes with specific fighters). You'd start with one square unlocked, and would unlock connecting squares once you beat it or met certain conditions.

I'm hopeful about the blurred mode, but am also not going to be surprised at all if it's something more like a Smash Run type of deal and an SE kind

@Tsurii Smash Wii U was about 13 GB. And Smash Ultimate has already been stated to be over 16 GB.

@Grumblevolcano Oh yeah, I was talking about Peach's Castle from Melee. I should've clarified that earlier, my bad. Mushroom Kingdom II (based on SMB2) is in the game, but no announcement about Mushroom Kingdom I (based on SMB1) making the cut

I’m calling it now.
The blurred mode is a Fortnite-style battle royale. 100 players are placed randomly in a very large maze and fight each other to become the lone survivor.

I’d actually be interested in this, to be honest.

Oh yes, 100 players with peer to peer online, it’s bound to be the best mode ever.

I'm a little disappointed that Final Fantasy still has only 2 songs in Ultimate. What a shame, I was hoping we would get at least a remix or two.

@MarioLover92 Oh, I was wondering about the top right stage of the stage select screen in the Direct. It's either Mushroom Kingdom (64) or Mushroom Kingdom (Melee). Both are SMB1 themed.

@Grumblevolcano I believe all stages confirmed are shown on the official SSB website, and the only Mushroom Kingdom for SMB1 confirmed is the one from SSB64.

@DarthNocturnal No, let’s not go too far. The default Fortnite character looks really bland. I do see a Fortnite stage where the stage moves to different places on the island a là Delfino Plaza and Prism Tower, though.

But please, no Fortnite character

@Harmonie I didn't recognize from the image but yeah it's 64 from the clearer image on the site and placement makes sense too as it was the only unlockable stage in 64.
