But your levels have a ton of plays! I would think you would ignore the notifications. 🤔 Or has it slowed to a trickle now that smm2 is more than 6 years old?

Nah, I still check the notifications! I always check when it says there's a new comment at the very least, and I'll usually take notice when a bunch of likes come through at once. (Which is a shockingly rare phenomenon - I think people just forget that the like button is there tbh.)

Although, yeah, the game is definitely pretty slow nowadays lol. I think like half of my current likes came from immediately after I uploaded my Super World back in 2020 - my recent levels have struggled to break 20 likes. (Which is still a great amount honestly! Just not what I used to see.) I do have enough levels now that the game will sometimes refuse to give me specific notifications though, so that's kinda annoying. It's probably caused me to miss a good few comments over time :-/

Since I had the time, I decided to upload my next level a day early again!

FGY-79R-9KG

It's in a similar vein to Yoshi Island: it's another course that you can either rush through as fast as you want or explore some alternate paths to unlock a bonus room after collecting three pink coins for a key. It's going to be the second level of my Super World.

Edit: decided to upload the third level of my Super World way early as well: it's an underwater level, and also has pink coins to unlock a bonus room again. Here's the ID:

CW8-TTB-JSF

Two levels to go until I upload my Super World!

@ShieldHero Just curious, how many levels are you planning to have for your Super World? It's been ages since I last played Super Mario Maker 2... but I'm thinking of coming back to it and playing your Super World. Best of luck on wrapping it up.

@MarioVillager92, my Super World will have a total of 5 levels and should be out by the end of September, I will share its ccode on this thread when it is finished 😃.

@Robot99 I just finished your 'official' superworld (too bad the game doesn't let you make multiple). It was very fun. Thank you for sharing it here. Really good creative-but-traditional normal-difficulty super worlds are hard to come by.

I admit I skipped the optional evil dark level in world 8. 😅 Dark levels are... not my favorite. But I did the other 39 and enjoyed them all.

I'll dig into some of your other levels as well.

@ShieldHero I like exploring your levels but I also compulsively try to get world record 😆 Something about them is very speed runnable.

@FishyS,

"Something about them is very speed runnable."

I'm actually making my Super World levels with the intention of having multiple playstyles for the two kinds of players:
1. The people who like to speedrun (most of the time, the main paths of my levels are pretty easy overall)
2. The people who like to explore (all of my Super World stages have several nooks, crannies, and pipes that lead to optional slightly more challenging areas with rewards like 10-coins and pink coins that unlock a bonus room)

Some of the courses that will come later that aren't a part of my Super World will be a lot more linear, but there will still be some more open courses here and there 😃. I still have 14 more level ideas after my Super World finishes, after all (by the time I finish making levels, I'll have made 20 of them).

Thanks for playing, and I'm glad you enjoyed it! Haha, that's fair about Stumbling in the Dark, I've had a fair few people complain about that one. I'm just glad that I made it optional in the SW! I have two other dark levels, but one is well-lit and the other is fun rather than mean. I don't have any other dark water levels either (I saw your comment there lol).

I hope that you enjoy my other projects if you get to them! They're different flavors of the same style that my Super World was, with the miniseries being focused on big/varied set pieces and the 40-level series having focuses on difficulty curve and consistency. They're a lot more polished than my SW, too - I consider my miniseries to be my best work.

If you (or anyone else here) are craving more quality traditional Super Worlds, I have a few that I'd be happy to recommend! I'd need the game open in front of me to get the codes though, so maybe tomorrow.

Wigglers acting like a flashlight in the dark water is so rarely utilized I had forgotten it was a thing. It makes me want super mario maker 3 even more to see new weird features. Just as long as it doesn't have the Wonder invisibility badge... Imagine dark level with forced invisibility badge.

Your non super world levels don't have numbers - do I just play from oldest to newest?

@FishyS
Yup, oldest to newest - the 12 SMB1 levels are the miniseries, the 40 SMW levels are the big second series. Apologies for the lack of obvious numbers, I found that people tended to ignore that anyway 😅

I found out about the Wiggler flashlights shortly before making that level and knew that I had to use them somehow 😀

You would think Toadette should just be able to crawl out.

Holy shoot haha! It's not every day that I get a softlock report. 😵‍💫 Thanks for bringing it to my attention!

EDIT: If I had to guess, you followed a mushroom into the hole? That doesn't seem like a terribly unlikely scenario, I can see how you ended up there.

(How do you post images on here, by the way?)

@Robot99 Sometimes I explore too much and find a softlock 😆 Though that was the first I found in your levels. That crevice was just too enticing but then the ice physics messed me up.

To post an image from a website, do this:

Personally I uploaded that image to the free image hoster https://ibb.co, but any link works.

No, I just slid in there while crouching to see if the blocks had any secrets but somehow missed the first block and stood up in the middle.

That softlock was very much my own fault.

Uploaded my newest level today: the fourth level of my Super World, with a similar playstyle as the first four. But this time there is something new: there are two 30-coins in there. One of them via collecting pink coins like usual. The other is a secret. If you're quick enough, getting both in the same attempt is possible as long as you're okay with doing some backtracking. Let me know if you get both! Here's the ID:

The final level of my Super World... and my Super World itself... are now out! Here are the IDs:

The level:
1VL-HVW-THG
The Super World:
Never mind I can't find my Super World ID, but you should be able to find the Super World itself in my maker profile.

And don't worry, I'm not leaving the game yet! I still have 15 more level ideas, I'll be done with all of them by February 2026 (I moved up my plans a bit to make room for future games that I'm starting next year). And even after that, I'll still probably have a bit of time to play any other levels posted here 😃. So this game will continue to grace my Switch home screen for ages even after all my courses are uploaded.

during the roadtrip when i was moving, i created a…wait for it…taylor swift superworld. i made courses based off of each album, but dont worry if you dont like her music, these levels are pretty enjoyable for regular mario maker players i would say. but im very proud of these eleven levels and would say they provide some roaring in frustration but also some smiles!

@Hapless i honestly don’t think you need recommendations from us, your levels are so challenging and fun to play. excited to see your new one later.

@Hapless Out of curiosity... you have one level with a tunnel which is an absolute gauntlet with bullets and hammer bros. But you can also just walk over the top. Is that an intentional easy and hard path or was that an accident?

Hi everyone,

I'm GREGGY and I made a pretty amazing Metroidvania Level called: Super Metroid II REMASTERED ™.

You will experience true open world design with many secrets and many red coins to collect.

I draw a map of the entire level in "views comments". If you enter the ship and activate the comment, you will be able to see the map in the level.

Here's the level code: Q22-4TN-VRG

HAVE FUN AND SEE YOU NEXT MISSION!
